Passerby Villain In A Wizard World

Chapter 244: Cocoon That Is About To Hatch (4)

"Authority? What is this Authority you are talking about?"

Ian hurriedly asked after finding a similar term he saw on the System panel.

"Authority is just like rules, but it is related to the Spirit Realm. It is a broad term..."

Ignysyl thought for a while and said,

"For example, no one can enter the spirit realm in their material form normally. But if you want to, you have to have the power to circumvent those rules. And Authority allows that and many more. It depends on what kind of Authority one has."

"Oh, that's good to hear."

After hearing his words, Ian suddenly showed a smile, causing Ignysyl to tilt his head in confusion.

But before he could ask, the silent door in front suddenly began to shake strongly, and the passage that was obscured before became visible; although you still couldn't see what was inside.

"Everyone, the Atali Ruin has been opened. Everyone who has registered can enter the place to explore as they want."

Suddenly, a stern voice shouted from above, followed by the appearance of the Wizard, who was registering everyone.

Only now could Ian see that this wizard was actually a Third Ring Wizard from his aura.

After seeing that everyone was paying attention, the figure in the sky nodded and explained a bit,

"According to higher-ups, this is a low-level ruin and isn't too large. So, everything you earn will be yours. You guys are quite lucky."

He smiled and warned,

"Just be careful and don't fight among yourselves if possible, as there might be some dangers inside."

"As per our knowledge, this ruin will be open for only two months, then it will disappear on its own. So, don't forget to return in time."

"Okay, now you all may enter."

The Wizard waved his hand, signaling everyone to enter, while he once again appeared on the tent. It seemed he had no interest in this place.

"Hey, see if you can teleport us to the place with high fire elemental energy after we enter the gate."

Seeing everyone rushing headlong to the gate one after another in groups, Ian also walked forward. But he didn't forget to remind Ignysyl on the way.

As far as he knew, the Atali Ruin would automatically scatter the people who entered through its gate. So, where you would land was up to luck.

But he had Ignysyl with him, so he could cheat. According to the map he got from Ron, what he wanted was located in a place with high fire elemental energy.

"Okay, don't worry."

After getting a response from the dragon, Ian stepped into the gate after his turn had arrived.

"Swish!"

Suddenly, Ian felt his vision shift, followed by the extreme temperature causing him to sweat bullets in seconds. Only when the amulet in his neck activated, automatically shielding him inside, did he feel good.

"Is this the place you want to go to?"

Unlike Ian, though, Ignysyl was perfectly fine as he was a fire elemental dragon in the first place.

Even seeing Ian's reaction, he just waved his paw a bit, casing the area around them to become vacant.

"Yeah, this must be the one."

Ian nodded with a smile as he saw the towering structure ahead. Although it was all broken and old, Ian could see from its silhouette that it was a wizard tower.

And from how it was located in such a place with rich fire elemental mana, it must be either related to Alchemy or Blacksmithing, although the map he had said the former.

"I just hope we will find the recipe we need. It is now time to reach First Ring Wizard."

"Yeah, me too."

Ignysyl also nodded, then suddenly looked in one direction,

"But first, let's get rid of a rat first. Do you want to do it or should I?"

He said, flaring up the fiery prongs around his body as if he were ready for a good fight.

Seeing his serious look, Ian rolled his eyes speechlessly,

"Save your energy for the upcoming trial. There is no need to waste your energy on such a weak opponent."

After saying that, Ian looked towards his right side, only a flickering light flashing away from that position.

"Well, you are quite the cautious one, huh. Unfortunately, your luck has run out."

Ian was surprised how fast that figure tried to run as soon as he looked in that direction. But before that light could disappear through Ian suddenly took one step, appearing directly next to it, causing it to halt in place.

Ian's movement was quite weird as he wasn't using a spell, nor was he using teleportation. But still he managed to reach such a far distance in a single step.

"Isn't it rude to run away like this? Why don't you attack after waiting for so long?"

Ian asked the black robed person in front. Although he couldn't see the appearance, he was absolutely sure this person was one of the apprentices in their group.

"Friend, I was just being cautious. You know what kind of place this is. And I think you misunderstood me, I never wanted to harm you in the first place."

Hearing Ian's sarcastic words, the hooded figure talked in a warm male voice, appearing as amiable as possible.

However, he found out that Ian wasn't listening to him at all but looking at his robe, or more precisely, at his hands that he had hidden under his robe.

"A curse object? Are you trying to curse me?"

Ian raised his eyebrows as he was quite surprised. Although the robe was an artifact capable of concealment, this much was nothing for him.

As soon as Ian pointed out the things he was holding in his hands, the hooded figure hurriedly backed away as if afraid.

Then he looked at Ian with his dark eyes and said,

"So, you are also a dark Wizard, huh. No wonder you are mumbling to something right now? Did that spirit or something tell you about me?"

The person asked while slowly taking out the staff from his mana ring.

In his opinion, he was hidden quite well with his advanced-level artifact, Shadow Cloak.

But Ian could easily pinpoint his location. And from his mumbling he heard just now, he thought Ian had some spirit with him. It wasn't weird for a wizard to have those things, especially a dark wizard.

"Haha, yeah. You can be quite unlucky as my spirit finds your hiding spot. Well, he is quite powerful, you know."

Ian laughed and joked, causing Ignysyl to roll his eyes.

"Figured. Anyway, since we are both dark wizards, I don't think we need to fight among ourselves. What do you think?"

The hooded figure asked while looking at Ian intently. After finding Ian was a tough guy, he had already changed his earlier plan to attack.

He had always been a cautious person. But unfortunately, his caution wasn't enough as he suddenly heard Ian's voice, but not from the front but from his side.

"Well, it will be believable if you aren't still trying to curse me with that doll."

"Wha-"

"Swish!"

Before the guy could express surprise at Ian's sudden appearance at the back, he was suddenly a sharp object directly slashing his neck like a piece of tofu.

"Thud!"

Poor guy couldn't even stop shouting as his body and head fell to the ground, tumbling around a bit.

Along with them, a grotesque doll slipped from his lifeless hand, tumbling to the ground—its twisted face frozen in eerie detail, with needles stabbed into various parts of its body.

Just like Ian said, this guy was clearly preparing to curse him. Although Ian wasn't afraid, but what if?

He heard that some curses were so weird and dangerous that even the top-level wizard had a headache dealing with them.

He wasn't going to take chances like this with his life.

"Inferno Burst!"

So, without checking the loot on the body, Ian directly used a fire-type spell, burning both the dead body and the doll to cinders.

"Let's go. It seems quite a few people came here. We need to be fast. If someone got all the stuff before us, it will be bad."

Ian said to Ignysyl and hurriedly left as he could see quite a few mana signatures from afar. It seemed they weren't alone here.

Ian had already memorized the map Ron gave him, but it only provided a general direction inside the wizard tower. It wasn't much help—just a mention of a Wizard Garden and an Alchemy Lab.

"Haha... don't worry. Aren't I here?"

Hearing Ian's concern, Ignysyl instead suddenly laughed with glee and flew from Ian's shoulder.

"Hmm? Did you sense something?"

Ian asked hopefully. The Life Quest had already urged him to reach First Ring Wizard quickly—the sooner he did, the greater the reward. So, if possible, he didn't want to waste his time here.

"Hehe... you are underestimating me too much. Just follow me."

Ignysyl smiled slyly and suddenly fell in one direction after asking Ian to follow. And surprisingly, the place where he was heading wasn't in the Tower's direction at all.
