Phoenix Reborn In One Piece

Chapter 216: Chapter 216: There Are Always Some Clueless Pirates

No one noticed.

In the corner, Reina was barely holding on, looking as if she might pass out at any moment.

Snail noodles were delicious, sure—but her sense of taste was very real!

From the very beginning, she had been enduring several times more magical attacks than the others.

And now, she was at her limit!

"Chuu~~~"

"Boom!!!"

Suddenly, a cannonball exploded near the Dream, sending waves crashing against the ship, making it rock back and forth.

Hearing the explosion, Reina immediately hid behind Nami.

The others remained calm and unfazed.

Just then, Hog came storming up. "Who's firing?! Ryuen, where's the attack coming from?!"

He was furious. The sudden shaking of the ship had made him pop another bubble down in the cabin—not an actual coating, but still annoying.

"There~"

"Look over there, it's a huge pirate ship~~~" Ryuen crossed his arms and gestured forward.

"A pirate crew that big shouldn't be unaware of our flag. Are they attacking us on purpose?" Kuina frowned, confused.

Ryuen said nothing. He simply walked to the bow and climbed up to sit there.

"Leave them to me. I'm in a bad mood and need to chop a few people to vent." With that, Hog pulled the giant axe from his back.

Hearing this, Kuina lowered the hand that had been reaching for her sword.

"Shi-hahaha!"

"What a fine-looking ship! Listen up, boys—this is an easy target! Don't damage the ship, got it?"

On the pirate ship ahead, a short, fat, greasy-haired captain with uneven yellow teeth let out a strange laugh and shouted orders.

"Yes, Captain Wild Boar!"

The pirates on the ship all looked at the Dream with greedy eyes.

"Captain Boar… that name really suits you," Kuina said coldly.

At that moment, Hogg leaped into the air, wielding his razor-sharp axe. With just a few steps, he was already midair.

"Captain... he... he can fly..."

A pirate watched in terror as Hogg got closer, his legs shaking as he spoke with a trembling voice.

The other pirates also looked uneasy.

One by one, they gripped their weapons, their eyes filled with fear as they stared at Hogg.

"What's there to panic about? Don't forget, I'm a Warthog Devil Fruit user!" the Boar Captain roared.

"Y-yeah, that's right!"

"Everyone, stay calm! The captain has a legendary Devil Fruit power!"

"Don't be scared, everyone!"

"Yeah! The captain will protect us!"

Remembering their captain's abilities, the crew slowly started to shake off their fear.

"Hahaha!"

"That's more like it! We're the Boar Pirates, after all!" The Boar Captain was pleased with his crew's reaction.

But his face quickly grew serious. He wasn't some rookie fresh out of the North Blue anymore—he knew all about Marine combat techniques like the Six Powers.

"Ignorant fool."

Hogg raised his axe midair, ready to strike down.

"Hogg, don't destroy the ship!" Ryuen suddenly shouted.

Hearing Ryuen's voice, Hogg lowered his axe. Instead, with a burst of speed, he landed on the pirate ship's deck in an instant.

"Stop!" the Boar Captain suddenly shouted.

Hogg had just been about to strike a pirate but paused for a brief moment when he heard the captain's voice.

Only for a moment, though. A second later, he swung the back of his axe, knocking the pirate out cold.

"Ah!"

"No, please~~~!"

"Help! Someone help me~~~!"

"Captain, save me~~~!"

Screams filled the air one after another. In just a few seconds, more than a dozen pirates had been knocked unconscious, lying motionless on the ground.

On the massive deck, the remaining pirates were running for their lives, desperately trying to dodge Hogg's terrifying attacks.

"Damn it!"

"I told you to stop!" The Boar Captain could no longer hold back his fury. He let out a furious roar.

Right after, his body began to change in a strange way. In the blink of an eye, he transformed into a half-human, half-boar creature—a monstrous figure with a savage boar's head and long, sharp tusks bared in a menacing grin.

But even in this intense moment, Hogg didn't stop his attack.

"Ahhh!!"

Another pirate was struck down, crying out in pain.

"You bastard, die already!"

The Boar Captain could no longer contain his rage. He let out a furious howl and charged at Hogg like a lightning bolt!

"Tusk Strike!"

With a furious roar, the Boar Captain moved at an incredible speed, closing the distance in an instant. He swung his sharp tusks, aiming to slam into Hogg with full force!

*Clang!!!*

For a brief moment, the Boar Captain felt like he had crashed into an unbreakable wall.

A powerful force pushed back against him. His unstoppable tusks—normally capable of cutting through anything—now felt as if they had hit an impenetrable surface. They couldn't break through at all!

"Armament Haki!"

"Boom!!!"

Before the Wild Boar Captain could finish speaking, Hogg's axe handle had already smashed into his pig-like head!

With a powerful strike, the captain's body was sent flying, crashing hard onto the deck. Everyone could clearly see his eyes rolling back as tiny stars seemed to swirl above his head.

He had completely passed out on the deck!

"Captain!"

"The captain… The captain lost so fast…"

"How is this possible…?"

"Couldn't he have lasted a little longer? At least long enough for me to escape first…"

The pirates on deck stared in disbelief at their fallen captain, some even cursing him for going down so quickly.

"Run!"

"Hurry!"

The sound of splashes echoed as the pirates who weren't knocked out by Hogg jumped into the sea without hesitation.

At this moment, Ryuen arrived, carrying Nami on his back, with Daisy and Robin following behind.

"Phew~~~"

"Finally got some of that anger out. But there are definitely more people in the ship's cabin," Hogg said, taking a deep breath.

"Let's go check inside..." Ryuen didn't waste words.

He headed toward the cabin, and the others, though a bit unsure, followed along. Inside, there were indeed some surviving pirates, but Ryuen swiftly dealt with them before they could react.

The five of them made their way toward a large room.

They could sense through their Observation Haki that a lot of people were inside, so Nojiko and Hogg both readied their weapons.

At the door, Ryuen conjured flames in his hand and melted the lock.

With a clatter, the lock dropped onto the wooden floor, making the people inside even more restless.

*Creak~~~*

Ryuen pushed open the door, and what they saw shocked them—more than twenty women and children!

All of them, without exception, had strikingly beautiful faces!
