"Something cute!" Mimi insisted.
"Something… historically reflective," Sera mumbled.
Lian turned, grinned, and dipped a paintbrush into bright orange ink. He walked up to the blank sail, took a deep breath…

Lucien lit his foot aflame. "Let's make this our real debut."
Lian stepped forward, coat flapping.
His hand tightened into a fist.
"Everyone," he said, his voice steady, "this is our first real fight."
"And we're gonna win."
The Battle Begins
Cannons fired—but Rin cut the first volley midair with twin strikes.Sera summoned a Chrono glyph that slowed time for the enemy's front line.Lucien vaulted into the air, flame kick igniting the opposing mast in seconds.Mimi sent Quackzilla into their engine room—and five seconds later, bubbles erupted from below, followed by a surprised explosion and confetti.
Lian leapt into the heart of the enemy deck.
His palm glowed red with pulsating energy.
"Chrono Drive: Shatter Step!"
He hit the captain—a masked warrior in black armor—hard enough to crack the ship's deck.
But the figure didn't fall.
Instead, it whispered through a distorted voice:
"You're not him. You're just his echo."
Lian's eyes narrowed.
"I'm not trying to be him."
He grinned.
"I'm me."
And with a single rising uppercut, he blasted the enemy captain through the sails and into the sea below.
The enemy ship retreated, broken.
The Rising Flame flag waved proudly in the wind.
Nightfall
As stars returned to the sky, the crew laughed around the deck fire.
Rin sipped warm tea.Lucien retold the fight with dramatic flare.Sera pretended not to listen, but smiled when no one looked.Mimi was upgrading Quackzilla with glitter bombs.
Lian looked at them all.
His first real victory.
His first real fight.
