Instead, under the influence of the runic power in his palm, it opened a gap just wide enough for one person to pass through.

And the gap closed right after Soulxiao entered, returning to its original state. Those reacting afterward and trying to follow slammed into the barrier, being struck by its power and violently sent flying, spitting blood.
