Chapter 38: Chapter 38 - Going on a Journey
The next morning, at 5 in the morning, Rico and his team are at the outskirts of the city with Lucas, Rosario, Professor Campillo, Juan, Ben, and Adrian.
"Good luck getting those gym badges," Adrian said to Rico.
"Are you sure about this?" Juan asked in concern.
"Yes, it'll be risky," Rico, carrying his backpack in his back, responded back with positive confidence, "but it'll be worth it in the end."
"That's good, Rico," Campillo agreed with him. "You are going on a journey like the one whom you are inspired. I heard those stories from Kanto and other regions. Also, you might want to start with Kidlat City, just north of Muñoz Town."
"Okay!" Rico responded back in agreement.
"Good luck out there, honey," Rosario said to him.
"You can go back home if something happens, okay?" Lucas added.
Rico then nodded. "Okay."
"Good luck out there," Ben responded back.
"And remember, Rico," Lucas gave Rico an important reminder, "…treat them in the same way you want them to treat you."
Rico heard that and nodded, promising to abide by that Golden Rule.
"Thanks, you guys," Rico said his goodbyes to them, "for everything. Bye!"
He then turned around and walked away with his team, leaving his hometown, as his mother commented to her husband, "Aww, our son was growing up so fast.
Along the way, Rico gazed at the golden sky as the sun rose over the sea horizon. Before leaving his hometown, Rico ate a light breakfast which consisted of toasted bread with butter and cheese, a cup of coffee, and two berry-filled empanadas. But he planned to buy more food and drink supplies at almost every town and city he will be visiting.
