"Never forgive!" The woman's voice was filled with fury as Gastly hovered nearby, its words failing to calm her. Instead, the emotion within her surged, manifesting in a vivid purple aura that radiated from her body. The aura pulsed like a living force, spreading outward as powerful shock waves.
**Boom!**
Gastly, being closest, faced the brunt of the attack. It quickly summoned Will-O-Wisp as a protective barrier, barely managing to withstand the assault. Meanwhile, the unleashed energy blasted indiscriminately, striking the cliffside and the ocean below, resulting in violent explosions.
"Calm down!!" Gastly pleaded, its voice strained as it fought against the storm of Grudge-fueled power. But the woman was beyond reason, her mind consumed by rage.
The oppressive energy warped her soul and body, pushing her closer to becoming an evil spirit—a transformation Gastly dreaded. If it happened, there would be no turning back.
"Never forgive!!!!" she screamed again, her face contorted with hatred. She no longer recognized anyone, her sole desire being to destroy everything in sight.
Two millennia of waiting had culminated in a cruel betrayal. From the height of hope to the depths of despair in mere moments—such anguish would break even the strongest spirit, let alone hers.
"This... what's going on?"
Team Rocket stood frozen, fear etched across their faces.
"You've got a lot of nerve asking that!" Misty snapped, her anger boiling over. "This is all your fault! What do you plan to do about it now?"
"Well..." The Rockets stammered, glancing nervously at each other, desperately searching for an escape.
**Bang! Bang! Bang!**
But the relentless energy strikes cut off any chance of fleeing. Grudge-fueled blasts hammered the surroundings, leaving the group huddled together in terror, trembling as they cried out.
"Somebody help us!!"
"Help you? You deserve this!" Misty shot back, her tone dripping with sarcasm. She crossed her arms, glaring at the hopeless group.
"Misty, get down!"
Ash's shout snapped Misty out of her thoughts. She turned, startled, as a beam of energy barreled toward her. Eyes wide, she froze in place, unable to move in time.
**Thud!**
Ash sprang forward, tackling Misty to the ground just as the attack whooshed past them. The blast struck the ground behind them with a deafening explosion, scattering debris. Rocks rained down, some landing on the two of them, but they avoided the worst of the impact.
"Ash! Misty!" Brock's panicked voice rang out as another wave of energy surged toward them. Pikachu's cries of distress—"Pika-pi!"—echoed alongside him.
Misty looked up just in time to see the next attack heading straight for them. Ash braced himself, shielding Misty with his body, but it was clear they wouldn't escape in time.
**Thud!**
Suddenly, a blur shot through the chaos—a small figure moving at lightning speed. Eevee, the closest Pokémon to them, leaped into the air.
**Boom!**
Eevee intercepted the blast, absorbing the energy in midair. It cried out as the force hit, but its bravery prevented the attack from reaching Ash and Misty.
**Boom!!**
The explosion sent Eevee hurtling through the air, enveloped in dark purple energy. It let out a pained cry before crashing to the ground, its body trembling under the oppressive force of the Grudge energy.
"Eevee!!"
Ash's voice rang out in alarm as he scrambled to his feet and rushed toward Eevee. But when he reached out to scoop the Pokémon into his arms, the energy repelled his hand with a sharp, crackling shock.
"Ah!" Ash flinched, pulling back instinctively. The invisible barrier felt like an electric current surging against his touch.
"Be careful!" Gastly called out urgently. "That's the energy from two thousand years of Grudge—it's incredibly dangerous!"
Ash's brow furrowed as he glanced at Eevee, who writhed in pain. Without hesitation, he extended his hand again. The same jolt of energy struck him, but this time, he refused to pull away. His jaw tightened in determination as he forced his hands through the barrier.
"Hang on, Eevee!"
Ignoring the pain, Ash finally wrapped his arms around Eevee and pulled it close. The dark energy swirled around him now, lashing against his body, but Ash gritted his teeth and held firm.
A faint red light flickered in his eyes, growing stronger as he clung to Eevee. The oppressive energy began to dissipate, melting away from both trainer and Pokémon. Gastly hovered nearby, astonished.
"How... How is this possible?" Gastly murmured. "This boy's bond with his Pokémon is stronger than two thousand years of spite?"
But the woman's voice rang out again, cutting through the tension.
"I want you all to disappear!"
She raised her hand, and the Grudge energy surged toward her, condensing into a massive, swirling orb above her palm. The sheer force of the attack radiated outward, sending shivers of panic through everyone present.
Team Rocket huddled together, trembling violently.
"It's over! We're doomed! I don't want to die here!" James wailed, his voice cracking.
Ash stood his ground, still clutching Eevee protectively. The red light in his eyes remained steady as he prepared to face the imminent attack.
**Buzz!!!**
Amid the chaos, no one immediately noticed James stiffen. His trembling abruptly ceased, and his eyes turned vacant for a moment before narrowing with determination. Without warning, he shrugged off Jessie and Meowth's grasp and stepped forward.
"Hey! James, what are you doing? Get back here! Don't you dare die on me!" Jessie shouted, her voice laced with panic.
But James didn't respond. He continued his steady march forward, ignoring the cries of his teammates and the others.
"What's going on?" Misty and Brock yelled, their confusion mounting.
Gastly floated closer, its spectral eyes fixed on James. "This energy... I can sense something... no, *someone*..."
Ash, his gaze still glowing faintly red, turned his head toward James. "What is that?" he murmured, his voice low but steady. His connection to the aura-like energy allowed him to see what others could not.
James continued his approach, unflinching in the face of the overwhelming Grudge energy. Whatever force was driving him, it was something none of them could fully comprehend—yet.
