Chapter 71: Chapter 71: Granpa Garp (1/2)

In the eyes of everyone, Iggy uttered a single word—and dealt the proud Shanks a resounding slap in the face.

Taking advantage of the red-haired pirate crew's collective shock, Iggy raised his left hand. Black tentacles erupted, flying toward Shanks with the intent to bind the Yonko in a single strike.

"All units, attack!"

With that sharp command, Iggy's allies surged forward.

Red-Haired Shanks, battle-hardened and instinctively aware of the murderous intent, drew his sword in a flash, slicing through the oncoming black tendrils with a series of sharp slashes.

"Clang!" The next moment, his blade locked with Hiru's as the swordsman lunged from the shadows of the tentacles. Sparks flew as Shanks' saber met the deadly edge of Hiru's cursed blade.

"Accept your fate, Red-Hair."

From afar, Van Augur knelt with his rifle, calmly aiming. He fired three precise shots toward Shanks.

Jesus Burgess leapt from among the Red-Hair Pirates, intercepting midair. As he landed, his pistols barked—each shot expertly countering Van Augur's bullets mid-flight. The six shells fell harmlessly to the ground with a metallic clatter.

"Nine-Tailed Fox!"

"Gengetsu Hunter" Devon transformed using her Zoan-type Devil Fruit. With a sharp roar, she charged forward on four limbs, racing toward Shanks.

Gunshots rang out. Dust burst under her paws as she darted left and right, narrowly avoiding a shot from Beckman. Just as she lunged to bite Shanks, Beckman stepped in front of his captain, drawing his dagger and blocking her fangs with grit and force.

"Fire Fist!"

Ace arrived with blazing intensity, his right arm engulfed in flames. He hurled a massive column of fire straight toward Shanks.

Lucky Roux stepped in, his enormous frame coated in Armament Haki. The inferno engulfed him—but as the fire faded, he stood unharmed, casually munching on a roasted drumstick with a bemused look.

While the others engaged the Red-Hair Pirates, Iggy had only one target in mind.

The Admiral.

Using Geppo, he soared into the sky, launching himself toward the high platform where Sengoku, in his golden Buddha form, towered like a living temple.

Sengoku swung his massive arm, attempting to swat down the intruder, but Iggy's speed was too fast. He closed the gap in a heartbeat.

"Die."

White light flickered around his fist as Iggy delivered a crushing punch to Sengoku's forehead.

A deep crack split open at the point of impact. The shockwave tore through the Buddha's head and collapsed the naval building behind it.

Even with Sengoku's legendary toughness, the blow was devastating. His eyes rolled back, blood spilling from his ears, eyes, and mouth. Behind him, a large portion of the headquarters crumbled to the ground.

"Woohoo!"

The Shock Fruit's lingering vibrations left Sengoku disoriented, barely conscious.

Seizing the moment, Iggy stretched out his left hand again. A massive pool of darkness spread beneath the golden giant, and countless black tendrils lashed upward, wrapping the Buddha in a cocoon of shadows.

"Black Vortex."

Harnessing the Dark-Dark Fruit's power, Iggy began draining Sengoku's Devil Fruit ability through the tendrils. Even a fleet admiral couldn't defy the laws of nature.

The golden light of the Buddha form faded, and Sengoku's body gradually shrank back to its human size.

"Shock Fist."

Still dazed, Sengoku clutched his face in agony.

Then Iggy, high above, dove like a vengeful hawk toward his target. This would be the third and final use of his earthquake ability for the day—his most powerful blow.

This was it. The killing strike that would bring down the head of the Navy.

A white light flared from his fist.

"That's enough, boy!"

Before Iggy could connect, a massive figure in a Marine coat appeared beside him, swinging a fist with terrifying force.

BANG!

The punch crashed into Iggy's face. He spiraled downward like a meteor, slamming into the ruins below and raising a thick cloud of dust.

As the haze settled, Sengoku—still dazed but alive—opened his eyes to see a familiar figure standing protectively before him.

It was the Navy's final bulwark. The living legend. The Hero of the Marines—

Monkey D. Garp.

"…Garp… Grandpa…"

Staggering to his feet from the rubble, Iggy stared up blankly at the man who had just struck him.

His face twisted with emotion. In that moment, he knew. That punch—the sheer weight behind it, the pain in his jaw—could only belong to one person.

The same man who had fished him out of the sea years ago, after his fall from Mary Geoise.

The same man who raised him on Mt. Colubo, alongside Ace, Sabo, and Luffy.

The one who taught him the Six Powers and Armament Haki, gave him a home, and never once asked for anything in return.

The only person who had ever truly loved him—

Monkey D. Garp.

As Iggy stood there, staring at the tall, immovable figure on the high platform, memories came flooding back.

Memories of training. Of laughter. Of warmth.

Memories he had tried to forget.

His heart, once hardened into steel for the sake of vengeance—for his mother, for Sabo—suddenly wavered.

For years, he had buried his emotions.

But now, looking at the one man he could still call family… he hesitated.

His fists lowered ever so slightly.

And his brows drew together in silent pain.

"…Even you… want to stop me?"
