Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom

Chapter 348: Chapter 348: The Power Boost of Nidoking!

At this point, Xander's Beedrill, Ariados, and Victreebel were already lying on the ground.

Cain had only Ursaring down, in an unknown condition.

Meanwhile, Golbat was being frantically attacked by Slowpoke and looked like it wouldn't hold out much longer.

Sneasel launched the move Icy Wind at Nidoking, intending to reduce its speed.

Xander cracked a maniacal smile. "Even if all my Pokémon fall, I'll drag you down with me!"

"Nidoking, finish off that Arbok! Free my Arbok!"

Although Sneasel's Icy Wind move created some shards of ice on Nidoking, having completely absorbed the purple pill, it was utterly unaffected.

Its eyes glowed with a purple light as it strode powerfully toward the spot where the two Arbok were battling.

Grabbing both Arbok by their tails, it effortlessly pulled them apart.

Despite both Arbok being Pokémon with extremely developed muscles and entwined in a tight struggle, Nidoking separated them as if it were nothing. This demonstrated its tremendous current strength!

After quickly identifying the two Arbok, Nidoking dropped Xander's Arbok to the ground and held Cain's Arbok in its hand.

Cain, seeing the changes in Nidoking, shouted urgently: "Murkrow! Haunter! Sneasel! Quickly, save Arbok!"

At that moment, both Murkrow and Haunter were already completely free, and Sneasel had also managed to break free.

Xander grinned cruelly. "Nidoking, hit it with all your strength!"

"Arbok, stop Sneasel and Murkrow from interfering!"

Xander's Arbok, just freed from the fight, gave a terrifyingly cold look and lunged directly at Sneasel, blocking its attempt to rescue its companion.

Before Murkrow and Haunter could intervene, Nidoking, under the terrified gaze of Cain's Arbok, swung it like a whip.

Crack! Crack!

Nidoking whipped the Arbok against the ground as if wielding a whip.

Seeing Nidoking's behavior, like a destruction machine, Cain couldn't help but feel stunned. He hadn't expected the purple pill to increase Nidoking's power so much. Even though his Arbok hadn't been specially trained, it was still a level 33 Pokémon.

Moreover, it wasn't a low-quality Pokémon. Cain's Arbok was at the top of the green tier, just a bit short of reaching dark green quality. This showed just how terrifying the effect of the purple pill was!

Pokémon: Nidoking (Dark Green) (Abnormal State)

Gender: Male

Level: 32 (35)

Type: Poison + Ground

Ability: Poison Point

Held Item: None

Egg Moves: Sucker Punch, Poison Tail, Iron Tail

Basic Moves: Leer, Peck, Focus Energy, Double Kick, Poison Sting, Fury Attack, Horn Attack, Helping Hand, Chip Away

Learned Moves: Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, Fire Punch

TM Moves: Protect, Venoshock, Earthquake, Thunderbolt, Hidden Power (Water)

Seeing Nidoking's moves, Cain was taken aback. He hadn't expected Xander to have invested so much in this Nidoking. The value of the TMs used alone amounted to millions, not to mention the cost of teaching moves like the three Elemental Punches.

More importantly, Nidoking was in an abnormal state. Although the purple pill had granted it a massive power boost, it remained an unnatural state, and according to the system, this state was more of a debuff than a benefit.

However, Cain couldn't see the reduced stats, only the increased power.

Furthermore, although Nidoking was originally level 32, after taking the purple pill, its level had risen to 35. No wonder Arbok had been used as a whip without resistance.

That purple pill must have been even more potent than the one Xander had given his Arbok in the past.

Fortunately, while Sneasel and Murkrow were being held back by Xander's Arbok, Haunter had no obstacles and reached Nidoking directly.

"Haunter, use Shadow Ball consecutively!"

Clearly, Nidoking had greatly increased physical power, but Haunter, being a Ghost-type Pokémon, had no fear of physical attacks.

Haunter launched a series of dark orbs that directly struck Nidoking.

Finally, Nidoking released Cain's Arbok's tail, but the latter was nearly incapacitated.

"Nidoking, ignore it! Use Earthquake!" Xander grinned cruelly, not hiding his madness as he gave the command.

His plan was to incapacitate several of Cain's Pokémon.

"Roaar!"

At the order, Nidoking pounded its chest with one hand and roared furiously. Fueled by its rage, it stomped the ground forcefully.

Immediately, cracks appeared in the ground, and a violent earthquake began spreading from Nidoking in all directions. The Arbok lying at its feet took the brunt of the impact.

Arbok instantly lost its ability to fight.

At this point, both Cain's Ursaring and Arbok had been defeated.

On the other hand, Xander's Golbat, which had been under continuous attack, also lost its ability to fight. Dark blood trickled from its wide mouth as it lay motionless on the ground.

"There's no doubt that Nidoking's power boost is overwhelming."

"But... this is the end!"

Cain smirked faintly. Although he'd lost two Pokémon, the others were still in good shape, and his main team remained active.

In contrast, Xander was left with only a berserk Nidoking and a gravely injured Arbok.

"Slowpoke, retrieve Arbok and Ursaring to see if they can still be saved. Then use Psyshock on the one-eyed Arbok to disorient it."

"Miltank, use Heal Bell on Arbok and Ursaring and give them Milk to recover."

"Haunter, use Toxic on Nidoking."

"Sneasel, use Ice Shard on Arbok, shaped like an ice blade."

"Murkrow, join Sneasel and take down Arbok with Dark Pulse."

The one-eyed Arbok and Murkrow were old rivals. The only remaining eye of Arbok stared fixedly at Murkrow, ignoring even Sneasel, who was preparing its Ice Blade.

Haunter's Toxic move didn't affect Nidoking much, whose body was already filled with toxins, only slightly draining its energy.

Murkrow and Xander's Arbok fought fiercely, while Sneasel launched Ice Blades from the side. At the same time, Slowpoke repeatedly struck Arbok's mind with its psychic attacks.

"Shaah!"

Finally, with a roar of anger and frustration, Arbok fell to the ground, its eyes reflecting madness and helplessness.

It had once been Xander's star Pokémon, but after losing an eye, even though Xander treated it the same, Arbok could feel it was no longer the favorite. Xander had poured all his attention into his new Nidoking.

He hadn't even given Arbok the chance to try the purple pill, reserving it for Nidoking.

Now, facing its final enemy, Arbok had no way to stop it.

With great frustration, Arbok collapsed slowly to the ground.
