Chapter 3: Chap 3: Magic
Magical energy is the core element needed to activate and maintain spells. This energy exists in many different forms, such as natural energy from the environment, spiritual energy from the soul, or internal energy from the shaman's body. Shamans learn to harness and control this energy through cultivation and practice. A spell is a formula or code that a magician uses to manipulate energy and produce magical effects. This information can be stored in many forms, such as incantations, runes, or complex magical diagrams.
Magic requires a harmonious combination of information and energy. The magician must undergo a long process of study to understand the types of magical information and how to harness and control energy. The training process includes regular practice, meditation to enhance the ability to control energy, and participating in practical tasks to hone skills.
This magical system is not only a powerful tool for combat and protection, but also an important part of the culture and knowledge of the magical world. It requires the magician to have patience, intelligence, and respect for moral rules and nature. The man in the black cloak stood in front of Kai and Mr. Shell, his eyes flashing with a cold light. His cloak covered his entire body, revealing only his sharp eyes and a slender hand.
He began to mumble an incantation, each word coming out like a ghostly whisper echoing in the air. From his hand, a dark energy began to radiate, each ray of energy writhing and twisting like poisonous snakes.
The light emitted from his hand became brighter and brighter, spreading throughout the surrounding space, making the air heavy and difficult to breathe. Kai felt the danger from this energy, his heart pounding and his eyes not leaving the cloaked man.
The man in the cloak closed his eyes, concentrating all his strength into his palm. A mysterious symbol appeared and flickered in the air, emitting a blood-red light. He opened his eyes, his cold eyes becoming bright, filled with fierceness.
Kai knew that this magic could bring about a terrible nightmare. He braced himself, gripping his bow tightly, ready to deal with it. Mr. Shell was also tense, his eyes never leaving the enemy, preparing for the worst.
The energy stream from the hand of the man in the cloak suddenly exploded, emitting a powerful beam of light, preparing to launch a destructive attack. The surrounding space shook, creating a terrifying and powerful scene.
For farmers like Kai, magic was something strange and mysterious. They were more familiar with farming and fighting nature than with unpredictable supernatural powers. When faced with an enemy capable of using magic, Kai felt completely helpless and had no idea how to deal with it.
The black-robed man was about to unleash a spell, the bright light and intense force from his hand completely stunned Kai. He had never seen anything like it and did not know how to avoid it. His limited understanding of magic made it impossible for Kai to predict what would happen next.
In that moment, Kai could only stand still, trying to stay calm and prepare himself for the worst. Mr. Shell also sensed the danger, but did not have enough time to guide or protect Kai from that magical attack. Both of them understood that they were facing a danger beyond their abilities.
A stream of magic exploded from the black-robed man's hand, rushing towards them with terrifying force.
In the moment Kai realized he had no way out, before the black-cloaked man's magic attack could reach him, Mr. Shell suddenly jumped out from behind, pushing Kai away. Everything happened so quickly and suddenly that Kai had no time to react.
Mr. Shell rushed forward, receiving the entire magic attack with his body. The blinding light and terrifying power from the magic attack caused Mr. Shell to be thrown away, falling to the ground with serious injuries. Kai watched that scene, feeling fear and helplessness filled his heart.
"Mr. Shell!" Kai shouted, trying to run towards him. He felt the loss and pain when he saw his old family friend lying on the ground, his body burned and severely injured.
The black-cloaked man sneered, feeling that he had succeeded. "You cannot resist me. All of you will suffer this punishment."
"A mere peasant like you dares to confront me?" he said, his tone filled with contempt. "You don't even know magic, you're just a lamb waiting to be slaughtered."
Kai felt his blood boil, but he tried to keep his composure. The hooded man's taunts only increased his resolve. He knew he couldn't let his enemy's contempt shake his resolve.
"You may despise me, but I will never give up," Kai replied, his eyes determined. "I will fight to the end to protect my village and the people I love."
The black-cloaked man sneered, but was a little surprised by Kai's determination. "How pitiful. Let's see what you can do."
Kai, with all his courage and determination, gripped the axe tightly in his hand. Although he knew the difference in strength, he still could not let fear control him. He rushed towards the black-robed mage, shouting as he ran, as if to encourage himself and put all his strength into each step.
Kai's shout echoed in the space, mixed with his rapid breathing. Everything seemed to slow down in this moment, as he got closer to the enemy. The mage saw Kai rushing forward, his eyes flashed with surprise, but immediately followed by contempt and defiance.
Kai did not care about that look, he only knew that he had to attack and find a way to protect the village. When he was only a few steps away from reaching the mage, Kai put all his strength into swinging the axe, aiming straight at the enemy in front of him.
Before Kai could realize what was happening, a dark energy beam from the mage's hand had struck him.
