Chapter 147: Chapter 147: One Stone, Several Birds
"Hee hee hee… It's done. The peace agreement they signed? Kumogakure will never recognize it."
The corners of 'Tetsuya's' mouth twisted into an unnaturally wide grin. His body began to writhe and shift grotesquely until it reverted to a pale, white humanoid form—White Zetsu.
This transformation was one of White Zetsu's unique techniques, allowing him to perfectly mimic a person's chakra and appearance. Neither Byakugan nor Sharingan—not even the Mangekyō Sharingan—could see through it.
Obito gave a subtle nod, then changed the disguise's clothing back to Gelo Ya's attire.
He left behind an illegible letter and a timed explosive, then vanished into a swirling vortex, taking White Zetsu with him.

Hyuga Clan Grounds – Late Night
The night had grown deep.
Hiashi Hyuga stood alone in the courtyard, moving in practiced, flowing steps. Chakra pulsed from the tenketsu across his body, forming a spiraling shield—Rotation (Kaiten).
Ever since the humiliation he suffered at the hands of Orochimaru, Hiashi had thrown himself into repeated training of the technique. He knew revenge was beyond him, but in the perfect form of this defensive art, he found fleeting moments of peace.
Eventually, drenched in sweat, Hiashi halted, letting out a bitter chuckle.
"Who am I trying to fool..."
Just then, a shadow flickered across his vision—snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Hinata?!"
A man cloaked in black darted past him, holding a small child in his arms.
Hiashi's heart froze. It was Hinata—his daughter.
"Stop! Who are you? Put her down!"
He gave chase immediately, his steps echoing across the courtyard. The commotion roused members of the Hyuga branch family on patrol. Upon seeing the child in the stranger's arms, their expressions turned grim.
The entire Hyuga estate erupted in chaos.
With Byakugan's range spanning kilometers, the intruder stood no chance of escape. In mere moments, he was surrounded by Hyuga clansmen.
"Release her now, and I may let you live."
Hiashi's voice was low and deadly. His eyes glowed white with intensity, tracking every motion the masked man made.
A branch member shouted, "Patriarch! Be careful—he has foreign chakra in his body. He might be under a genjutsu!"
Hiashi didn't flinch. He had already noticed the foreign chakra—and the crude transformation technique. But none of that mattered now.
Saving Hinata came first.
The intruder glanced around, realizing he was surrounded—and let out a cold, bitter laugh. With a flick of his wrist, he pulled a kunai from his sleeve and thrust it toward Hinata's neck.
"Don't you dare!"
Hiashi surged forward. Chakra surged through his palms as he struck with the Gentle Fist.
In a flash, the kunai halted just at Hinata's throat—but Hiashi's strike had already landed. His twin palms crashed into the man's chest, sending him flying.
Boom.
The masked man crashed hard to the ground. Hiashi caught Hinata mid-fall, holding her close as he glared at the unmoving figure.
A moment later, a branch member approached and peeled off the black hood. His face paled in shock.
"This is… the leader of the Kumogakure delegation!"
Gasps and murmurs rippled through the crowd. But Hiashi stood still, his expression cold and grim.
He understood it now.
Everything that happened tonight was a setup.
…
"Tetsuya is dead."
Outside the Hyuga compound, Zetsu rose halfway out of the ground. "The timed explosive also went off early. If Kumogakure's tracking seals are working properly, they'll be here soon."
Obito gave a small nod. "I've tested their tracking method."
After the first assassination attempt on the peace delegation, Obito—through his manipulation of Kumogakure's leadership—had proposed placing chakra-tracking spells on all envoys to ensure safety and accountability. That way, even if something went wrong, their locations would be immediately known.
That's why, when Kakuzu and Sasori killed the mission leader the second time, they couldn't even collect a bounty. Kumogakure's trackers found them almost immediately and chased them down relentlessly.
To disable such seals, one would need a powerful sealing technique—or to completely destroy the body.
But the Hyuga clan specializes in Gentle Fist, not sealing jutsu. Obito doubted they'd conveniently have a sealing expert hiding among them.
As for destroying the body? Glora's corpse had been rigged with traps. Tamper with it incorrectly, and it would detonate. The wreckage would unmistakably prove his identity.
In other words, the Hyuga clan was cornered. There was no way out of this trap.
Obito exhaled softly. "What a pity. In just a few months, the Uchiha's relationship with the village had actually improved…"
If tensions had still been high, this incident could have dragged the Uchiha into the conflict too—along with Hinata, Konoha, and Kumogakure. It would've been perfect chaos.
Zetsu raised a brow at Obito's smug tone. "All this over a single jōnin? Are you sure Kumogakure will flip over it?"
"He wasn't just a jōnin," Obito replied flatly. "He was tied to the peace negotiations—negotiations filled with one-sided terms. Kumogakure would never have accepted them."
He glanced at Zetsu. "Now they have the perfect excuse to walk away. And those diplomats returning home? Before, they'd have been disgraced. Now they come back as victims of betrayal."
Obito smirked.
"They'll cling to this. You'll see."
Zetsu remained quiet, clearly missing the deeper implications. Obito turned away, his thoughts drifting.
Compared to Black Zetsu… this one's really not that bright.
---
Elsewhere, deep in a hidden lab…
As Obito vanished into his swirling vortex, the Djinn retracted a long, slender tentacle and scratched his head lazily.
"Tsk tsk… why is that guy always stirring up chaos in Konoha? What's the deal, anyway?"
"If he's so full of hate, wouldn't it be easier to just use Kamui and pick them off one by one? Skip the jōnin if they're risky—just start with the chunin. Easy targets."
Grumbling to himself, the Djinn gave up trying to make sense of it. The mind of a lunatic was its own dimension.
Another performance artist. Can't just kill someone. No—he needs 'war,' 'fate,' and 'disaster' written on a banner while he does it. Pretentious.
All this just to mess with Konoha, stir up a feud between bloodline clans and ordinary ninja? What a circus. If I don't remind him whose turf this is, I'll be dishonoring Orochimaru's title as the Head of the "Bloodshade Sanctuary."
Grinning at the thought, the Djinn slipped into Orochimaru's subconscious and, just for fun, queued up a twisted remix of an old tune from when Orochimaru still walked as a man.
"Hey… wake up. Someone's stealing your lunch."
