Chapter 168: Chapter 168:Hancock, Lovestruck Empress.
The milky white halo on Chiga's forehead glowed, and the female hormones injected by Law were all absorbed back into the tip of the horn, mixing with Magellan's crimson venom.
As the power from the right horn dissipated, Chiga reverted to his original form, transforming back into a male.
He could sense the urgency of the situation from the women's reactions just now. Hancock's current condition might be even worse than he imagined.
It was better for him to return to his true form, so as not to startle Hancock again.
Kikyo now confirmed that the person in front of her was indeed the legendary Admiral Purple Kirin. She quickly signaled to everyone to lower their weapons.
Kikyo, once a strict enforcer of Amazon Lily's "no men allowed" policy, now cared for nothing else. As long as she could bring Chiga to Hancock, she was willing to set aside any rules.
Seeing Kikyo take charge, Chiga flashed in front of her and asked,
"I heard Hancock is ill. What's her condition now?"
Startled by Chiga's speed, Kikyo felt a wave of awe wash over her once more. She wiped the cold sweat from her forehead and was just about to speak when a small voice chimed in—Little Marguerite.
"You look kind of strange. Not like us at all."
Chiga looked down at her. From her golden hair and youthful appearance, he could tell this was the same Marguerite Luffy had met when he first arrived on Amazon Lily.
Smiling, he asked,
"What's so different about me?"
Marguerite examined him carefully, then patted her small chest and said seriously,
"Your chest is flat, and you look kind of chunky!"
Chiga chuckled at her bluntness. He reached out, ruffled her head gently, and said,
"That's because I'm a man. And this isn't fat—it's muscle, understand?"
"You're a man?! But men aren't allowed in here!"
Marguerite quickly hid behind Kikyo, clearly frightened. Kikyo gave Chiga an apologetic look, then turned and scolded,
"Marguerite, that's enough! Admiral Purple Kirin is no ordinary man. He's Empress Hancock's beloved!"
Beloved…
Chiga's brow twitched slightly. He understood that "beloved" might not mean what he thought, but it still sounded strange coming from Kikyo.
He waved his hand, brushing it off.
"Never mind that. She's just a child. Take me to Hancock—I need to examine her condition."
"Yes! Right away!"
Kikyo was visibly relieved at Chiga's willingness to see Hancock. She ordered the others to stay put, then personally led the way.
Before leaving, Chiga looked back at Marguerite. After Kikyo's scolding, she stood quietly with a wronged expression on her face, looking rather pitiful.
Chiga crouched down and pinched her cheek lightly, whispering,
"Don't be upset. I'm going to help your Empress. She'll be fine soon. So cheer up, alright?"
Marguerite stared blankly at the man in front of her—this was the first time she had ever seen a man. And what she felt wasn't fear… it was a strange kind of admiration.
A thought surfaced in her mind:
"So this is what a man looks like? Are they all this good-looking?"
She would later discover how mistaken she was. After venturing out to sea, she'd come to realize that what she saw that day was truly the peak.
---
Chiga followed Kikyo to the Empress's palace. Standing guard at the entrance were Hancock's two sisters:
Boa Sandersonia, with long green hair and a slender figure.
Boa Marigold, with long orange hair and a fuller build.
Both were Zoan-type Snake-Snake Fruit users—Sandersonia in python form, Marigold in cobra.
When they saw Chiga behind Kikyo, both froze for a moment. They immediately recognized who he was and were stunned by his presence.
Although their sister held the title of Warlord and Empress, her status still seemed insignificant compared to this man.
As much as they didn't want to admit it, the truth was undeniable.
Even without the power of the Marines behind him, Chiga could destroy Amazon Lily singlehandedly if he wanted to.
He was, after all, the man who had defeated Kaido and Shanks, two of the Four Emperors. A feat that sent chills down their spines.
Seeing his glowing purple Rinnegan, Sandersonia and Marigold swallowed hard, then slowly stepped forward and greeted him with caution,
"You must be Admiral Purple Kirin. We truly didn't know you had arrived—please forgive our lack of welcome."
Chiga dismissed their formality with a wave of his hand.
"No need for pleasantries. I'm here to see Hancock."
Without waiting for a response, he walked between them and continued into the palace.
Sandersonia and Marigold exchanged glances. In that moment, hope stirred within them—hope that their sister might be saved.
---
Through his perception, Chiga had already locked onto Hancock's location. He walked straight toward her bedroom as if he owned the place, pushing the door open without knocking.
Inside, Hancock lay in a large bed at the far end of the room.
By her side stood an elderly woman—Elder Nyon, both a mentor and mother figure to Hancock.
She looked up in shock when Chiga entered, her eyes wide. Just as she was about to speak, Chiga raised a finger to his lips in a silent gesture.
Elder Nyon swallowed her words and stepped aside.
Chiga approached the bed quietly. Hancock's condition was clearly dire. Her eyes were tightly shut, her face flushed with fever, and pain was etched into her features.
Despite being in the presence of others, she showed no reaction at all—a clear sign of how far her strength had waned.
Chiga placed a hand on her forehead. The heat radiating from her skin was intense, almost burning to the touch.
Thankfully, Hancock's body was strong. If it had been anyone else, they wouldn't have lasted long.
He gently stroked her brow, leaned in close to her ear, and whispered softly,
"Hancock… can you hear me? It's Chiga. I'm here."
