One Piece: Lord of Calamity

What a pity! Even briefly succumbing to a state of self-doubt and collapse due to powerlessness, allowing the malevolent spirit to successfully take control, it was still impossible to turn someone of Kozuki Oden's caliber into a ghost-minion.

His willpower was simply too strong. In fact, the moment he swung that chaotic, flawed sword strike, Kozuki Oden had already sobered up. But it was too late.

While dodging Kozuki Oden's attack, Roa's crimson blade spun with a red aura, making the entire sword seem to transform into a crimson helical spear.

Pierce through! The charging helical spear strike! The crimson meteor flashed and disappeared. Kozuki Oden's body trembled.

A red helical beam of light shot out, streaking diagonally into the sky, finally vanishing into the distant, deep heavens.

"Uh—" Kozuki Oden's mouth opened and closed weakly.

"Pleasing, Kozuki Oden," Roa said, lifting his head, slowly and contentedly drawing out his beloved sword. "I'll probably never forget you in my life." What a shame; if he had remembered that line earlier, he should have bisected him at the waist.

Kozuki Oden staggered backward. A head-sized hole had now appeared in his chest, making him a truly transparent person. Everything before his eyes rapidly darkened; he could no longer hear the enemy's voice, nor see his appearance. Kozuki Oden finally realized he was going to die.

Damn it, what would happen to this country now? He should have been worried about that. But. As he truly grasped this final moment, the last thought that surfaced in his mind was: what was the world outside Wano Country truly like? He really wanted to see it.

The man's robust body tipped backward, falling heavily onto the ground where lava flowed all around.

In the year 1490 of the Pirate Era, Kozuki Oden fell in battle in the mountain forests on the outskirts of Wano Country's Flower Capital.

"Win!" Roa raised his left fist in triumph. Single-handedly defeating one of the Five Emperors of the Sea, as acknowledged by Big Brother Kaido in the original work! His battle record was verifiable!

"Tsk." In the sky, Kaido let out a displeased click of his tongue. It should have been a very satisfying battle for him. All thanks to that damn guy! He glanced again at Kozuki Oden's corpse on the ground. What a waste; he had such power, yet he died so ugly.

On the head of the snail, Roa's subordinates were equally joyful. Their Boss was as powerful as ever.

However, thankfully, there was at least one person who would grieve over Kozuki Oden's death. Kozuki Sukiyaki, held hostage by Kurozumi Higurashi, was now weeping uncontrollably, desperately trying to struggle, completely unconcerned even as the blade cut his neck.

"Hahahaha! This is your end, Sukiyaki!" Kurozumi Higurashi kicked the Shogun to the ground, laughing loudly. "The Kozuki Family is finished!!"

"Guhahahaha!" Orochi also stopped playing dead, scrambling up from the ground. His face still showed undisguised glee. "Finally dead! They're all finally dead!"

"What a shame," Roa turned back to look at the lava sea that swallowed everything. He had considered sparing those guys earlier. Wano Country's samurai were quite capable; adding a few ghost-minions wouldn't be bad.

But he had gotten too caught up in his fight with Kozuki Oden and wasn't paying attention. The almost dying individuals, struck by lightning, had already been swallowed by the surging lava.

Oh well, it probably wouldn't have succeeded with many anyway. While their strength might not have been exceptional, these samurai's willpower was certainly up to par. Even in such a desperate situation in the original story, they never yielded.

"How was it, brat? After this battle, did you gain anything?" Kaido floated above Roa, a grin of interest on his face.

"You really hit the nail on the head!" Roa clenched his left fist, and the part of his arm above the wrist instantly turned completely black. "It really does feel harder!" He wondered if it was just psychological.

"Uroguroro! You've still got a long way to go!" Kaido laughed heartily. "Only when you can infuse Conqueror's Haki will you truly be a master of Haki."

Conqueror's Haki infusion? Roa's mind stirred. He walked over to Kozuki Oden's corpse and picked up the sword with the three-lobed guard and purple hilt.

One of Kozuki Oden's two beloved swords, the famous blade rumored to be able to destroy even hell, one of the 21 Great Grade Swords, Enma. As for why the 1.7-meter-tall Roa could casually wield a sword used by the 3-meter-tall Oden, don't ask; it's because famous swords adapt to their user's size.

The moment he picked up Enma, a red aura immediately spread from Tiger Soul on his right hand.

"Quiet, Tiger Soul," Roa said calmly. And so, the cursed sword instantly became quiet, all red aura retracting into the blade. A sword was just a sword; it naturally could not overpower the person wielding it.

Then, the sword in his left hand began to exert its power.

"Oh! This is intense!" Roa exclaimed. The Haki within his body was continuously being absorbed by this sword. The calm blade instantly became restless, trembling as if eager to cut something.

"Could it be that you want to avenge your previous owner?" Roa chuckled. "Interesting, absorb all you want! Watch as my hard and black fills you up!" Haki was rapidly draining, and his already not-so-strong Armament Haki was almost unable to hold on.

But thankfully, there was still Conqueror's Haki! Although he couldn't yet infuse it, Roa's Conqueror's Haki was much stronger than his Armament Haki. A surging aura shot skyward, and then, it too was absorbed by Enma.

After a few more seconds, finally, Enma's rate of Haki absorption slowed. Green flames emerged from Enma's surface, followed by leaping black lightning.

"Hm?" Kaido immediately lowered his head, looking at Enma in Roa's hand with disbelief. "Are you kidding me? What's going on with this sword?"

But the change wasn't over yet. Red aura spread from Tiger Soul, and then, the flames and lightning on Enma's surface also turned crimson. At the same time, Tiger Soul's surface also surged with similar flames and lightning.

"Ha! Finally completely transformed into my shape, huh?" Roa laughed heartily. Powerful! Far more powerful than before!

"Big Brother Kaido," Roa looked up gleefully. "Is this Conqueror's Haki infusion?"

"..." Kaido didn't speak immediately. Instead, his body shrunk, transforming into his human form and landing in front of Roa. He casually pulled out his spiked club, and immediately, black lightning leaped from the iron club. "Why don't you try it and find out!"

"Lion's Song: Seal of Severance!" The twin swords met the spiked club, and black lightning immediately radiated in all directions. The shockwave generated by the collision caused waves to ripple across the nearby lava sea.

Roa looked up. "It didn't split the sky." As everyone knew, clashes between powerful Conqueror's Haki users caused the sky to split. This was a necessary procedure when Pirate Emperors met. But now, forget about splitting the sky, he couldn't even perform a ranged attack.

"You've still got a long way to go, brat," Kaido snorted, then said, "However, that was indeed a Conqueror's Haki slash, but compared to true Conqueror's Haki infusion, it's too loose, too stiff. At most, it's just integrating Conqueror's Haki into the slash."

"The war has been won!" The old woman of the Kurozumi family's face was filled with eagerness and longing. "According to our agreement, the position of Shogun is ours. Please allow Orochi to become the new Shogun!"

"I am Kurozumi Orochi!" Kurozumi Orochi was even more eager, his breathing incredibly short. "Let me, let me become Shogun!"

"Oh!" Roa looked back meaningfully. "I almost forgot about you."
