Chapter 113: Chapter 113 Bonds of Brotherhood
The forest hummed with life as Ace and Luffy faced a roaring black bear. Their makeshift weapons—worn water pipes—felt inadequate as they stared down the imposing beast.
"Luffy, same plan as before. I'll go left, you go right. We hit it from both sides," Ace commanded, his face tense.
"Got it!" Luffy nodded, gripping his pipe tighter.
Just as they moved into position, a figure appeared between them and the bear. The black bear charged, teeth bared, but the figure didn't budge.
"Danger! Get out of the way!" Ace yelled.
The figure turned, revealing Satoru's calm expression. "What a naughty pet," he muttered. A wave of invisible force radiated from him as he released a fraction of his Conqueror's Haki.
The bear skidded to a halt, trembling. After a moment of hesitation, it bolted into the woods, faster than it had come.
Ace and Luffy were stunned. The beast that had terrified them was reduced to a quivering mess in mere seconds.
"Who... who are you?" Ace demanded, his tone sharp, masking his confusion.
Satoru smirked. "The better question is—aren't you the son of Gol D. Roger?"
Ace froze, anger flaring in his eyes. "How do you know that? Who the hell are you?"
Before Ace could lash out further, Luffy's voice rang out. "Satoru! It's you!"
"Luffy!" Satoru grinned. "It's been a while. I'm surprised you remember me."
"Of course! You're my other brother—the strong one! The one I never beat in a fight!" Luffy exclaimed proudly, as if losing every time was an achievement.
"Brother?" Ace echoed, his suspicion growing.
"That's right," Satoru replied, turning to Ace. "And if you're Luffy's brother, that makes me your brother too."
Ace scoffed. "Not a chance! I'm not calling you that!"
"Well," Satoru teased, "if you think you're stronger than me, prove it."
---
Ace lunged, pipe in hand, but no matter how hard he swung, Satoru dodged effortlessly. Frustrated, Ace resorted to a flurry of punches and kicks, but none connected.
"Damn it! How are you doing this?" Ace panted.
"My turn," Satoru said casually. He vanished, reappeared behind Ace, and lightly flicked his forehead. The blow sent Ace staggering.
Ace dropped his pipe, clutching his head. "What kind of monster are you?"
"A stronger one," Satoru chuckled. "Looks like I win. Guess you'll have to call me 'brother' now."
Gritting his teeth, Ace muttered, "Fine... brother."
---
Back at Dadan's hideout, the bandits gawked as Satoru carried Luffy in one hand and Ace in the other, arriving in an instant.
"You're an admiral now?" Dadan asked, her tone a mix of pride and disbelief.
Satoru flashed a grin. "Yep, Admiral White Dragon at your service."
The room fell silent. Luffy and Ace stared at him, jaws slack.
"Wait, you're *that* strong?" Ace blurted.
"Pretty much," Satoru said smugly.
Luffy, undeterred by titles, piped up. "You'll never catch me, though. I'm going to be the King of the Pirates!"
Satoru raised an eyebrow. "Really? You want to be a pirate while I'm in the Navy? Maybe I should arrest you right now."
"No! I'm not a pirate yet!" Luffy yelped, hiding behind Ace.
The room erupted into laughter. Even Ace smirked at his brother's antics.
---
Later that night, Ace sat beside Satoru under the stars. "Tell me about the sea. What's it like out there?"
Satoru smiled. "The sea is vast. It's filled with wonders, dangers, and people chasing their dreams. You'll meet those who inspire you and those you'll want to take down."
Ace listened intently, his gaze thoughtful. "What do you think of my father?"
Satoru's smile faded. "Gol D. Roger? He started the Pirate Era. To me, he's a villain."
Ace flinched but stayed silent.
"That's my view," Satoru continued. "But if you want the truth, seek out those who knew him. Visit the Chambord Archipelago and find Silvers Rayleigh—your father's first mate. He'll tell you who Roger really was."
Ace nodded, determination lighting his eyes. "Thanks."
Satoru ruffled his hair. "No problem, brother."
As the night deepened, Ace made a silent vow: one day, he'd uncover the truth about his father—and forge his own path.
