One Piece: Ultimate Villain

Chapter 48: 48. Bullying

"You sure it's okay to have pissed off Blake that much?" Smoker asked, rubbing his chest.

"He may be a Rear Admiral, but he's just an assistant instructor. Besides, it's not uncommon for people to get promoted to officer rank during training camp," Marsh reassured him.

'Take a look at the bandages on his chest! I slashed him myself! What's one more problem to deal with?'

Still, he couldn't help but wonder. Had Blake just walked away after getting slashed? Turns out he was waiting for him here!

Also, based on what the pirates said, there was some big figure or organization backing them.

Blake was just a Rear Admiral; he couldn't have that much influence.

Which meant someone else was backing Blake.

So annoying! It's like an endless chain!

After crossing the massive training field scattered with blood-stained equipment, Marsh and Smoker arrived at a small two-story building.

"This... should be the place, right?" Smoker said, eyeing the run-down building with some uncertainty.

Although he had been a Seaman Apprentice before, Smoker was used to decent accommodations at Navy Headquarters.

This building, though, could only be generously described as rundown!

To say it looked like a haunted house would be an understatement.

The dense, towering trees on this isolated island blocked out the sunlight, giving the building an eerie, sinister look.

The exterior paint had long since peeled away, and even from a distance, a musty smell was evident.

This was going to be Marsh and Smoker's dorm during training camp.

While there were luxurious double and even single rooms, access to those depended on one's performance in the camp.

Climbing the creaky wooden stairs to the second floor, they stopped at Room 207.

Listening to the ruckus behind the door, Marsh placed his hand on the handle and pushed it open.

The noise stopped instantly as everyone inside turned to look.

At least it wasn't the stench of feet, sweat, and smoke he'd imagined.

After all, those selected for this training camp were the Navy's elite. They wouldn't turn their quarters into a pigsty on the first day.

It was an eight-person room. Six of the beds had belongings on them, leaving only two near the door empty.

Well, one was mostly empty; the other had belongings on it.

If you counted a few pairs of boxers as belongings.

Smoker scowled, about to ask whose stuff it was.

But Marsh grabbed his arm and pointed to the empty bed, signaling him to go to that one.

Smoker wanted to say more, but when he saw Marsh shake his head slightly, he walked over to the empty bed and sat down.

Then, in front of everyone, Marsh opened the door and tossed the bed along with the boxers out of the window.

"What the hell…"

One of the cadets on the farthest bed had witnessed Marsh offend Blake during their initiation.

He had thought he'd mess with Marsh on behalf of the assistant instructor to gain some favor.

This guy dared to retaliate?

"Oh, it's you," Marsh said, looking at the cadet who was storming toward him. "Guess I don't need to ask around."

The cadet paused, then shouted, "What's that supposed to mean? Go get my stuff, and wash it, too!"

The other cadets smirked, looking forward to the show.

After all, in the long, dull days of training, they needed some entertainment.

They didn't know Marsh and Smoker, but they were familiar with the shouting cadet: Lieutenant Eugene from 22nd Branch, a Paper-Paper Fruit user.

He could turn his body into paper, extending his limbs and changing their shape.

He could even create paper clones to aid him in combat.

He was definitely one of the strongest among this group of recruits!

The moment they saw this, a few cadets started placing bets on how long Marsh would last against Eugene.

"Get him, Eugene! I've got 500 Berries on you!"

"Quit stalling, just take him down!"

"Show that pretty boy what you're made of!"

"My meaning isn't clear?" Marsh replied with a smile, thinking that camp life wasn't going to be boring.

Perhaps it was the jeering from the other cadets or Marsh's smile that set Eugene off. His arm transformed into paper, folding into the shape of a blade as he slashed toward Marsh's head!

Crack!

A sharp, snapping sound echoed through the dorm.

This was quickly followed by a blood-curdling scream.

No one had seen exactly how Marsh did it, but Eugene was already on the ground, clutching his arm, which had been twisted into three sections, and writhing in agony.
