In the deep of night, at the "World" training ground,
Loya stood on his toes, quickly swinging a jump rope. The speed was so fast that the rope became invisible to the eye, forming a circular field around his body.
If someone got too close, they would undoubtedly be struck by the invisible jump rope.
Half an hour later.
Loya slowed down and stopped, taking a big gulp of water before grabbing a towel to wipe the sweat off his body.
"With the current training volume, I must be doing three times what a regular marine does."
Loya estimated.
As his physique improved, the time he could maintain in "World" had reached five hours daily, and both his training volume and intensity were continuously increasing.
He was one step closer to his goal of 200 times.
In the last half hour.
Loya put on boxing gloves and marched confidently toward the fighting ring.
He could feel that his physical condition was not much different from Fullbody's; the only gap between them was purely combat experience.
Fullbody's parents were also in the navy, and he had received professional martial arts guidance from a young age. If he hadn't been so lazy, he wouldn't have ended up in Branch 153.
Loya stood in front of Fullbody, took a deep breath, and thought, "Oil Root, right? Now is my chance for revenge!"
"Come on! Fight me head-on!"
"Oil Root!!!" Days passed by.
In a corner of the training ground, Loya and Fullbody were fiercely exchanging blows. Both of them were covered in bruises, their faces swollen like pig heads.
"Bang!"
Their fists collided simultaneously, striking each other's jaws. The impact made their faces ripple like waves.
"Ugh~~ Pfft!"
Two molars flew into the air.
"Stop!"
Fullbody staggered back, covering his swollen mouth as he quickly called for a halt, looking at Loya with disbelief.
How long had it been? Just a week?
Why had Loya improved so rapidly?
No, he could understand fast progress; Loya had always had strong learning abilities. But why did this kid seem to completely understand his attack patterns as if they had fought countless times before?
Even though they lived in bunk beds together, ate together, bathed together, went to the bathroom together, smoked together during breaks, and discussed which woman in Shelz Town was attractive,
It shouldn't lead to being completely seen through!
Some attack moves worked effectively the first time but became useless the next day; sometimes Loya would even exploit weaknesses to counterattack.
This was not scientific.
And what was this kid's body made of? Every time he got beaten down to the ground, yet the next day he would still bounce back with terrifying energy!
At this rate, it wouldn't be long before he couldn't beat this little brother he had raised himself. How could he maintain his older brother's dignity then?
He couldn't keep fighting!
"Loya!"
Fullbody said seriously, "Let's end practical training here; I have nothing more to teach you."
"Hmm?"
A question mark appeared on Loya's forehead.
What have you taught me?
Did you teach me how to take a beating?
You've enjoyed beating me up these days; just as I'm about to turn things around, you suddenly say you don't want to fight anymore?
What kind of joke is that? Do you know how I've been living these days? Do you know how badly I've been beaten by you in "World"?
I've lost hundreds of front teeth!
Do you know that? Do you know?!
You don't know!
Loya's gaze darkened. "Di Ge (Brother Di), you're being unfair!"
"Ahem!"
Fullbody shrank his neck and awkwardly coughed with a forced smile. "How about I cover your cigarettes for the next month?"
"Deal!"
Finally, you're being sensible!
Loya's resentment vanished.
Just as they were about to leave, three marines blocked their path. The leader was a buzz-cut marine over two meters tall with an exceptionally strong physique.
"Hey there, newbie!"
"Who are you?"
Loya didn't recognize him.
"Reinas! Iron Fist Reinas!"
Reinas's veins bulged; he was somewhat famous in the branch but was surprised that Loya didn't recognize him at all.
"Are you underestimating me?"
"No."
Loya shook his head; he genuinely didn't know who he was.
Among marines, he could count on one hand how many names he remembered—most were easily forgotten after turning away.
His eyes glanced at Reinas's shoulder where three stripes indicated he was an experienced soldier; however, he wasn't sure about his strength.
"What's up, Senior Reinas?"
"It's nothing major."
Reinas cracked his knuckles with an ominous look. "Newbie, I see you've been doing a lot of practical training lately. Want to change things up? I can be your opponent."
"Eh?"
Loya paused for a moment before feeling excited.
He had been worried that Fullbody wouldn't play with him and needed a suitable opponent since no other marines wanted to practice with him.
"Loya! Don't agree to him!"
Fullbody blocked Loya.
Practical training was an essential part of honing combat skills for marines; the branch always encouraged it.
However, to ensure fairness and prevent veteran bullying of newcomers, navy regulations strictly prohibited veterans from challenging newcomers without permission.
Even if they wanted to spar genuinely, it had to be arranged and supervised by an instructor. But if both parties agreed, those restrictions didn't apply.
Another point: it was fine for newcomers to challenge veterans.
Fullbody put on iron knuckles and darkened his expression. "Reinas, if you want to fight someone, I'll be your opponent."
"Di Ge,"
Reinas looked at Fullbody with increased seriousness—not because he feared Fullbody but because he was wary of his background.
He had heard some rumors that Fullbody's parents were officers at navy headquarters—not someone he could provoke easily.
His target was Loya.
Not just him; many veterans wanted a chance to teach Loya a lesson. The saying goes: "A bullet strikes the bird that stands out." Loya's exceptional performance and preferential treatment from instructors made them quite unhappy.
Recently seeing Loya engaged in practical training provided veterans with an opportunity—he came forward as the vanguard for this purpose.
"Di Ge! Step aside."
As they faced off against each other, Loya grabbed Fullbody's shoulder and pulled him behind him forcefully.
An opponent delivered right to him—how could he let that go? Moreover, all that pent-up frustration needed an outlet!
His fists were eager and thirsty!
Loya pointed at the makeshift ring with determination and said excitedly: "Senior Reinas! Let's get started!"
"Uh... okay."
Reinas felt taken aback by Loya's enthusiastic attitude. Did this kid really not see through his intentions? Or did he simply not regard him at all?
Watching Loya warm up while mumbling excitedly made Reinas suddenly question whether seeking trouble might have been a mistake after all.
No way!
This kid was just an inexperienced rookie who hadn't seen battle before—no matter how talented he was, there was no way he could beat him! He was one of Branch 153's elite who had taken down pirates before!
Let him experience the terror of "Iron Fist"!
