POKEMON: PICK UP THE MYSTICAL POKEMON DIANCIE AT THE BEGINNING

Chapter 29: Chapter 29 Top 8

---

In the quarterfinals after advancing to the top 16, Victor still only sent out Torracat and easily defeated his opponent.

The list of top eight was released at 2 PM.

They are: Victor, Roman, Balor, Tessa, Kong , zyan, sami, and Jin.

Among the eight, Victor, Roman, and Tessa are students in Class 1 of Grade 3.

Balor is a student in Class 2, and his main Pokémon are Wartortle and Drapion, both at the Normal level.

Kong and zyan are students from Class 5. Kong displayed her psychic in the quarterfinals, enabling her Normal-level Pidgeotto to unleash Elite-level attacks, defeating Snivy from Class 1.

Zyan used a Normal-level Liepard and a Novice-level Spheal.

Sami and Jin, from Class 9 and Class 10, each possess a Normal-level Pokémon and a Novice-level Pokémon.

After computer assignment, the quarterfinal matchups were decided:

Victor vs. Balor

Roman vs. Jin

Tessa vs. zyan

---

First Match: Roman vs. Jin

Roman's team included a mid-Normal-level Corvisquire and an early-Normal-level Swablu, which had just evolved earlier in the day. Facing their combined assaults, Jin's Pokémon were quickly defeated.

Second Match: Tessa vs. zyan

Tessa's Pancham defeated zyan's Spheal but struggled against Liepard's speed. Just when it seemed stalemated, Pancham evolved into Pangoro mid-battle, breaking the deadlock with a powerful Double Hit, which knocked out Liepard.

Match: Victor vs. balor

The crowd speculated fiercely about who would win.

Some believed balor's Wartortle could win due to type advantage over Victor's Pokémon. Others had faith in Victor, whose Torracat's strength was already proven, while the power of his Carbink was still a mystery.

Before the match, Victor's father, jhon, confidently remarked:

"My son will defeat Elite-level Pokémon before school starts."

Battlefield Announcement:

[Victor (Class 1) vs. balor (Class 2)]

Battle Rules: 2 Pokémon per trainer. Pokémon can be switched mid-battle. Victory is determined when both of one trainer's Pokémon lose their ability to fight.

Pokémon released:

Victor: Carbink

Balor: Drapion

A commotion arose in the audience. Balor's face turned pale as he realized the truth—Victor's Carbink had reached Elite-level, far beyond his Pokémon's capabilities.

Despite the disparity, Balor ordered Drapion to attack.

"Drapion, use Guillotine!"

Drapion lunged forward, its glowing horns aiming directly at Carbink.

"Carbink, Dazzling Gleam!"

Carbink emitted a blinding, multi-colored light, forming a protective shield. Drapion's charge clashed against the shield multiple times, but the continuous collisions weakened Drapion. Finally, with one last impact, Drapion collapsed, unable to continue.

[Drapion is unable to battle. Carbink wins!]

Balor sent out his second Pokémon: Wartortle.

Wen Hao commanded:

"Use Aqua Jet!"

Wartortle surged forward with incredible speed, shrouded in water.

"Carbink, use Moonblast!"

A pink sphere of energy formed above Carbink before locking onto Wartortle. No matter how fast Wartortle moved, the Moonblast followed relentlessly. With a final burst of energy, the Moonblast struck Wartortle, sending it flying.

Despite its injuries, Wartortle stood firm.

"Wartortle, use Water Pulse!"

As Wartortle spun within its shell, it created a sharp, spiraling water blade.

"Carbink, use Power Gem!"

Carbink fired a concentrated beam of light that collided with the spinning Water Pulse. The intense clash ended with the Water Pulse dissipating, and Wartortle collapsed from exhaustion.

[Wartortle is unable to battle. Carbink wins!]

[Winner: Victor (Class 1, Grade 3)!]

The crowd erupted into cheers, with Victor's classmates celebrating the overwhelming victory.

"Victor is incredible!"
