When Lu Chen received Mu Xiaochu's call, he was still in the workshop. The original live streaming room had been renovated and equipped with new devices, becoming his exclusive workspace.

However, Lu Chen did not start live streaming that evening, nor was he composing music; instead, he was typing. He was writing a script for a TV play.

As a graduate of the Computer Science Department at Jianghai University, Lu Chen was quite adept with computers, but he had never actually written a book, so this was a fresh experience for him. Even though it was past midnight, he was still full of energy.

Like many of his peers, Lu Chen had previously read online novels. In recent years, domestic online literature had developed rapidly, with both the number of authors and readers ranking first in the world.

Xuanhuan, Xianxia, urban, gaming, military.

He had read many popular works but had never thought of writing one himself.

However, in Lu Chen's memory, online literature in the dream world was also thriving, with similar themes and many classic works etched clearly in his mind, every word and sentence without error! Interestingly, the most read online novels in his third life were those read by Mo Ran, not those by Fang Mingyi, the freelance writer.

If Lu Chen had not pursued a career in music and had instead brought these works from the dream world to online literature websites, he could have made a fortune.

Art is interconnected, and online literature is no exception!

The script he was currently writing was not based on an existing novel but was a reworking of storylines from TV plays he had watched, re-editing and reorganizing the content. As for his experience in scriptwriting, that came from Fang Mingyi.

From yesterday until now, Lu Chen had already typed out a 5,000-word story outline and 30,000 words for the first two episodes of the script! At first, his speed was slow; he could only manage about a thousand words in an hour.

However, once he got the hang of it, his speed increased, and today he typed over 20,000 words on the keyboard. At this rate, the script for the 20-episode TV play would be completed within 10 days.

Just as he finished typing the second episode, his phone rang.

Lin Zhijie?

Seeing the phone number on the screen, Lu Chen immediately answered, "Director Lin, what can I do for you?"

After some recent collaboration, he had developed a good relationship with the director at Flying Stone Records, and they could joke with each other, considering themselves friends.

However, the voice on the other end was a shy female voice: "Teacher Lu, it's Xiaochu. Are you resting?"

Mu Xiaochu?

Lu Chen was taken aback for a moment, then smiled and said, "I'm still working. Do you need something?"

Mu Xiaochu clearly sighed in relief and said, "I'm at the company. Director Lin and the others are here. He asked me to tell you that our album is selling very well. Thank you!"

Lu Chen remembered that tonight was the launch day for MSN's "Not Yet Lovers."

It was normal for them and the people at Flying Stone Records to keep an eye on the sales results, especially since Lin Zhijie had invited him over the phone yesterday.

However, he had been so busy writing the script that he had completely forgotten about it. Lu Chen smiled and said, "No need to thank me; I'm just doing my job. I really want to congratulate you!"

With "Not Yet Lovers" selling well, MSN would undoubtedly soar with the strength of Flying Stone Records. This is the benefit of having an organization and backers, unlike Lu Chen, who had to rely on his own hard work to earn opportunities and still got easily eliminated during auditions.

But he would not regret the path he chose. After chatting with Mu Xiaochu for a few more minutes, Lu Chen hung up the phone.

He was well aware of why Lin Zhijie had Mu Xiaochu call him with good news; it was also a good thing for him. The better "Not Yet Lovers" sold, the higher the value of Lu Chen's work.

In the past, he had quoted prices of over 100,000, even 300,000 for a song, which had scared off countless people. Everyone thought he was just a newcomer and dared to ask for top-tier prices, which seemed outrageous.

Aside from Qingyu Media, which had tasted the benefits, hardly anyone was willing to be a fool. As a result, Lu Chen had sold very few works.

However, the current situation was completely different. With "My Old Classmate" as a foundation, along with the hot sales of MSN's "Not Yet Lovers" and the upcoming new album from Chen Fei'er, he had established a high profile in the show business community, planting a flag with his own name.

He could definitely raise his prices even higher, comparable to the big names! This was not greed on Lu Chen's part; rather, the price represented status, and status in turn determined the price.

If the two were mismatched, unless there were other reasons like personal connections, it would be laughed at.

Ding dong—

Just as Lu Chen set down his phone and prepared to continue typing the third episode of the script, the doorbell rang.

Who could it be?

He felt surprised and got up to open the door. It was past midnight, and Lu Chen was the only one in the workshop; no other employees were around.

However, in this building, many employees from other companies were working late into the night, and some even lived in their offices. It could be a neighbor coming over to borrow a bag of coffee.

But when Lu Chen opened the door, the person standing in front of him left him dumbfounded!

