"A Pokémon problem?"

Johan's Pokémon psychology consultation room had technically been open for a while now.

However, compared to his bustling café and the charismatic Waiter siblings, the consultation room seemed to lack presence.

After all, most people who lived far away would choose to consult online, while those closer to him preferred to contact him through the academy or via Steven.

Take the case of that Lunala who wouldn't sleep, for instance—that one had come through Dock's network.

Since this was a Pokémon-related issue, Johan immediately became serious.

"I need to hear more details about the situation first," Johan said.

Hopefully, it wasn't a Slaking refusing to "slack off."

If that were the case, Johan might call Officer Jenny immediately—"Someone's breaking the rules!"

After all, everyone knew that Slaking was absurdly powerful, boasting a 670 base stat total—a stat line rivaling legendary Pokémon!

For comparison:

Rayquaza: 680 Salamence (Mega): 700 Wishiwashi (School Form): 620

But Slaking was balanced by its Truant ability, which made it loaf around every other turn.

If Slaking ever lost that limitation... Johan didn't even want to imagine what kind of chaos that would unleash.

Norman, sitting across from Johan at the café, explained the situation.

"Two days ago," Norman began, "my son Ruby was playing with Sapphire and his sister May. That's when a rampaging Salamence suddenly attacked them."

Norman glanced at Ruby, who clenched his fists in frustration.

Norman continued, "Ruby managed to stay calm and commanded my Vigoroth to defeat the Salamence. But it terrified the girls."

Johan frowned slightly.

"So, that Salamence—what's its deal?"

"This Story Feels Familiar..."

Johan rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

Wait a second—this sounded suspiciously like the plot from Pokémon Adventures!

In that story, Ruby accidentally unleashed Rayquaza while fending off a Salamence attack near Meteor Falls.

But Johan had already confirmed through Steven and Joseph Stone that there was no Rayquaza containment plan in this world.

"Looks like it's just a coincidence," Johan muttered to himself.

"Can I take a look at that Salamence?" Johan asked.

"Right here?" Norman glanced around the café.

Johan chuckled, motioning for them to follow him.

"Come with me."

The Backyard Showdown

The group followed Johan to a spacious clearing behind his café—a spot near the river that was often used for training.

Just last week, Johan had battled the Fighting-type expert Bea here.

Norman nodded at Ruby.

Ruby hesitated for a moment before unlocking the safety latch on the Poké Ball.

The ball shook violently.

Then—

"ROAR!!!"

A fierce, terrifying Salamence appeared in the clearing, its wings spread wide.

Its body was covered in light blue scales, with blood-red wings and a long, powerful tail.

The Pokémon's eyes burned with a terrifying rage.

"Salamence, the Dragon Pokémon. Type: Dragon/Flying."

The Rotom Dex flew out from Johan's pocket.

"Salamence is known for its ferocious temper, capable of going on destructive rampages, Rotom!"

Johan shot the Rotom Dex a look.

"Finally doing your job as a Dex, huh?"

Rotom chuckled nervously.

"No Fear from Gengar"

Salamence's intimidating presence made May shrink behind Norman.

Ruby clenched his fists, determined to be brave.

But Johan's Gengar popped out of his shadow with a mischievous grin.

"Ka-kaah?"

The ghostly trickster squinted at Salamence, curious rather than scared.

"So this is Hoenn's pseudo-legendary?"

"Looks pretty tough."

"It's... cute?"

Salamence let out a deafening roar and launched itself into the air, preparing to dive-bomb Johan.

Ruby's eyes widened in panic.

"Look out!"

But Johan remained calm, even smiling.

With a soft hum, he reached for his Poké Balls.

Red light flashed—

Ninetales

Tinkaton

Dragonair

Kubfu

Charcadet

—all materialized, standing between Johan and the enraged Salamence.

"Alright, let's start the treatment," Johan said.

"Misty Terrain!"

Ninetales lifted its elegant head and howled softly.

"Oowoo~~"

A beautiful, pink mist spread across the clearing, forming a protective barrier.

Misty Terrain: Weakens Dragon-type moves and prevents status conditions.

Seeing the dreamlike scene, both Ruby and May were entranced.

"So... beautiful," Ruby murmured.

"Physical Therapy Time!"

Steven raised an eyebrow.

"Planning to hypnotize it?"

Johan shook his head.

"Salamence is naturally aggressive. If it's also enraged, hypnotizing it won't be enough."

He glanced at his Tinkaton.

"Time for some... physical therapy."

"Tinkaton."

"Cha!"

The tiny Fairy-type grinned, hefting her massive hammer over her shoulder.

She took a moment to shine it.

"Wait... so cute!" Ruby and May both exclaimed.

They couldn't reconcile the adorable Tinkaton with the idea of it smashing a Salamence.

But—

"Play Rough!"

Johan's command was calm, measured.

Tinkaton's hammer swung upward with a playful twirl.

"Koo!" Kubfu offered an encouraging stance.

Salamence roared, diving toward the tiny Fairy-type—

Until—

BAM!!

The hammer connected with Salamence's jaw, sending it crashing into the ground like a meteor.

"BOOM!"

A crater formed where Salamence fell.

Ruby and May stared in shock.

"Good... good... GOKA!!"

Tinkaton adjusted her pigtails and skipped over to the unconscious Salamence.

Johan remained composed.

"Alright, Nurse Waiter!"

"Ayii~~"

The cheerful Waiter Sister stepped forward, casting Healing Pulse to revive Salamence.

Salamence blinked awake, only to see Dragonair charging up Thunderbolt.

"Zap!"

This cycle of treatment continued a few more times.

Ruby and May were completely dumbfounded.

Johan stood with a satisfied smirk.

Finally, Salamence woke up for the last time—this time without anger.

It glanced at Tinkaton nervously, then at Charcadet, who stepped forward with authority.

"Goka!"

"Give me a face-saving gesture!"

Salamence nodded obediently.

Johan chuckled.

Charcadet gave a thumbs-up.

"Goka! (`・ω・´)b"

Ruby and May exchanged wide-eyed glances.

"It... worked?"

Johan crossed his arms.

"Of course."

Now that Salamence was calmer, Johan had Ninetales put it to sleep.

In its dreams, Salamence found itself in a tranquil world.

No more battles, no more Tinkaton, no more hammers.

Just peace.

A single tear of relief slid down Salamence's cheek as it slept.

"Teacher, your methods are becoming more... structured," Flannery observed.

Roxanne nodded.

"Teacher's 'physical intervention therapy' really works!"
