Chapter 34: Evolution
Seeing all the lightning bolts converging directly above him, Tiberion grinned from ear to ear.
It was a smile fueled by overwhelming emotion from deep within. Raising both arms toward the sky, he welcomed death.
And then it happened!
The area lit up with a blinding light. The first bolt came down like a spear and struck him in the chest, right over the sternum, crossing his body diagonally until it exploded against the ship's mast.
The impact didn't move him an inch. The skin over his left pectoral disintegrated—
But there was no scream. Only a faint, rising chuckle from a being who seemed to enjoy the pain.
!
Another bolt struck his right shoulder, descending like a snake that devoured muscle tissue, burning every fiber in its path until it reached the bicep, which sizzled like meat in boiling oil. Yet another descended upon his abdomen, ripping through the abdominal muscles.
Every inch of skin the lightning touched turned black and split open, revealing the inner muscle fibers—and beyond them, gleaming white bones.
Yet those bones didn't change. They were made of a density that surpassed any known metal.
The muscles burned. The blood boiled. The veins burst one after another. But the bones remained, holding everything together. As long as they stood, his marrow would continue producing that dense blood, saturated with life.
While the storm tore him apart from the outside, his body kept rebuilding itself from within.
!
The pirates stood completely petrified. The electric glow lit up their faces as if they were standing before Thor himself.
But no—it was a demon clad only in a simple red slip who wouldn't stop smiling.
A wave of fear swept across the entire ship, but it wasn't just fear. There was awe, admiration... and a feeling that bordered on worship, for it was impossible not to feel insignificant.
From the cabin, Shirahoshi watched everything with worry and confusion.
Her pupils dilated upon seeing how her husband's flesh peeled in layers and how the lightning consumed him.
The sound of electricity crackling across his body made her tremble.
And then, her eyes welled up.
Without making a single cry or whimper, the tears began to stream down her cheeks, falling onto the doorway's threshold.
She knew her husband was the strongest… she believed it with all her heart…
But seeing him burn was tearing her apart.
The Sea Kings watched the spectacle in bewilderment. Their gazes remained fixed on the unmoving figure of Tiberion, who, suspended atop the mast, was struck again and again by lightning.
"Cousin… Should we divert the lightning?"
"Let's wait a little longer. Maybe… maybe this human really can withstand it."
What they saw next defied the logic of any living thing.
Tiberion's body was completely engulfed in the fury of a dozen simultaneous lightning bolts.
His flesh disintegrated like nothing. Each bolt devoured him mercilessly.
Tiberion's arms were no longer covered in flesh. The bare white bone protruded. His back had been reduced to a scorched mass of tissue.
His legs, though still allowing him to stand, were seventy percent bone.
And then, a lightning bolt thicker than all the others streaked through the sky and struck him square in the groin, destroying what was left of the red slip that had covered him.
The fabric disintegrated, and Tiberion was left completely exposed beneath the lightning, his penis also enveloped in brief flashes of electricity, enduring with the same stubbornness as the rest of his body.
The pirates on the deck shielded their eyes and turned away.
"He… he doesn't even have clothes on anymore… and yet, that thing doesn't disintegrate… What resilience!"
Shirahoshi, her body pressed to the door, trembled. The tears pouring from her eyes wouldn't stop. Her lips were clenched in fear, her heart beating on the verge of collapse.
But in her eyes shone an undeniable truth: she still believed.
Tiberion clenched his teeth, while his aura kept growing. Though he was little more than bone and willpower, his chest continued to rise, each heartbeat sending regenerative blood from his bone marrow to the most damaged areas.
It was a war. And the flesh was not willing to lose.
"Cousin, should I intervene now?"
"Wait a little longer. This human isn't normal… His will is still so strong, and I feel like if we interfere… he'll devour us."
"So you felt it too… just looking at him makes me feel impending death."
"Then I won't step in unless the Queen commands it."
All the Sea Kings, at this moment, were experiencing something they hadn't felt in a long time: fear.
