Pokémon: Rewriting Ash’s Legend

Chapter 249: Capturing Regigigas?

Mewtwo and Latias were instantly entangled by Regigigas's elongated fingers—but the very next second, the two Legendary Pokémon vanished in a flash of Teleport!

They didn't even wait for Ash's command.

They knew—if they were caught in Regigigas's signature move, Crush, their fate would be brutal.

Regigigas, in legend, could shift tectonic plates. A full-force Crush from it wouldn't just damage—it could obliterate them.

Ash wasn't about to risk that.

"Charizard, keep using Dragon Dance—stack it!"

"Cresselia, interfere with Hypnosis!"

"Darkrai, back her up with Dark Void!"

"Latias, keep up the Calm Mind!"

"Mewtwo, set up a Future Sight!"

All of Ash's commands were fired off instantly via his Aura power.

In a chaotic battle like this, with more than two Pokémon fighting under one Trainer, normal vocal commands would be too slow. Enemies wouldn't just stand still and wait for turn-based instructions.

But Ash's Aura let him broadcast his will like lightning.

As for the three controlled Regis? They were already knocked out cold earlier.

Ash hadn't held back.

Though the Regis weren't fatally injured, they were down and done.

Meanwhile, Regigigas's fury was rising fast. Every time it tried to counterattack, Darkrai's Dark Void or Cresselia's Hypnosis would mess with its concentration.

Latias calmly kept charging her power with repeated Calm Minds. Regigigas had to divide part of its strength to resist the constant status effects, reducing its effective output to about 70%.

Then, Mewtwo's Future Sight was locked in.

Enraged, Regigigas began to launch beam after beam of Hyper Beam—nonstop.

This Legendary Titan didn't even need a cooldown period for the move.

Mewtwo quickly placed himself in front of the others, erecting a psychic barrier to take the brunt of the assault.

Ash, perched on Pidgeot above the battlefield, mentally counted how many Calm Minds Latias had used so far.

Almost time.

"Now! Mewtwo, Cresselia, Illusion Technique! Charizard, Dragon Rush! Latias, Mist Ball!"

Charizard had maxed out his Dragon Dances—six times! The resulting Dragon Rush released a terrifying aura that locked onto Regigigas like a predator marking its prey.

Latias tilted her head skyward, letting out a soft cry. Ethereal misty feathers glowed around her—Mist Ball, her signature move!

She too had maxed her Calm Mind boosts. At Level 100, her Special Attack had even surpassed Mewtwo's.

Regigigas instinctively sensed the incoming danger.

It howled and twisted its massive body, breaking through Charizard's aura pressure, tearing through Cresselia's illusions, and finally ripping out of Mewtwo's as well.

But—

A storm of Mist Balls rained down.

BOOM!!!

A deafening shockwave erupted from Regigigas's position, forming a towering mushroom cloud.

The ground within a 20-meter radius collapsed inwards, forming a giant crater several meters deep.

Even from miles away, the explosion could be seen blotting out the sky.

This was divine power.

Latias, at her peak, had unleashed a spectacle only true gods could create.

Any Pokémon below Champion level that sensed this aura fainted immediately.

Piplup, Sunflora, and Metagross—released by Dawn and Anabel—collapsed on the spot.

Ash glanced at Mewtwo.

Mewtwo understood and raised his hand. His immense psychic force erased the mushroom cloud from the sky in an instant.

Sceptile, Tyranitar, and Pikachu stood as a defensive wall, shielding Dawn and Anabel. Pikachu, now over Level 80, had entered the domain of third-tier Legendaries Rank—it didn't flinch before this supreme pressure.

When the cloud cleared, both girls looked like they'd seen the end of the world.

This wasn't a battle. This was armageddon.

For Dawn, it was a brutal reminder of how far behind she still was.

Anabel felt the same. Though she was already near Elite Four level, she quietly made a firm decision in her heart.

Down in the crater's center, Regigigas lay blackened and battered. Its energy was faint but not fatally harmed.

Ash didn't hesitate.

He pulled out the Master Ball.

Regigigas was on the brink. If Ash waited a moment longer, it might fully lose control.

"Go, Master Ball!"

This was his first time throwing one himself—the other had been gifted by the system and used to house Mewtwo.

Master Balls were said to have a 100% capture rate. But that assumed the target was still within the scope of human scientific limitations.

Regigigas? Not so simple.

If Ash hadn't worn it down so much, even a Master Ball might've failed.

The purple ball absorbed the towering titan, dropping with a thud into the crater.

It shook violently.

But it wasn't over yet.

"Latias, Mewtwo—Healing Bell!"

Ash also reached into the system shop and purchased two Soothe Bells, one for each hand.

He rang them gently.

Latias and Mewtwo's Healing Bell rang out, echoing across the battlefield like celestial music.

With Latias's Special Attack massively boosted, her Healing Bell's soothing aura even penetrated into the Master Ball.

Soothing and pacifying any lingering fury inside.

Eventually…

The ball stopped shaking.

Click.

Capture complete.

Now, Ash just needed to gain Regigigas's willing acknowledgment.

But for now, there was something more urgent.

The surrounding terrain was completely devastated, especially the massive crater left by Mist Ball.

"Wuu-né, wuu-né~"

Latias floated over and rubbed affectionately against Ash's cheek, chirping an apology.

"It's okay, I know you didn't mean to. But we do need to fix this."

Ash patted her on the head. Latias nodded sweetly and her eyes glowed blue as she began to lift rocks and debris with her psychic power.

At that moment, Ash heard a familiar system notification echo in his mind.

He smiled.

After today's battle, both Mewtwo and Latias were about to skyrocket in level.

Author's Note (PS):

Let's be realistic here—capturing a Legendary-class Pokémon like Regigigas with a Master Ball? It's not going to be some smooth toss-and-catch. Even normal Pokémon can disobey after being captured, let alone Legendary Beasts.
