When Lu Chen saw Wang Jing for the first time, his first impression was, "This young man is quite handsome!

Then he quickly realized his mistake. The person in front of him wasn't a young man, but a young woman- a very striking young woman.

She was about five feet tall, with a pair of straight, slender legs that were as precise as a compass, wrapped in light blue, thin denim jeans. Her upper body was clad in a self-designed silk-screened cotton t-shirt, and her short hair gave her a clean and refreshing appearance.

She was undeniably beautiful. Her eyes, nose, lips, and chin all met conventional aesthetic standards. However, she wasn't the kind of beauty that tended toward sultry or glamorous. Instead, she exuded an unmistakable and indescribable heroic charm.

What struck Lu Chen the most, however, were her eyes - bright and vibrant like morning stars.

"This is my daughter, Wang Jing," Wang Changsheng introduced them. "And this is Mr. Lu Chen, a new customer of our workshop."

"Hello!"

Wang Jing extended her hand to Lu Chen with a confident and natural ease. "Welcome to Nirvana Workshop."

Lu Chen shook her hand and replied, "Hello."

After they sat down, Lu Chen handed over the sheet music he had printed earlier and asked, "I would like your workshop to handle the arrangement and accompaniment recording for this song. Could you finish it in two days?"

Wang Jing frowned slightly as she took the sheet music and began to read.

She studied it with great concentration, humming softly to herself as she followed the notes. Her pitch was remarkably accurate.

As she read, the frown on her face gradually softened, replaced by a look of surprise.

After a moment, the striking young woman raised her head and asked, "Mr. Lu, did you write this song yourself?"

Lu Chen nodded. "Yes."

The sheet music clearly listed him as the songwriter.

Wang Jing looked puzzled. "This song is quite well written. Why do you need me to arrange it?"

"Wang Jing!"

Before Lu Chen could answer, Wang Changsheng gave her a stern look and said, "Mr. Lu is asking if it can be done in two days. Why are you asking irrelevant questions?"

Wang Changsheng knew his daughter's temperament too well and was afraid that she might scare off a client he had worked hard to get.

Wang Jing pursed her lips but didn't argue with her father. However, her silence and stubborn expression created a slightly awkward atmosphere in the small reception room.

Lu Chen cleared his throat to explain, but Wang Jing suddenly said, "Two days is too short. I can't guarantee the best quality. Can we have a little more time?"

Lu Chen explained, "This is the situation: On the 10th, I'm going to participate in a talent show on Capital City TV. The accompaniment has to be submitted in advance, so there's no way to extend the timeline. However, I don't need the highest quality."

"Singing China?"

Wang Jing's frown deepened. "If it's for something so important, why didn't you come earlier?"

Lu Chen smiled wryly.

He finally understood why Wang Changsheng had personally gone to Derong Tower to recruit customers. With Wang Jing's temperament, it was no wonder that the workshop's business wasn't thriving.

However, Lu Chen wasn't upset. Many talented people often had quirks in their personalities.

Since she was a graduate of the Capital City Music College, she should be reliable.

But her father, Wang Changsheng, looked like he was about to cry. "Wang Jing..."

Wang Jing lifted her chin and said, "Two days is doable, but the production fee will be 20,000 yuan!"

"20,000 yuan?

Lu Chen's expression turned strange. 'Miss, I am reasonable, but don't treat me like a fool!'

Twenty thousand yuan for a song—just for arranging and recording the accompaniment? If that were the case, why would he come to the Nirvana Workshop?

Lu Chen glanced at Wang Changsheng who was sitting on the side.

At that moment, Wang Changsheng finally displayed the emotional intelligence expected of a workshop director. He calmly said to Wang Jing, "Go get ready for work. I'll discuss the fee with Mr. Lu."

Though clearly reluctant, Wang Jing complied and took the sheet music with her as she left.