Kai felt an excruciating pain as the dark energy passed through his body. He fell to the ground, watching in pain as his left arm completely disappeared. Blood flowed out, staining the ground red, and the pain seemed to tear his body apart.
The mage stood behind him, laughing coldly. "What do you think? A peasant like you cannot face my power. This is just the beginning of the nightmare you are about to face."The black-robed mage laughed coldly, his eyes flashing with cruelty. "It's time for you to die," he growled, raising his hand high, emitting a dark energy.
The black-robed mage was about to deliver the finishing blow when suddenly an arrow flew through his chest. He stopped, his eyes filled with surprise and pain. The arrow was deeply embedded in his chest, blood flowing out, dyeing his black robe red.
Kai saw that scene, a feeling of surprise and hope filled his heart. He turned his head, saw a stranger standing in the distance, holding a bow, his eyes steadfast and determined. That person had saved his life in the most dangerous moment.
The black-robed mage collapsed, his breathing becoming weak. He tried to say something, but could not utter a word. Finally, he fell to the ground, no longer having the strength to continue fighting.
Kai felt his body weaken, the pain from his wound and the loss of blood made him lose consciousness. Everything around him became blurry, he could only see the vague figure of the man approaching.
In his unconscious state, Kai felt like he was drifting in a strange space. He looked around and realized that the surroundings were an endless void, with no beginning or end. This vast space was completely silent, with no sound except for his own light breathing.
All around him, Kai saw hundreds, thousands of transparent fragments floating. These fragments sparkled like crystals, reflecting a dim light from an unclear light source. Each fragment carried within it faint images, like pieces of memories and time.
Kai felt like he was lost in another world, where everything was different and mysterious. He tried to focus on each fragment, trying to figure out what message they carried. The faint images from the fragments made him feel like he was exploring the deep mysteries of himself and the world around him.
In this void space, Kai felt a strange connection with the fragments. I feel the chaos in this place. Kai realized that his body had disappeared, he was just observing his surroundings with his mind. It felt strange and slightly unsettling as he floated in this void. He could no longer feel his body, no longer felt the pain from his wounds, only his consciousness and mind were left to understand the world around him.
Kai woke with a start, breathing heavily and his heart pounding. He found himself in a carriage, the gentle jolt of the wheels on the cobblestones slowly waking him up. Everything around him was alive, from the creaking of the wheels to the sunlight streaming through the windows.
Ai turned and saw a tall soldier with solid muscles, black skin and a massive body sitting next to him in the carriage. The soldier had a dignified appearance, bright and steady eyes, looking like a living bronze statue.
The soldier turned to look at Kai, a warm and friendly smile appearing on his stern face. "Good morning," he said, his voice deep and powerful. "Did you just have a bad dream?"
Kai felt safe and secure from this soldier, but he couldn't hide his surprise and curiosity. "Yes, it was a nightmare," Kai replied, trying to regain his composure. "Thank you for your help."
The soldier nodded, his eyes shining with understanding. "It's nothing. We all face challenges and fears. The important thing is to know how to overcome them and move forward."
Kai turned to the tall soldier beside him and asked, "Where is this?"
The soldier turned to look at him, his face gentle and his eyes filled with sympathy. "We're on our way to the city of Veloria," he replied. "Your village was attacked, and we found you in critical condition. Luckily we were able to save you in time and get you onto this carriage."
Kai felt a wave of sadness and worry wash over him. "My village... is there anyone left?" he asked, his voice trembling.
The soldier sighed, trying to keep his voice comforting. "Unfortunately, there isn't anyone left."
Kai felt shocked and sad
Kai felt a great shock and deep sadness welling up inside him. He couldn't believe that the village he had lived in, the place that held so many memories, was now devastated. His loved ones, friends, and neighbors were suffering unimaginable pain.
Looking out the window of the carriage, Kai felt his heart tighten. The sadness and helplessness left him speechless. Even though he knew that the survivors were being protected and cared for, he couldn't shake the feeling of loss and pain.
The soldier sitting next to him, noticing the sadness in Kai's eyes, placed a hand on his shoulder, as if to give him strength and comfort. "You are not alone, Kai," the soldier said, his voice deep and sincere. "We will get through this together. Your village will be protected, and we will find a way to rebuild from the rubble."
The soldier's words brought some comfort to Kai. He knew that no matter how difficult the situation was, he could not give up.
Kai muttered, "Veloria City... it seems to be somewhere in the middle of the continent." He tried to recall his memories of the city, but his mind was still hazy after what he had just experienced.
In the stories and books Kai had read, Veloria was described as a large and prosperous city located in the center of the continent. It was a bustling trading place, with merchants and traders from all over coming to it. Veloria was also famous for its magnificent castles, ancient temples, and cobblestone streets.
Kai also remembered that Veloria was an important center of culture and learning, with many magic academies and schools. Talented mages and powerful warriors often gathered here, training together and protecting the peace of the entire continent.
