Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Shanks, Mind Letting Me Borrow Your Ship?

"Shanks? Yeah, I vaguely remember a guy by that name on the ship back then. But his strength wasn't all that impressive at the time," Douglas Bullet said with a sigh.

"Didn't expect how much time changes things. Captain Roger may be dead, but his crewmates sure are making names for themselves!"

"Let's go. I want to meet him—and also, I plan on requisitioning his ship. This warship's way too small for comfort," Rikuya Kazama grinned.

"Haha! I was thinking the same thing. Since that guy used to sail with Roger too, I want to see if he still remembers me!" Bullet laughed heartily.

With that, they steered the small Navy warship straight toward the Red Force.

"Captain Shanks, there's a small Navy warship approaching us at high speed. What should we do? Should we avoid them?" asked a chubby man on the deck, wearing small sunglasses, a green-and-white striped hat and shirt, a yellow coat, beige pants, red sneakers—and munching on a chunk of fresh meat.

He was Lucky Roo, one of the Red-Haired Pirates' core fighters.

"Let's see what they want. If it's a Marine Admiral or someone like that, we'll just give it a pass," said a red-haired man in a black cape, brown patterned capri pants, sandals, and a long sword—Gryphon—strapped to his waist.

His left arm was missing.

In this world, there was only one man who had lost an arm and still stood as a captain—Red-Haired Shanks!

"There are only two men on the ship," Lucky Roo reported, "but they're not wearing Navy coats, so they don't seem like Marines."

"They might be like us—pirates who've hijacked a Navy ship," offered a stern-looking man beside Shanks. He had gray hair, a long face with a sharp jawline, a well-built body, a scarred arm, and a rifle strapped to his waist. He wore a black, three-quarter-sleeved shirt and a patterned cloak.

This was Benn Beckman, first mate of the Red-Haired Pirates—and their sharpest mind.

"Heh, interesting. Two little pirates coming right for us. Let's meet them," Shanks smirked as he looked at the oncoming ship.

Soon, the two vessels docked side by side. Without hesitation, Rikuya Kazama and Douglas Bullet jumped onto the deck of the Red Force.

Immediately, dozens of pirates surrounded them.

At the front stood none other than the legendary Red-Haired Shanks.

"Hey, what are you two here for?" Benn Beckman asked coldly, blowing out a ring of smoke.

"Nothing much. As you can see, our ship's a bit cramped and uncomfortable. Yours is big and fancy. So, we came to discuss a little trade—how about we swap ships?" Rikuya said with a casual grin.

The moment he said that, the entire deck burst into laughter.

"Kid, do you even know who we are? Or which pirate crew you're messing with?" mocked a man wearing a tunic and trousers, an iron rod at his waist and a long gun on his back.

"Yasopp, honestly, your son Usopp is just as dumb as you," Rikuya said with a smirk, voice clear and unbothered.

The moment those words left his mouth, the atmosphere on deck turned ice-cold.

Several pirates subtly reached for their weapons.

Even Benn Beckman put out his cigarette.

Clearly, Rikuya's remark had dropped like a bombshell.

"You know my son?" Yasopp asked sharply.

"I do. But he's too dumb to be my crewmate," Rikuya replied coolly.

"Heh, kid... seems like you know a lot about us. And since you do, and still dared come here, you must be pretty confident in yourself," Shanks said, gripping the hilt of his famed sword, Gryphon.

"With one arm gone, you might as well retire peacefully. Why bother fighting for the New World? Just leave the ship here and stay in the East Blue," Rikuya said calmly.

Before Shanks could respond, Benn Beckman made the first move.

In a blink, the rifle at his waist was up.

Bang!

Without warning, a bullet fired straight at Rikuya.

But just before it struck, a powerful hand suddenly extended—and caught the bullet midair with a pitch-black, gleaming palm.

The entire crew was stunned.

Even Benn Beckman furrowed his brows in surprise.

"That man… have we met before?" Shanks narrowed his eyes.

He could tell—Rikuya's companion was no ordinary pirate. In the blink of an eye, he had coated his arm in Armament Haki and caught Beckman's bullet barehanded.

That required not just power, but extreme mastery.

Meanwhile, the cocky young man beside him didn't seem particularly special.

So, Shanks turned his attention to the other one—Douglas Bullet.

"Sigh… time sure flies. The mop-wielding brat from the old days doesn't even recognize me anymore. I really must be getting old," Bullet said with a nostalgic tone.

"Haha, the times have changed, old man! That's why I said we should get you out here to see the world again—otherwise people would think you rotted away in Impel Down!" Rikuya teased from the side.
