One Piece : Safety second

As the Whisker pirates were sailing towards the location on the map, they came across a small island.

Looking at it through a spyglass, Tom turned to Tyke, who was looking at his compass.

"Is that it?"

"Should be."

Pocketing the compass, Tyke continued talking.

"Do you think anyone lives there?"

"We'll know when we get closer."

Seeing Tom go back to his chair, Tyke took a look at the island and went to the wheel.

As they got closer, they noticed that the trees were bigger than normal and anchored their ship. Looking at his crew of three, Tom folded his arms and said.

"Alright, this should be the island. We'll split up and search. Jerry, you'll be with me and Yuuki will be with Tyke."

As soon as Tom finished talking, his vice captain raised his arm up. Letting out a sigh, Tom asked.

"What is it?"

"Yes, I'd like to go with Tyke or Yuuki."

"Denied. Use the flare if you find something."

Seeing their captain drag off their pouting vice captain, Tyke and Yuuki looked at each other and shrugged. Looking around, they soon picked a direction and started walking.

The island was filled with abundant greenery and no traces of living beings. They could only see an occasional flock of birds up in the sky.

Feeling that it was weird that no life form existed, Tyke and Yuuki kept walking until they came across a large lake in the middle of the island.

As Tyke went towards the lake, Yuuki looked around the open area and saw no trees. Deciding to walk around, he soon found traces of campfire.

Going towards Tyke, who was looking towards the lake, Yuuki said.

"I think someone might be here."

When Tyke turned towards Yuuki, the latter told his findings. Seeing Tyke nod his head after he finished talking, Yuuki asked.

"Should I use the flare?"

"No, we'll alert whoever's here if we do that."

Nodding at the reason, Yuuki asked.

"What should we do now?"

Tyke thought for a while and decided to stay in the area and wait and see if their captain and vice captain would send a signal or end up coming here themselves.

On another part of the island Tom and Jerry were walking around, with the latter looking bored and kicking stones.

"Tch, this is boring. Why don't we just go back."

"Because I'm saying no."

Pouting towards his captain, Jerry turned forward and kept walking when he smelled something. Looking towards where the smell was coming from, he threw a dynamite.

Just before the dynamite exploded, something jumped away from that place.

Looking at the fish man, who was shaking, Jerry sniggered.

"Nihihi, look what I found Tom-san."

Looking at the two humans who were looking at him weirdly, the fish man wiped the sweat on his face and assured himself of the fact that they were just humans and shouted.

"Humans! I don't know why or how you came here but don't think about leaving!"

Tom scratched his ears as the fish man was threatening them and looked towards Jerry, who had already taken out his batons and was looking at the fish man eerily.

Letting out a sigh, Tom said.

"You can't eat them."

Watching his vice captain click his tongue before pouncing on the fish man, Tom let out another sigh before thinking when the brat would learn.

Yuuki was looking around, standing at the shore of the lake. It had been a few minutes since Tyke decided to stay near the lake.

Looking at Tyke who was sitting calmly with his arms crossed and his eyes closed, Yuuki bit his nails in nervousness.

"Hey, don't you think we can hide in the woods for a while?"

"...."

"I mean just staying out in the open is not that good, you know."

"...."

Getting no response, Yuuki had the thought of maybe bashing Tyke's head with his rifle before he shook his head and thought.

'I can't do that, I can't hide behind him anymore.'

After a few more minutes, the two pirates heard a crunch of twigs from their left. As Tyke got up, he glanced at Yuuki, who had started taking cover behind him and rolled his eyes.

Looking towards where the sound came from they both got ready, with Tyke stretching his muscles and Yuuki taking out his gun.

When a fish man appeared, they both were about to attack when the fish man plopped down forward, seemingly after getting kicked on his butt.

"Tsk, walk faster!"

Deadpanning at their vice captain pushing the fish man around, Tyke and Yuuki looked towards Tom who made his way to the lake and squatted down and peered inside the lake.

Looking towards the fish man that just got kicked again, Tom asked.

"Is this it?"

"Y-yes! Now please! Let me go!"

