Liam stared tensely at Arbok and Pidgeot, who were wrapped within a raging white tornado. The whirlwind spun violently, completely obscuring everything inside.

"Chaarbok!!"

Just as Liam's worry peaked, a furious roar from Arbok suddenly came from within the storm. In the next moment, golden electric sparks erupted through the white tornado, followed by a pained screech from Pidgeot. The violent gusts then began to rapidly dissipate.

Only after the tornado vanished completely could the crowd see the battlefield clearly.

Arbok was still tightly coiled around Pidgeot, its massive jaws viciously clamped down on Pidgeot's left wing. Sparks of electricity surged from its fangs, while Pidgeot had its eyes shut, groaning in pain.

"Pidgeot! Use Wing Attack repeatedly! Break free from the bind!"

Professor Oak frowned at the sight of Pidgeot restrained and shouted loudly.

"Pidgeot!!"

Responding to Oak's command, Pidgeot's eyes snapped open and it let out a piercing cry. Its still-movable right wing flared with white light and began pounding furiously at Arbok's body. Each strike echoed with a heavier thud than the last.

As expected of a champion-level Pidgeot—any regular Flying-type Pokémon would've been incapacitated by just one hit of Arbok's Thunder Fang, yet Professor Oak's Pidgeot still had the strength to fight back.

"Pidgeot!!"

BAM!!

"Chaarbok!!"

As Pidgeot struck again and again, Arbok finally couldn't hold on. A powerful blow landed on its neck, the intense pain causing it to instinctively loosen its grip and throw back its head with a snarl.

"Now's your chance, Pidgeot! Use Brave Bird! Take Arbok into the sky!"

"Pidgeot!!"

Seizing the opportunity as Arbok's jaws loosened, Professor Oak gave the order. Pidgeot, gritting through the pain in its injured wing, beat its wings fiercely as its body became enveloped in blue-and-white energy flames.

With a mighty flap, it soared skyward with Arbok still coiled around it.

"Arbok! Let go, now!"

"Chaa!!"

Liam hadn't expected Pidgeot to have such strength—wounded as it was, it still managed to lift the massive Arbok into the air. Alarmed, he quickly ordered Arbok to disengage. Obediently, Arbok uncoiled its tail and broke free, dropping rapidly from the sky.

"Don't let it escape, Pidgeot! Brave Bird!!"

Seeing Arbok falling, Oak immediately issued another command.

"Pidgeot!!"

While still ascending, Pidgeot suddenly curved in a tight arc, making a sharp 180-degree turn midair. Its Brave Bird flames surged even fiercer as it dove with intense momentum straight at the falling Arbok, which appeared completely vulnerable.

"Arbok! Use Dragon Rush!!"

Facing the oncoming Pidgeot, Liam furrowed his brows. Arbok had no way to dodge in midair, and using Protect again wasn't guaranteed. In that case—clash head-on! Let's see who's stronger!

"Chaa-ROOARRR!!!"

The instant Liam gave the command, Arbok let out a roar unlike any before. What followed left the entire audience dumbfounded.

Plummeting head-first moments before impact, Arbok suddenly erupted in a surge of blue-purple energy that engulfed its entire body. The energy formed into the shape of a dragon, its gaping maw filled with jagged fangs.

At the last second, the dragon sharply changed direction and soared skyward, spiraling upward like a rising serpent—colliding directly with the diving Brave Bird Pidgeot!

BOOM!

The two clashed with immense force, their energies—blue-white flame and purple dragon—exploding outward in a violent shockwave. For a moment, the two Pokémon were locked in a stalemate in the sky.

"Th-this can't be real! How could an Arbok use such a powerful Dragon-type move?! What's so special about this Arbok!?"

Elite Four member Bronson stared in disbelief at the dragon-shaped energy emanating from Arbok.

"Haha… This Arbok… its potential is extraordinary."

Agatha's eyes sparkled as she watched, clearly deep in thought.

"ROOARRR!!"

Suddenly, the aerial clash shifted.

Arbok, still engulfed in Dragon-type energy, opened its jagged jaws to an impossible extent—and before the stunned eyes of Pidgeot, swallowed it whole. The dragon then soared higher for a brief moment before making a sharp, vertical dive.

BOOM!!!

The resulting crash rocked the battlefield and sent up clouds of dust.

"Pidgeot…!"

Professor Oak stared, stunned, at the battlefield now engulfed in smoke. He quickly snapped out of it and called out with concern.

But the next sound that came from the dust was clearly not Pidgeot's.

"Arbok! Haha! Well done, Arbok!"

That familiar hiss rang out, and a large purple serpent slithered out from the cloud, lifting its head proudly as it crawled up to Liam—seeking praise.

Laughing heartily, Liam jumped up and hugged Arbok's head. His legs dangled in the air, but his face was lit with joy.

"Chaarbok~"

Clearly not pleased with Liam hanging off its neck, Arbok flicked its body left and right, making him sway wildly—but Liam only laughed harder, refusing to let go.

Eventually, Arbok gave up. It gently lowered Liam to the ground, then ignored him entirely. With a glint of fatigue in its eyes, it coiled itself up and rested its head on its body. Within seconds, it had fallen into a deep sleep.

Liam: "…Hey! Arbok! We're still in the middle of a battle… you…"

Liam looked helplessly at his Pokémon, a dark line forming on his forehead as he tried to rouse it—but fell silent.

Because as Arbok slept, golden specks of light began to rise from its body. The wounds it had suffered healed rapidly under the glow, and its aura was visibly strengthening.

"…Come back for now, Arbok. You did great just now…"

Seeing this, Liam quickly retrieved Arbok with its PokeBall. He wasn't sure what this new state meant, but so far, the fusion of Arbok with the giant Dragonite's blood hadn't shown any adverse effects.

Since Arbok clearly couldn't battle again for now, it was better to return it to avoid being affected by stray moves from the ongoing battles.

By this time, the dust had cleared completely.

In the center of the field was a massive crater—and inside it lay Pidgeot, clearly defeated.

Without a word, Professor Oak recalled Pidgeot into its PokeBall, gently patting it as if in comfort. Then, with a glint of excitement in his eyes, he drew another PokeBall and looked toward Liam.
