Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 435: Gentlemen, Shall We?

Right after Kent finished writing down the correct recipes, he sensed a faint killing intent from a certain direction in the audience.

He smiled but didn't make it obvious so the person wouldn't know he had sensed them. Kent knew the person was just trying to appraise him.

But the only mistake they made was revealing they weren't friendly. And since his soul strength had reached the Tier 10 stage, anyone below that could easily be figured out.

Kent knew the one scanning him wasn't a friend, so he became hostile as well.

Before coming to the competition, he had prepared, and one of those preparations was using his Skill Upgrade Points to enhance the [Soul Shock] skill he had purchased when he was at the Green Gate Bazaar with his ladies.

It was a mere Heaven-grade skill, but after upgrading it to the Mystical grade, he unlocked new, powerful abilities from that one skill alone.

One such ability is called [Soul Brand].

It allows him to brand someone's soul as long as they are within his soul-sensing range. With Kent's soul at Tier 10, his sensing range could extend several miles.

This allowed him to brand this person, and from that, he began keeping track of them.

When he and the other contestants came out, he felt the person move out of his sensing range. Naturally, he knew they had gone to inform their team or master—or whoever—that he would soon be leaving the Pill Tower.

Kent was ready for them.

So, when the person appeared again on their way, he sensed him.

Nara, who was gaining her connection to the night simply because night was drawing near, also sensed the person. Lady Lani, a Sovereign, could sense hundreds of miles away.

"How are we going to handle that?" Nara asked.

"Like always, we first slow down the carriage, and I will go handle it," Kent smiled.

"You are not going alone," Nara said, already ready for battle.

"Fine, you can come and watch, but only watching, no fighting." That was good enough for her.

"How confident are you in hiding your presence?" Kent asked, and in response, Nara extended her hand and made something dark appear in it.

It was a bracelet. Looking closely, Kent could tell it's a soul item.

The moment she placed it on her wrist, her presence vanished, leaving no trace.

"That is the Night Bracelet. The moment I wear it, it merges me with the night. Not even a god can sense me."

"But I presume it can't be used for an extended amount of time, judging by how much it was absorbing from you," Kent smiled, and Lady Lani could only watch and pick up a few things.

She had pestered her friend to tell her what she was now and how come she had become more beautiful than her, but Nara only teased her the entire time.

Now, she was learning something about her, at least.

"It's true the energy consumption is high. But night is only thirty minutes away. When it falls upon me, I will become invincible.

Meaning, in the next thirty minutes, I will use my own energy, but after that, the night will take care of the rest," Nara smiled, looking at her friend.

"What a cheat of an existence," Kent laughed and looked at Lady Lani.

"You are a Sovereign with the Darkness Affinity, so I am not worried." Lady Lani nodded, smiling behind her veil.

"Then I will be sure to give you a good show," Kent smiled and vanished from the carriage.

The next second, he appeared atop a tall building. He focused his attention on one spot where a figure could be seen sneaking around, following the golden carriage.

He shook his head and vanished again.

After moving for a while, the figure stopped and retrieved a talisman. "They are nearing the location. I will break the talisman so you all come when they get to the location."

He put away the talisman and was about to move when someone held him by the shoulder and whispered in his ear,

"Why wait when we can do it now?" The assassin froze, but before he could even look at the person who spoke, a sword pierced his heart, killing him.

Kent let go of his shoulder and let him fall. The moment he did, he used the soul absorber to extract his memories and soul, giving him a clear idea of where to go next.

The first time he used this ability was when he was going to rescue Li Hua. It was also when he became a Soul Cultivator and gained the [Soul Absorb] skill.

It allows him to absorb the soul of his kills and temporarily take in their memories too.

This was a way to know where or who he was dealing with.

A rather convenient skill.

So he used it on the assassin he had just killed and extracted his memories. He quickly went through them and soon located the rest of the assassins waiting to be summoned.

He didn't even consider wasting his own time since he knew these were just the first of the true dangers, and he wouldn't want to give them a chance to retreat.

If their man didn't report back within the next few minutes, they would know something wasn't right and flee.

Kent looked at the dead assassin for a few seconds and vanished, going after the rest.

At one corner of Vastport City, a slightly worn-out house sat quietly, now occupied by fifteen assassins. Ten were Root Transcendents, and five were at the Ascension stage.

They were ready for a mission and were only awaiting the green light.

They knew it would come soon, so they were all on high alert. Suddenly, somebody kicked in the door and walked in.

They all stood up, and those who would take out their daggers, crossbows, short swords, and all kinds of assassin-type weapons did.

Kent walked calmly and entered the compound of this small house. He looked around and counted fifteen assassins.

Naturally, they recognized him too, so they became alert. The Kent they were sent to kill was now in front of them.

"A wise man once said, when he kicks in your door and walks calmly in, know he is after your life." Kent smiled and looked around again.

"Gentlemen, shall we?"