Ignoring the plea of the fish man, Tom looked at Tyke and Yuuki and told them to jump into the lake after handing them a rope.

Looking at the rope in his hands, Yuuki asked Tom.

"Why are we jumping in there?"

"Apparently Arlong kept some of his loot here. Now go."

Yuuki wanted to ask more but Tyke had already jumped in. Looking towards the lake, Yuuki tied the rope around his waist before he jumped in.

The fish man, who was lying on the ground acting unconscious, looked at the scene of the two pirates jumping into the lake and smiled.

'Those idiots! They don't even know what's in there. Hahaha, some rope will not be enough to save-'

*BOOM*

Any further thought was stuck as he saw a large amount of water burst out from the lake. Looking at the creature that flew out from it, the fish man was stunned.

"Wow, my lunch is here!"

Looking at the little kid running up to the sea beast, the fish man doubted reality and rubbed his eyes.

Nothing changed even after that as he watched the sea pig that was knocked out and he soon became pale.

'W-what the hell?! I-I have to run away and inform Arlong-san!'

As soon as he thought that he noticed a rock flying towards him. The thought of dodging it passed through his mind but he did not have any time for that as the rock hit his head and he blacked out.

Tom glanced at the fish man, whose eyes rolled back to his head and looked at his vice captain, who had climbed up the sea pig.

"Hey, you should make sure to knock them out!"

"Hmph, I was just seeing what he would do if I left him up."

"Yeah yeah, get down from there now. The commotion would have attracted whoever's here."

And right on cue, Tom smelled a few foreign scents approaching their location.

The newly arrived fish men looked at their sea pig and one of their comrades that were knocked out and were enraged.

Tom on the other hand, looked at them and understood that none of them are that strong and decided to leave them to his vice captain.

"Make sure you knock them out properly this time."

"I left him up on purpose!"

In the lake, Yuuki had to hurriedly dodge out of the way to avoid the sea pig that was punched away by Tyke. Looking at the creature fly out, Yuuki tried to glare at Tyke but realized the latter was paying him no attention.

Tyke dove in after confirming the sea pig was out of water and soon found a small cave at one side of the lake. Entering the cave, he saw that there was not much light inside so he waited for his crewmate to come.

As soon as Yuuki came, Tyke pointed towards the cave. Understanding what he was saying, Yuuki took out a flare and gave it to Tyke.

Wasting no time, Tyke swam in after lighting up his flare with Yuuki trailing behind him. They soon found that the pathway led to an even bigger cave.

Looking around, Yuuki found a couple of chests at the bottom of the cave and gestured towards Tyke with his flare. Tyke looked at the chests and tied his rope around them and started pulling the rope.

His captain probably got the message as the rope soon started getting pulled slowly as Yuuki tried to untie himself. Unfortunately he did not have any time as he was yanked away after Tom was done testing the weight he was pulling.

Tyke looked on as his crewmate started screeching underwater as he was dragged out and swam back up. When he got onto the shore he saw a few fish men that were knocked out and tied up.

When he wanted to ask about them no one paid attention to him as Tom was busy opening the chests, Jerry was trying to cut open the sea pig and Yuuki was down on his knees, coughing out the water that ended up in his windpipe.

"Nyahahaha, I'm rich!" (Tom)

"I could've died, you know!" (Yuuki)

"That's okay, I can just buy another one!" (Tom)

"I'm not a toy! That's so mean!" (Yuuki)

"Tom-san, I'm hungry. Cook that for me." (Jerry)

"...." (Tyke)

After Tom was done admiring his loot, he ended up barbecuing the whole sea pig for his crewmates to eat.

Telling Tyke to pick up the fish men after they were done eating, Tom left for their ship with the chests full of loot.

Ignoring the curses of the fish men, Tyke dragged all of them back to the ship and threw them onto the deck before going to his captain.

"What are we gonna do with them?"

"Well, we're just gonna drop them off somewhere before heading into Grand line."

Nodding at what his captain said, Tyke asked Tom if they were gonna head into Grand line now and only got a smile back, which was more than enough to confirm.

Walking towards the wheel, Tyke started heading towards the one final stop before going into the bigger sea.
