Chapter 24: Mad Scientist!

"Not enough! Not enough! AaaAaaAhhh! I need more! Just one more!" Inside a large underground laboratory, a man shouted, and his voice echoed throughout the room.

Seeing how he was desperate, one would be curious as to why he was so, or what could possibly be needed by him.

A scientist in a lab? Was he in need of more materials? More tests? More people?

In fact, he indeed needed more people.

"My perfect specimen!"

But not more people to help him...

The scientist looked below him at the horrifying scenery he had caused. 

A humanoid being, made up of not two or four, but countless arms and legs.

His torso was held up by patches as if he had been burned and slashed all around and only brought back up by a skilled doctor, but the reality was as far not as heroic but more monstrous than one would want to think.

This man...

He used humans and was trying to mutate them into a perfect being that he had imagined.

This was a man who shouldn't have been allowed to exist, nor is he allowed to leave this island.

He was searched for all around the world of One Piece, and his bounty was among the top of the powerhouses. But it was not because of how strong he was but because of how his ideals differed with those of the entire humanity.

This man was an abomination who could go to all lengths and ruin all lives to form something hideous that for him was a perfect organism.

And what was more fearsome was that he was indeed able to do so.

He had the idea, the ability, and the place to do so, and he was doing it.

This was why he was wanted.

The reason why Linda didn't know of him was obvious. His knowledge, which allowed him to hide from the marines and all forces of the world, naturally allowed him to run from this woman too, as capable as she may be.

This entire island was a testground for him; from the bugs on the ground to the flies in the sky to the huge guardians of the island on all four of its sides, all of them were his own creation.

Mutations he had burned sweat, blood, and tears to make. They were all made by him in an attempt to create this perfect organism.

This was to show how dangerous this man was. 

Named the Mad Scientist of the Zerg, he was the last descendant of an organization of lunatics who were not only the enemies of the marine but the enemies of the entire world.

If he were to so much as step foot on any other island than this one, he would be chased to death by every force.

And now, this man, who was looking at the hideous humanoid creature in front of him with a wide smile, was in need of but one more human.

There was a reason why no human who entered ever left, as the only way to actually leave was to be lucky enough to not be noticed by the man.

It was possible. It was possible to actually run from him, but that was on one and only one case.

When he isn't in need.

And unfortunately for Ken, he was.

"Ah, What do I do? What do I do? This moment is crucial; I'm on the right mindset." The man's smile turned sad as he brought his hands to his face and scratched it whole till blood started gushing out from his previous wounds.

"if only... If only a rat walks on this island." He suddenly turned his back and face to look behind him, and then, in a spurt, he ran towards the storage room.

Opening a door, what welcomed him was a beast whose body was far too fat to be encapsulated here.

The room he had just entered was far bigger than the room he had just left, and yet, it was still not enough to hold him.

*Uhhhhhhhhh*

The beast made weird sounds as if it was going to vomit, but the man cared not while going through the narrow pathway towards the storage device.

A device he made himself from the eyes of sea kings and the brain of apes to access the information brought by the flies and absorbed by the giant abomination behind him.

An ingenuity that was forged from the fusion of technology and biology.

And just then, when he put the device on his head, ignoring the liquid that streamed down and even licking it, he smiled.

It didn't take him long to find what he needed.

"Hello, little rat."