As if that half-skeletal figure atop the mast wasn't a human being, but the very embodiment of death.
In their minds, the warning was clear. Tiberion, even with his body wrecked by lightning, was telling them: "Don't come closer, or I'll kill you."
His body, now with more than two-thirds of its flesh disintegrated by the lightning, displayed a unique spectacle.
His skeleton gleamed under the flashes of lightning. But just as the scene reached its climax, a series of notifications echoed:
[Congratulations on unlocking direct resistance to lightning. Interpretation rate increased by 5%.]
[All attributes increase by 5%.]
[Total interpretation rate exceeds 50%, reaching 51%.]
[Awakening the Hanma bloodline. Cellular recovery capability: 51%.]
[For details, consult your personal attributes.]
!
A flash of understanding and excitement crossed his mind.
He had finally done it…
The awakening of the Hanma bloodline had begun.
And with it, a new stage of his evolution.
His body, on the brink of extinction, reacted like a wounded beast finally freed from its chains.
BOOM
An explosion of blood energy burst from the depths of his bone marrow. It wasn't just a physical eruption—it was pure vitality, a torrent of life so powerful it pushed away the mist.
At that very moment, all the lightning bolts crashing down in fury were completely absorbed. It was no longer about resistance or endurance.
What Tiberion did was devour the lightning—he absorbed it as if his body had been designed for that very task.
And with that, regeneration became instantaneous.
Muscle began weaving itself back over the intact bones, expanding with a biological ferocity beyond comprehension.
As if each fiber of flesh had its own life, they began to wrap around his bare skeleton, pulsing like individual hearts. In just three seconds, Tiberion was already standing tall again, completely restored—though that word wasn't enough to describe what he had become.
His muscles hadn't just returned. They had doubled in density and hardness. His pectorals looked like a shield, his arms like cannons, and his broad back cast a massive shadow.
And the most astonishing thing was the aura surrounding him now: a golden mist, subtle but tangible.
It was his testosterone.
The testosterone produced by Tiberion's brain, amplified by the awakening of his Hanma bloodline, was now so intense it seemed to affect the very environment.
As he deeply felt the transformation, he began to understand why Dr. Kureha once said this about Yujiro:
"In the eyes of Yujiro Hanma, everyone else was a female creature."
Those words weren't meant as an insult, nor as a simple declaration of superiority. It was a biological fact.
The pheromones he now released were no longer simple hormonal traces. They were like blades that subjected every living creature to a primal instinct of recognition:
This being is above. Beyond desire. Beyond fear.
At this moment, Tiberion was experiencing it firsthand. The world had become smaller—and he, in contrast, more immense.
The pirates on the deck couldn't do anything but swallow hard, their faces flushed, their eyes wide in disbelief.
Even the Sea Kings felt their blood stir, a shiver running through their massive bodies.
The air was becoming completely saturated with testosterone.
No one could look away. No one could ignore it. It was impossible not to feel something in his presence—be it respect, fear, desire, or a mix of all three.
Tiberion raised both arms toward the sky once again, and with a sharp motion, clenched his fists. The cracking sound that followed wasn't just bones aligning—it was a symphony of inner thunder: tendons snapping into place, bones reinforcing, muscles reorganizing to support a new kind of strength.
And then, without warning, he threw a punch into the air.
The result was a shockwave that exploded from his fist, not only distorting the space within a thirty-centimeter radius—it compressed it and crushed it.
The resulting hum was so intense that everyone's eardrums buzzed.
But he didn't stop.
The muscle fibers in his back contracted, forming the image of a demonic face.
His Demon Back was now at 20%.
!
This time, the second blow was monstrous. A discharge of nearly fifty tons of force shook the mast and the entire ship. The air was literally blasted in all directions.
The waves distorted everything around him, and the pirates simply collapsed to their knees, some with ruptured eardrums.
And the Sea Kings exchanged nervous glances.
How was it possible that this tiny human could generate such oppressive pressure…?
How could his mere presence make them feel like simple inferior creatures…?!