"Sister Fei?"

Although the other party had disguised herself and was wearing sunglasses at this late hour, Lu Chen recognized her at a glance.

It was actually Chen Fei'er!

Chen Fei'er was holding a large bag and smiled as she took off her glasses, asking,

"Aren't you going to welcome me?"

"Welcome, warmly welcome!" Lu Chen immediately perked up and quickly said, "It's just so late."

'What was she doing here at his workshop?'

Chen Fei'er shook the bag in her hand and said, "I know you're going to work late, so I brought you some late-night snacks."

A warm feeling surged in Lu Chen's heart.

From strangers to acquaintances and now to close friends, their relationship had been growing closer with constant contact. They had just chatted on Fei Xin, so Chen Fei'er knew he was working late in the workshop.

Lu Chen hadn't expected her to personally bring him late-night snacks.

He was genuinely touched!

Chen Fei'er smiled and said, "Why are you in a daze? Aren't you going to invite me in to sit?"

"Come in quickly."

Lu Chen hurriedly took the bag from her hand, led her inside, and then closed the door.

Chen Fei'er was quite at ease as she followed Lu Chen into the workshop.

This wasn't her first time visiting Lu Chen's workshop. She immediately noticed the document displayed on the computer screen and her eyes lit up: "You're still writing the script?"

"Yeah." Lu Chen placed the bag down and then moved a chair for her to sit: "I just finished the second episode."

Chen Fei'er asked, "Can you print it out for me to take a look?"

That was no problem; the workshop was equipped with a laser printer.

Lu Chen printed out the completed story outline along with the scripts for the first two episodes and handed them to Chen Fei'er. Chen Fei'er took the still-warm printed pages and said, "You should eat quickly; it won't taste good if it gets cold."

Her gaze fell on the black words on the white paper, and curiosity shone in her eyes.

A few days ago, when Lu Chen mentioned he was going to write a script and be the protagonist, Chen Fei'er thought he was just upset about being brushed off during casting and didn't take it seriously.

However, this thick stack of paper indicated that Lu Chen was serious! This made Chen Fei'er very curious about what kind of story Lu Chen would write.

She had never known that Lu Chen had this talent.

But his lyrics had always been well-written.

While her mind was filled with thoughts, Chen Fei'er's attention remained focused on the manuscript.

The first thing she saw was the title of the script, called - Autumn in My Heart.

That was a rather unique name! As Chen Fei'er began reading the story outline, Lu Chen was busy with the late-night snacks she had brought.

Two McDonald's Big Macs, a large cup of rich coffee, and a box of fruit salad, enough for an ordinary couple to share. At this hour, if he ate all this, he would probably gain quite a bit of fat.

But Lu Chen was different; he exercised a lot every day, so he could burn off those calories by the next morning. Thus, he didn't need to worry about anything and dug in while it was still hot.

This satisfying late-night snack was completely finished by Lu Chen in just 10 minutes, and afterward, he went to the bathroom to rinse his mouth. When he returned to the room, he found that Chen Fei'er's expression was not quite right.

Lu Chen asked in surprise, "Sister Fei, what's wrong?"

Chen Fei'er's eyes were red, and she gently shook the manuscript in her hand, saying, "This story is really good."

She had finished reading the outline and understood what the story was about.

"I really like it!" Chen Fei'er stood up, looking at Lu Chen earnestly, and said, "If it gets filmed, I want to play the role of Yin Enxi!"

"Ah?" Lu Chen smiled wryly, "Yin Enxi?"

Yin Enxi was the heroine, the younger sister of the male protagonist! Chen Fei'er pouted, "Is that out of the question? Do you think I'm too old to play this role?"

Lu Chen immediately raised his hands in surrender, "No problem, I couldn't ask for more!"

Putting age aside, Chen Fei'er looked young enough, and with the right makeup, she could easily portray the character.

Moreover, if she could join this TV play, it would save millions in promotional costs!

Most importantly, he would get to act alongside Chen Fei'er.

Lu Chen felt that if he didn't agree, he would be a complete fool. Hearing his agreement, Chen Fei'er revealed a charming smile and softly said, "Close your eyes."

What is this?

Lu Chen obediently closed his eyes.

The next moment, he smelled a fragrance like orchids and musk, and then something soft and slightly moist touched his left cheek. He then heard Chen Fei'er whispering in his ear, "This is a reward from your sister."

Lu Chen's heart warmed, and he immediately opened his eyes, stretching out his arms to tightly embrace the beautiful woman in front of him!

It was unbearable to resist!