Wang Changsheng heaved a sigh of relief and said to Lu Chen with an apologetic look, "Mr. Lu, my daughter has a bit of a temper, but please don't take it to heart. You can rest assured in her abilities - we will work overtime to finish your song!"

"How about 10,000 yuan for the prize?"

Wang Changsheng voluntarily cut the price in half, obviously wanting to secure Lu Chen's business.

Lu Chen knew that if he insisted, he could probably shave off a few thousand yuan. However, since this was a rush job, a slightly higher price was reasonable. If he pushed too hard, the workshop might be less inclined to put in their best effort.

After some thought, he said, "10,000 will be fine for me. If this song meets my expectations, I'll consider letting your workshop handle my first album as well.

"Great, great!"

Wang Changsheng was overjoyed. "I would love to have a long-term collaboration with you, Mr. Lu!"

Producing an entire album was a completely different endeavor from producing individual singles. The standards were much higher.

For any music workshop, producing an album was both a challenge and an opportunity.

If the album sold well, it would establish a strong reputation in the industry, which would naturally lead to more business.

The Nirvana Workshop hadn't produced a full album since it was founded.

This made Wang Changsheng even more determined to keep Lu Chen as his client. With great sincerity, he said, "Mr. Lu, since you're here, why don't I show you our recording room? Dinner is on me tonight!"

Lu Chen smiled. "I'd like to see the recording room, but let's save dinner for another time."

Guided by Wang Changsheng, Lu Chen toured the recording room of the workshop.

The recording room took up more than half of the space in the workshop. It was equipped with condenser microphones, microphone amplifiers, audio monitors, vocal effect processors, mixers, a VOD karaoke machine, and other essential hardware, giving it a professional appearance.

The room was immaculate. The arrangement of cables, air conditioning, soundproof walls and doors was well thought out. Although the room wasn't large, it didn't feel cramped or cluttered, a stark contrast to the office area outside.

The recording room was run by Wang Changsheng's son, Wang Hui, a shy, bespectacled young man who bore a six or seven out of ten resemblance to his sister. Although reserved in personality, he was eloquent and knowledgeable when discussing the recording.

Wang Changsheng was obviously proud of his son. He enthusiastically offered, "Mr. Lu, how about letting Xiao Hui record a song for you as a trial? Free of charge!"

Lu Chen's interest was piqued. He asked, "Do you have a guitar here?"

Nirvana Workshop not only had guitars, but they also had a small house band, the Nirvana Band.

Along with the guitar came four band members, including Wang Jing. The other three were young men in their twenties who stood in the control room behind the vacuum glass and watched Lu Chen prepare to sing.

It was Lu Chen's first time in a recording room in this lifetime, but in his dream world, Xu Bo was no stranger to such settings.

However, Xu Bo had mainly recorded other people's songs, working as an accompanist, demo singer, and backup singer to make a living. He had never released an album of his own.

As memories surfaced, Lu Chen held the guitar, closed his eyes in front of the microphone, and stood still for a long moment.

In the control room, a long-haired young man chuckled softly. "What is he doing? This isn't a movie shoot."

A man in a black T-shirt pretended to be serious. "You don't get it. He's brewing emotions."

A short young man between them shook with suppressed laughter.

However, Wang Jing folded her arms and silently watched Lu Chen with a faint smile on her lips.

Fortunately, Wang Changsheng had just stepped out, otherwise he might have been annoyed by her antics.

Wang Hui frowned slightly but said nothing.

Sensing the need for propriety, the band members quickly stopped laughing. Whatever their thoughts were, they kept them to themselves.

Inside the recording booth, Lu Chen couldn't hear the conversation outside. Feeling that his mood was perfect, he opened his eyes and nodded to Wang Hui, signaling that he was ready to begin.

Wang Hui pressed a button and gave Lu Chen a thumbs up as if to say - 'Keep it up!'

Lu Chen strummed the guitar strings and launched into an energetic and uplifting intro.

The song he was about to sing was ''The Way You Are''.
