Orochimaru’s Magic Lamp

Chapter 183: Chapter 183

Boom!

Uchiha Shinsuke crashed hard into the ground, his body smeared with mud, dust, and broken stone—just like an ordinary person.

He didn't get up right away. Instead, he sat there in a daze, unable—or unwilling—to process what had just happened.

No, that wasn't quite right. He understood it, logically. But emotionally, he couldn't accept it.

Conflicting thoughts churned in his mind. The red glow in his Sharingan flickered faintly, too unstable for him to take the most rational next step:

Track the enemy. Assess the situation. Ask for help.

But all Shinsuke could think about was one simple, brutal fact:

He had bled.

He wasn't a shadow clone.

He had been stabbed.

And someone had taken his real body.

Uchiha Shinsuke wasn't a fool. In fact, he was dangerously intelligent—he'd already pieced together what happened. But that didn't mean he had processed it.

Like many members of the Uchiha clan, the clearer the logic, the deeper the emotional spiral. And right now, he was trapped in a loop of replaying that last moment, unable to move forward.

Unless something—or someone—intervened, he could stay like this forever.

But Yakushi Kabuto wouldn't be coming back.

And the masked man, after dragging Kabuto into another dimension, seemed to have lost interest in Shinsuke. He hadn't attacked again.

Moonlight filtered through the trees. The jungle was quiet once more. Only the occasional chirp of insects broke the silence, as if peace had returned.

Shua—

A gust of wind. Jiraiya landed lightly nearby, eyes scanning the scene. When he saw Shinsuke frozen in place, he frowned slightly.

"What happened here? Where did the enemy go?"

The question snapped Shinsuke out of his trance. He shot to his feet, panic in his voice.

"Not good, Lord Jiraiya! Kabuto—he was taken by a masked man!"

"Huh?"

Jiraiya's expression was one of complete confusion.

-------

Elsewhere, in the different space—

When Kabuto was pulled in, every cell in his body buzzed with numbness.

Luckily, he was already in Sage Mode. Even with a dagger embedded in his chest, he recovered just before hitting the cold, hard platform.

He flipped forward and landed on his feet.

Gripping the dagger, he yanked it from his chest. Green chakra glowed in his hand as he began healing the wound, all while taking in his surroundings.

Dark. Cold. Empty. This wasn't just a place—it felt like a manifestation of someone's heart. Just as Lord Orochimaru had said.

"As a traitor, your behavior is confusing."

A voice echoed from above.

Obito stood on a high platform, arms folded, looking down at Kabuto.

"You already betrayed Konoha. Why hold back? If you hadn't tried to save that fool, you wouldn't be here right now."

Kabuto licked the blood from his fingertips and smiled.

"Misunderstanding. I was never Konoha's ninja. Betrayal? That implies loyalty. The only one I've ever served... is Lord Orochimaru."

Obito's Sharingan gleamed.

"Loyalty? You're just making trouble for Orochimaru now."

His gaze sharpened, probing for weakness.

"Or... is this part of Orochimaru's plan?"

Kabuto smirked, taunting:

"You sound bitter. Is it because he almost killed you last time?"

He sneered.

"Even after being run through the heart, you survived. Like a cockroach that refuses to die."

Obito's eyes flared with fury.

"You still don't understand your position. In this space, no one escapes without my permission."

"Is that so?"

Kabuto bit his finger, forming hand signs.

"Summoning Jutsu!"

Boom!

White smoke exploded outward as a giant green snake emerged, lifting Kabuto into the air.

Obito's eyes narrowed. This sudden appearance stirred bad memories.

Now perched atop the snake, Kabuto adjusted his glasses and looked down at Obito.

"I'll let it slide this time. But speak to me like that again, and I'll kill you."

With a loud puff, the snake vanished. Moments later, Kabuto disappeared too.

Obito stood in silence.

"Kill me? What nonsense..."

His eyes were cold. Whether it was Kabuto's words or the humiliation of his escape, something burned inside him.

The air warped. A vortex spun around him—and in a blink, he reappeared on a treetop.

From within the trunk, Zetsu's head emerged.

"How'd it go? Did he agree to join the Akatsuki?"

Obito glanced sideways.

"He escaped. You handle the cleanup."

"...Huh?!"

Zetsu tilted his head.

"Escaped? Didn't you pull him into another dimension?"

Obito was quiet for a moment before answering.

"Yeah. But he got away—using a summoned beast."

He explained the scene in more detail.

Until now, Kamui had been unbeatable. Once someone was in the alternate space, it was game over.

But this time… Orochimaru's minion hadn't been knocked out, and Kabuto managed to escape.

If he couldn't figure out how... he'd be at a major disadvantage next time.

White Zetsu looked clueless, but Black Zetsu's eyes gleamed.

"It was likely one of the Three Great Sage Lands' summoning beasts. Reverse summoning—extremely rare. Requires a special scroll."

Obito's expression darkened as the pieces clicked into place.

"I see..."

And with that realization, his mood turned grim. The ability was unique to the three great Sage Lands and required the use of special summoning scrolls. Obito recalled that his former teacher, Namikaze Minato—who had ties to Mount Myōboku—also used this technique for summoning and communication.

Obito had always believed that if he had understood the Flying Thunder God technique better back then, he might have been able to ambush Minato and trap him in Kamui's dimension, sealing the victory.

But now, he realized the truth: even if he had succeeded at the time, it would've been meaningless. Minato could have escaped just as easily—just like Kabuto had done moments ago.

That bitter realization twisted in his chest.

He turned and glared at Black Zetsu.

"Why didn't you mention this sooner?"

None of this had appeared in the records left by Uchiha Madara.

Black Zetsu lowered his gaze slightly and replied in a calm, even tone.

"It's been too long... I didn't think of it."

In truth, that wasn't a lie. Black Zetsu knew very little about the Three Great Sage Lands. Throughout history, although many had trained in Sage Mode, those with such power were usually extremely perceptive—dangerous to approach. Most of the information Zetsu had gathered was indirect at best.

As for Uchiha Madara, despite being on par with the First Hokage in strength, he had no affinity for Sage Arts, never formed a contract with any of the sacred lands, and knew nothing about reverse summoning.

Obito's eyes glinted red.

"It seems we've underestimated Kabuto's threat."

He paused, then added,

"There's still a summoning beast from Ryūchi Cave involved. Does that mean Kabuto is in contact with Orochimaru?"

Black Zetsu dismissed the concern with a shake of the head.

"That's not something to worry about. For centuries, only Mount Myōboku has taken a clear stance. Ryūchi Cave and Shikkotsu Forest have always remained neutral. They offer help only to those they acknowledge individually."

"For instance," he continued, "the Third Kazekage, killed by Sasori, had once contracted a giant beast from Ryūchi Cave. That didn't imply any alliance with Orochimaru."

Obito nodded slowly.

"Understood. Find Kabuto—immediately."
