Pokemon: I am a God-level Player

Chapter 108: 108. God-Level Players

While Eddie was playing and resting, LevelBoss and the Dream Girl finally arrived at Cerulean City.

In fact, just as Eddie suspected, these two trainers had been grinding levels day and night, only resting for 4 hours daily, eating for 2 hours, and spending the remainder of their time in the game leveling up their Pokemon.

However, when they checked the major game leaderboards with full confidence, they were stunned.

"Why... why?!" LevelBoss exclaimed.

"He already has the third badge?! Can he fly or something? This is way too fast," Dream Girl added.

"Today is only the fifth day since the game launched. Doesn't he need to level up while traveling? This speed is unreal."

LevelBoss stared at the Badge list. As a top-tier game master, he felt deeply frustrated for the first time.

"He is leveling up while traveling," Dream Girl pointed out. "Didn't you see the level rankings?"

"Yesterday his Pokemon were all level 35, but now one is level 43, another is level 40, and two more are level 39. Isn't that faster than flying?"

The Dream Girl beside him looked dissatisfied, but all she could do was accept her disappointment.

"Damn it! Two of his Pokemon are already level 40, so his trainer rank has been raised again?!" LevelBoss groaned.

"Yes, on that rank list, the Peak Trainer title is displayed next to his name."

"Forget about Morning Sun, I admit he's incredibly strong, but what about these hidden names on the list?"

"Well, now that things have come to this, I can acknowledge the theory might be true..."

"Which absurd theory are you talking about?"

"Think about it carefully. If there are such powerful trainers, why would they all hide their names? I don't believe they're all that modest."

"Besides, even if they are that modest, they would still participate in gym battles, right? Do you think trainers with level 20 or even level 30 Pokemon can't defeat the Oldale City Gym? Can't beat the Cerulean City Gym?"

"The most important point is this! Even if those people are truly that modest, so modest that they don't even participate in gym competitions, why aren't they on the rank list? You know, even trainers with level 20 Pokemon qualify as intermediate Trainers."

"There's a level 35 Fearow on the level list, so why isn't its trainer on the rankings yet?!"

The Dream Girl shouted excitedly and indignantly while LevelBoss's face darkened.

In truth, he had noticed these inconsistencies long ago but hadn't wanted to admit them.

"Let's accept reality," he finally said. "These hidden names are actually Morning Sun's Pokemon. Maybe he caught them during his journey."

"Of course, it's also possible that he's skilled enough to train multiple Pokemon simultaneously, but I'm more inclined to believe he captured these Pokemon along his route."

After that, Dream Girl and LevelBoss looked at each other and could only express their frustration. They roared and vented a few times before walking silently to the Cerulean City Gym.

The game had to go on regardless, but first place had become unattainable, so they could only compete for second place now.

And with only one second-place position available, the two of them were essentially competing to be Eddie's Rival.

Earlier, they had leveled up together in Mt. Moon just to progress faster and keep pace with Morning Sun.

Top player LevelBoss and top player Dream Girl had given up competing with Eddie for first place. Being in second and third positions, they had witnessed Eddie's terrifying prowess.

They felt they couldn't catch up to Eddie, let alone defeat him, so they simply abandoned that goal and now competed with each other for second place.

Other players weren't aware of these dynamics. Those who were merely spectating couldn't imagine the gap between themselves and Eddie without actively competing for rankings.

Many were even hoping that the mysterious trainers with hidden names on the leaderboard would eventually defeat Eddie.

That morning, many players were shocked when they saw the changes in the ranking list upon logging in, which sparked heated discussions in the forum.

As a result, the forum exploded with activity once again.

"Amazing! Truly worthy of being a god-tier player, Morning Sun has set another record. The level list has changed again, and the Pokemon names have also changed. It seems Pokemon can evolve a second time."

"Awesome! After level 10, I have to grind for half a day just to level up once. He's over level 30, and the experience required to level up is even greater. How did he gain several levels in just one day? It's incredible."

"Oh my goodness, I've been working so hard, and my first Pokemon is only level 15 and hasn't even evolved yet. What a terrifying leveling speed!"

"Hey there, what Pokemon are you using? Different Pokemon evolve at different levels. Tell me which one, and I'll help you figure out its evolution level."

"Thanks! My Pokemon is Tauros, a bull that looks particularly delicious—I mean, particularly strong. At what level does it evolve?"

"..."

This thread was discussing Eddie's 'Extreme Speed' leveling. Everyone was curious about Eddie's methods, wondering if there was some secret technique.

Of course, Eddie would never reveal his secrets. Although his rapid progress was partly due to his quick actions and proper planning, it was more because of his different game version that allowed him to level up so quickly.

Who would have thought that Eddie originally planned to break through level 20 on the fifth day, but now had exceeded that goal by far?

"Not only that, look at the potential list! The Pokemon previously called Riolu, now called Lucario, has reached champion-level potential. I bet the boss completed some hidden task again and obtained those Silver Crowns."

"We only learned about Silver Crowns from the world announcement, and it was because of Morning Sun's actions that we discovered these items could break through a Pokemon's potential."

"But I haven't heard of anyone else getting one of those yet."

"Yes, exactly! These must be incredibly rare items that can enhance a Pokemon's potential, but Morning Sun got a bunch of them as easily as going out to buy berries, and now he has four Pokemon with champion potential."

"I've said it before, and I'll say it again! God-tier player, Morning Sun is amazing!!"

This discussion focused on how Eddie broke through his Pokemon's potential limits. Many suspected Eddie obtained numerous Silver Crowns because he was ahead of everyone else and had completed more hidden tasks.

This wasn't a wrong guess, but Eddie now possessed not only Silver Crowns but also the more powerful Gold Bottle Caps.

"The Badge list has changed again. Morning Sun earns a Badge almost every other day. That's so cool! The trainers behind him can't catch up at all."

"The ranking list has changed too. Look at that Elite Trainer title—you can tell he's incredibly strong just from that. We don't even know what the next rank is. We Junior Trainers are just here to take the L."

"Don't worry, you're not alone in taking losses—we all are."

"To whoever said people behind can't catch up—if he was just a little ahead, would we call him a 'God-tier player'? Since his achievements are beyond what normal humans can accomplish, the title is well-deserved."

"Yes, indeed! God-tier player, a well-earned reputation."

Some forum users firmly suspected Eddie of cheating again, but obviously, a cheater wouldn't remain undetected for so long.

So these accusations were quickly suppressed.

Many unanimously believed that the trainers with hidden names on the ranking list were the real cheaters. Hadn't they noticed those trainers' levels hadn't changed?

Only truly perceptive players like LevelBoss could guess which hidden names belonged to Eddie himself, but there was no point in voicing such theories.

Not only would few people believe them, but it would only damage their own credibility and make them seem petty. Why bother mentioning it at all?
