Pokémon: The Strongest Trainer (Ash SI)

Chapter 15: Chapter 14: Pokémon Center

"Sorry, I didn't expect you to be up so early!" Just as Ash was thinking about the Oak family, Misty's voice suddenly rang out. Before he knew it, it was already 7 a.m.!

After getting up, Misty saw Ash preparing breakfast. Seeing this, her cheeks flushed slightly. After all, she had slept in front of a boy—kind of embarrassing for a girl!

"Don't worry about it. I don't sleep much anyway," Ash said with a grin, noticing Misty's flustered expression. He finished setting the food out on the blanket he'd laid on the ground.

"Pi~ Pikachu!" Pikachu, now awake, yawned and greeted Ash with a cheerful call.

"Go wash up and get ready to eat," Ash said to Misty and Pikachu, then released the rest of his Pokémon.

"Wow! That Onix is huge!" Misty gasped when she saw Ash's team. Even though Steelix, Onix's evolved form, was generally bigger, Ash's Onix still seemed enormous in comparison.

Together, Ash, Misty, and his Pokémon enjoyed a peaceful breakfast. It had to be said—Ash's cooking was delicious. But as his team grew in number, so did the amount of food needed. Ash knew he'd eventually need a professional Breeder to ensure all his Pokémon were well-fed and properly cared for.

"Misty, want to travel with me? My route just happens to pass through Cerulean City," Ash asked while packing up.

"Sure! I have to head back to the Cerulean Gym anyway, or Grandma will scold me again. I kind of snuck out this time," Misty replied with a playful smile. Her earlier shyness had already faded.

And just like that, Ash's journey gained a new companion—Misty. After walking all morning, they reached the outskirts of Viridian City. But just as they were about to enter, a woman in a police uniform stopped them at the city gate.

"Hold on. Please show your trainer IDs," Officer Jenny said politely. "If you don't, you could be mistaken for Pokémon thieves, and I won't be able to let you through until things are cleared up."

She had short, dark green hair and wore the standard police uniform, her presence both sharp and warm.

"Here's mine," Ash said, opening his Pokédex.

Ding!

"This Pokédex is registered to Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town. We hope you grow into an outstanding Pokémon Trainer. Also, Ash—don't forget to catch some weird Pokémon for me to study!"

—Professor Oak

Ash's face twitched slightly. That last part was obviously a personal message from Professor Oak.

"Seriously, Grandpa! Why would you add something so embarrassing!?" he muttered, shutting the Pokédex quickly and turning to Officer Jenny and Misty, feeling awkward.

"So you're Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town? I've heard about you," Officer Jenny said with a friendly smile. "Our family's been working with yours on those Pokémon recovery potions. I'm Jenny Laiza, by the way."

Ash blinked, confused. "Recovery potions?"

"Yes, the physical recovery potions developed recently. They're widely used now. Your family and ours—along with the Joy family—have all profited from them. Thanks for your contribution."

Realizing what she meant, Ash nodded in understanding.

"So those potions really were your work, Ash? I didn't expect someone your age to be behind something so important," Misty said, looking at him with admiration.

"It's nothing. If you want to train Pokémon properly, you need to understand how to raise them well. Learning a bit more never hurts," Ash replied, a little shy under her gaze.

He wasn't used to being in the spotlight. In his previous life as an assassin, blending into the background had been essential. Now, in this life, his focus was on training Pokémon. Fame still didn't appeal to him.

"Oh right, Laiza, take me to the Pokémon Center later. I might have a chance to work with your family again," Ash added, suddenly remembering the new batch of spirit recovery potions. With the support of both the Jenny and Joy families, things could move quickly.

"Cooperation? You mean you've developed another potion?" Officer Jenny Laiza looked confused for a moment at Ash's words, then quickly remembered the potion he had created—and her expression turned to excitement.

After all, both the Jenny and Joy families were famously resource-intensive. Despite being two of the most populous family networks in the world, they had a unique secret behind their numbers: an unusual biological trait.

Members of the Joy and Jenny families didn't marry or reproduce traditionally. Instead, they relied on a special method involving a mystical spring—known as the Fertility Spring. Controlled exclusively by both families, the spring allowed women of their bloodlines to conceive once they reached a certain age, simply by bathing in its waters. It was an extraordinary trait found only in their genetics.

This was one of the reasons the Jenny and Joy families had such vast numbers—they were the only ones physiologically capable of reproducing this way. No one outside their lineages had ever been able to replicate it.

"Yes. This is a mental recovery potion—it restores about half the mental energy of Pokémon, from novice to advanced level. I recently completed the final product," Ash explained, pulling out a vial of the psychic recovery potion he had developed.

"That's amazing!" Jenny Laiza said happily, clearly impressed. She immediately led Ash and Misty toward the Pokémon Center.

"Nanako! Look who I brought!" Laiza called out as they entered the Center. "This is the creator of the energy recovery potion—Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town!"

The woman in question, dressed in the classic nurse's uniform, had long burgundy hair and an elegant air. In both looks and presence, she was every bit as captivating as Laiza. If any man saw them together, he'd be stunned speechless.

"Really? You're Ash Ketchum? I've only ever seen your photo—it doesn't do you justice. You look way more handsome in person!" Nurse Nanako said, walking over with a smile as she examined Ash closely.

...

TN:

Just to be clear, Nanako and Laiza are the first names of Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny from Pewter City 😊👮‍♀️.
