Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Stay Calm! I Am the Child of Destiny
Reid gulped, barely believing it.
"Roger, are you serious?"
"Hahaha, of course!" Roger grinned.
"I'm in!" Reid exclaimed. He was half-joking, but deep down, this had always been his dream — to sail with Roger, master Haki, and become part of a legendary crew.
"Great! Hahahaha!" Roger laughed, his teeth gleaming.
"Who is this guy? He's terrifying!"
Mihawk's eyes narrowed, and his sword trembled slightly.
"Ugh… I feel dizzy. Who is that? Forget it, I'm out of here."
Moria muttered, backing away in fear.
Smoker, too young, had already fainted.
Doflamingo's face twisted with rage. ""Hahahahahehehe… Where did this monster come from? He's as strong as me! Now that Roger's free, I'm gone!" He retreated without another word.
"Huh… who's this? Tsk, interesting. Another thorn in the side of the Five Elders."
Dragon smirked and silently left, recognizing Reid as an enemy of the World Government.
Crocodile, feeling an ominous pressure, exhaled smoke and vanished into the sand.
Everyone left, but Roger ignored them. His focus was solely on Reid.
"This kid's medical skills are unbelievable. If Newgate hears about this, he'll be thrilled." Roger stared at Reid in awe — his illness might finally be curable.
"What's your name?" he asked, smiling.
"Me? I'm Reid, the Son of Destiny."
"Son of Destiny? Is that your power?" Roger asked curiously.
"You'll find out soon enough," Reid replied, energized, scratching his nose.
"Hahaha, I like your style! With Reid aboard, we'll take the fight to the Celestial Dragons and the Five Elders!" Roger grinned wide.
"Hehe, you're making me blush!" Reid chuckled. "Anyway, we should get going. The Navy's almost here."
"They're already here," Roger said, eyes fixed in the distance.
Reid followed his gaze — smoke clouds and the sound of countless footsteps filled the air.
Now, being there in person, he felt nervous.
"R-Roger… Shouldn't we… run?"
"Run? Hahaha! You charged in like a true pirate to save me — where's that pride now?"
"Well… I've never actually fought anyone before," Reid admitted. His courage had faded now that the adrenaline was gone.
"Easy fix. Just knock them out with your Haki," Roger said casually, glancing at the fainted red-haired Shanks and Bucky nearby.
"I am strong now…" Reid told himself.
"Okay. Leave it to me."
His eyes sharpened as he activated his system and scanned the soldiers approaching:
[Navy Soldier: First Class – Weapons: Guns, Blades]
[Navy Soldier: Private – Weapons: Guns, Blades]
[Navy Petty Officer: Staff Sergeant – Weapons: Guns, Blades]
"Roger! You won't escape this time!"
"Surrender now!"
"We arrest you in the name of justice!"
They shouted as they charged forward.
Reid focused, his eyes turning red. A powerful wave of Haki surged from him.
"System, assist me! Knock them out!" he cried in his heart.
One by one, the naval soldiers fainted where they stood.
Roger observed him, stunned again by that powerful aura — the same one he'd felt before.
"Hahaha! I did it! I'm amazing!"
Reid stood proudly, enjoying the victory like he had imagined many times.
"I need to keep this miracle doctor by my side," Roger thought. His smile grew brighter.
"Brother Reid let's go! These marines are weak, but if Garp shows up, things will get ugly!"
"Garp? You mean Luffy's grandpa?"
Roger's eyes widened. "Luffy's what?! Garp has a grandson?"
"Oh, haha… I was just rambling!" Reid scratched his head awkwardly.
Weird guy, Roger thought.
"Let's head back. There's something important I need to do."
"You're worried about your wife, Rogue."
Roger stared at him like he'd seen a ghost. "How do you know what I'm thinking?!"
"I'm the Son of Destiny, remember? I can make good guesses," Reid grinned ear to ear.
"Reid, you must be heaven-sent!"
"Haha, let's get moving, Roger!"
"Keep up, or I'm leaving you behind!" Roger yelled playfully as he grabbed Shanks and Bucky and ran.
"Wait for me!" Reid shouted, panicking.
"System, help me — boost my speed and stamina!"
He chased after Roger, heart pounding.
"This is what it's like to be chased by the Navy… so thrilling!"
"Hey Roger, I've got a few questions for you later."
"Ask away! I'll tell you anything I know."
"You said it! Don't go back on your word!"
"Hahaha don't worry. I've got no secrets to hide," Roger said with a carefree smile, feeling freer than ever with his illness no longer weighing him down.