Even Shirahoshi couldn't help but be swept away emotionally by what she was seeing.
Her heart was about to burst, her cheeks were burning red, and her eyes sparkled, completely in love.
She couldn't take her eyes off him—her body trembled with an emotion she didn't know how to handle.
She wanted to throw herself at him… she wanted him to hold her, to feel his warmth, his kisses…
!
Realizing what she was thinking, she quickly brought her hands to her face, trying not to look—but her fingers left a gap through which she peeked with desire.
Tiberion, completely naked, crowned by the golden mist, was a sight that would mark her for the rest of her life.
…
Meanwhile, he continued silently reviewing the effects of his recent Hanma bloodline awakening. His physical desire and aggression were skyrocketing uncontrollably.
But there were also benefits: an indestructible body, strength beyond any standard, and near-instant regeneration that would even allow him to recover severed limbs as long as his vital energy remained stable. And now, that energy was at its peak.
His testosterone and vitality levels were erupting like a volcano. His entire body pulsed—a vibration so intense it made the ship itself tremble.
Then, he fixed his gaze on Shirahoshi, and his pupils shrank.
With a slight flex of his hips, he leapt perfectly from the top of the mast down to the ship's deck.
He made no sound upon landing—his muscles absorbed all the impact with ease.
And he began walking toward her, each step on the wooden planks causing a tremor—not from weight, but from the invisible pressure his presence alone exerted—and with that, he began to grow.
His already colossal muscles started expanding even further. His legs lengthened in perfect proportion, his arms stretched like branches, and his torso widened with every breath. The process wasn't slow or clumsy.
Thanks to his recent evolution, this transformation happened in a matter of seconds—from his original 2.5 meters to a monstrous height of thirteen meters.
Despite his towering size, he lost no muscular proportion.
And now he stood before Shirahoshi, who stared at him without blinking, utterly mesmerized.
"H-Husband…"
Tiberion, unmoving, studied her intently, and without taking his eyes off her, extended his arms.
With a fluid motion, his right hand closed around her narrow waist. His fingers pressed gently into her skin, and the contrast between his bronzed complexion and Shirahoshi's pale tone created a visually arousing scene.
As he pulled her against his naked body, his warmth wrapped around her like a blanket.
She felt the quickened beat of his heart against her chest, the sweat gliding across his skin, the electric tension in every muscle. It was as if, through that contact, his very essence was being transmitted directly into her.
And then, without warning, she gave in first.
Her slender arms wrapped desperately around her husband's neck, her fingers tangling in his red hair.
Before Tiberion could react, Shirahoshi's cool lips pressed against his.
The kiss wasn't timid—it was deep and ravenous. Her tongue explored his mouth with a boldness that clashed with her usual docility, and a muffled moan vibrated in her throat.
Her tail coiled around his lower back like a mating anaconda, with enough force to crack the vertebrae of an ordinary man—though from him, it only drew a grunt of approval.
Shirahoshi's pelvis rocked in spasms, her fluids smearing his abdomen as she desperately sought friction.
Despite the initial surprise, he responded immediately. His arms, which until then had held her with a degree of restraint, now crushed her against his chest with force.
Each of his fingers left red marks on her waist, and his mouth devoured hers with even greater fire, completely dominating her. His left hand slid down to the base of her tail, massaging the sensitive scales near her hip, and he felt her shudder in response.
And without breaking the kiss, without letting a single inch separate their bodies, Tiberion stepped into the cabin. The door slammed shut with a sharp thud as he turned his shoulder with a twist. The sound echoed like a final slam, sealing off the outside world: the crackling electric mist and the stunned gazes of everyone.
"..."
The pirates on the deck stood slack-jawed, frozen like statues.
They didn't know what was more terrifying—that this monster had withstood and absorbed lightning, or that he had just grown over ten meters as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Nothing made sense anymore.
The Sea Kings were no different.
They no longer saw him as a mere human. No. He was an entity—a creature with a blessing or a curse... a presence they couldn't decide whether to kneel before or flee from.
