One Piece: I, the Strongest Intern of the Roger Pirates

Chapter 33: Chapter 33 – Rokushiki: The Six Powers of the Navy

I can't believe the Captain's been asleep for three days... I'm so bored!

Leaning against the ship's railing, Buggy sighed heavily as he complained to Shanks beside him.

It had been three days since the battle at God Valley.

The Roger Pirates had been anchored near the small island for two days now. But since Roger still hadn't regained consciousness, the crew remained on the ship, only going ashore during the day to resupply.

Of course, the three interns — Fang Yi, Shanks, and Buggy — didn't have permission to go ashore. Even the arrows Fang Yi needed had to be purchased by Yamon on his behalf.

After Buggy turned in the treasure he looted from the Rocks Pirates' ship, he was praised by the crew. What they didn't know was that he had quietly stashed away a portion for himself.

Unfortunately, despite being near an island, Buggy couldn't go ashore to exchange the gold for Berries. That's why he was moping around like this.

Still, the crew brought back some major news:

The Navy had officially declared the Rocks Pirates destroyed.

The newspaper didn't mention the Roger Pirates at all, but Roger's bounty had increased again, now approaching one billion Berries.

In the current era — far before the events of One Piece — pirates with bounties over a billion were incredibly rare. Fang Yi knew of only one: Rocks D. Xebec.

"Buggy, don't you think Big Bro Fang's gotten even stronger lately?"

Shanks turned and quietly asked Buggy as they watched Fang Yi sitting on the deck, crafting arrows.

Buggy rolled his eyes.

"With the gap between me and him, you think I can even sense his improvement?"

Shanks chuckled.

"All the more reason for you to train harder. Don't just dream about treasure all day!"

"No way! My only dream is digging up treasure!"

Buggy shot back without hesitation.

"But without strength, even finding treasure will be nearly impossible, Buggy."

Fang Yi suddenly appeared beside them, smiling as he spoke.

"Big Bro Fang!"

Shanks quickly stood to greet him.

Fang Yi nodded at Shanks with a grin, then turned to Buggy and patted his shoulder.

"Come on, let's spar today. If I see any signs of improvement in you, I'll give you something good."

"Something good?!"

Buggy perked up instantly. Everyone knew Fang Yi was like a walking treasure chest — whatever he gave out was always rare and valuable.

Fang Yi smirked and pulled out a packet of shimmering bait.

"Recognize this? My special fishing bait. Might just help you reel in something seriously valuable."

"Alright! In that case, let me show you my new secret move!"

Buggy grinned, full of confidence.

He had been eyeing Fang Yi's special bait for a long time, but it was too rare for Fang Yi to just hand it out freely.

"Oh? Let's see what kind of trick you've come up with this time."

Fang Yi put his bow aside and drew two daggers, readying himself with a smile.

"Wahahaha! Prepare yourself! You're about to witness the genius pirate Buggy's newest technique! Take this!"

Buggy shouted as he hurled his longsword directly at Fang Yi.

But Fang Yi simply tilted his body slightly, easily dodging it.

"That's your new technique?"

Fang Yi asked, confused.

"Don't get cocky just yet! Watch this!"

Buggy made a pulling motion, but the sword didn't return.

"Huh? What the hell?"

Buggy looked at the snapped string in his hand, completely baffled.

"Your secret move... was tying a string to your sword and pulling it back after throwing it?"

Fang Yi deadpanned, clearly unimpressed.

"Wahaha… N-No way! That was just a joke!"

Buggy laughed awkwardly, but it was obvious to both Fang Yi and Shanks that this was indeed his big plan.

Thanks to his Hawk-Eye skill, Fang Yi had spotted the string the moment Buggy made his move.

As he dodged, he subtly cut it, causing Buggy's attack to fail.

To be fair, the tactic wasn't completely useless — characters like Sasuke in Naruto had pulled off something similar far more effectively.

Buggy, however, was painfully obvious and sloppy with it.

Unsurprisingly, without a real technique, Buggy was quickly defeated and left groaning on the ground.

"Shanks, how about a match?"

Fang Yi turned with a smile.

"Sure!"

Shanks didn't hesitate, stepping up to take Buggy's place.

Their battle was much more intense and exciting — a real fight — and it quickly drew the attention of several crew members.

"Sheesh… are all young people these days this terrifying? The way these two are improving is unreal," muttered the lookout, Gorlan, shaking his head in amazement.

"And that Fang Yi kid's not even going all out!"

Combatant Milley Pine commented.

"His archery is insane. If you don't watch yourself, you'll get nailed outta nowhere. Sometimes, even when you dodge or block, it still feels like he hit you."

Coming from one of the ship's primary fighters, that was high praise.

On deck, Fang Yi spun his daggers skillfully before suddenly stepping forward.

"Soru!"

"Huh?"

Shanks blinked — Fang Yi had vanished.

The next thing he felt was a dagger pressing gently against his throat from behind.

"Big Bro Fang… how'd you do that? You just vanished!"

Shanks lowered his sword, still stunned.

"I didn't vanish at all," Fang Yi said with a smirk.

In truth, his main goal in sparring with Shanks was to test his newly mastered technique — Soru, one of the Navy's Rokushiki (Six Powers).

Ever since he drew the skill, Fang Yi had secretly been training it.

Only today had he finally grasped it completely, thanks in large part to the Physical Inheritance he consumed.

After all, mastering Rokushiki required incredible physical strength as a foundation.

"So, how did you do it?"

Shanks was still curious.

Fang Yi didn't keep it to himself. He patiently explained how Soru worked and how to practice it.

But even with Fang Yi's guidance, Shanks wouldn't be able to master it any time soon — his body was still growing and lacked the necessary strength.

"Fang Yi, where'd you learn that move?"

Jaba waved him over with interest.

"I saw a Marine use it back in God Valley. Thought it was cool, so I've been working on it these past few days," Fang Yi replied with a grin.

Jaba nodded.

"That move is called Soru. It's one of the Six Powers developed by the Marines. There are five others too, though I don't know them all. You should ask Rayleigh — he might.

"To be honest, I didn't think your body was ready for Rokushiki yet. It requires serious stamina and strength. But you figured it out on your own — impressive."

Fang Yi scratched his head, a little embarrassed.

By normal standards, he really shouldn't have been able to master it — but of course, he had his system to thank.

Following Jaba's suggestion, Fang Yi went to Rayleigh, showed him Soru, and asked for feedback.

Rayleigh had indeed studied Rokushiki before.

He told Fang Yi that his technique was already solid — he just needed more practice. He even offered to teach him a second skill: Geppo (Moonwalk).

Geppo was essentially an advanced form of Soru. With Rayleigh's detailed guidance, Fang Yi began learning its mechanics.

But unlike the direct instruction from the system, this was traditional teaching, and it revealed Fang Yi's real limits.

Even under Rayleigh's tutelage, it took Fang Yi quite a while just to grasp the basics of Geppo.

Rayleigh even started to wonder if Fang Yi simply wasn't suited for it.

After all, someone capable of learning Soru just by watching it shouldn't struggle this much.

Rayleigh could only assume that Fang Yi's body still hadn't reached the level required for aerial techniques like Geppo.

One day later, Roger finally awoke from his deep sleep.

And the first thing he did?

Eat.

A lot.

Especially meat.

The way he tore through it all reminded Fang Yi of a certain rubber boy who would one day inherit his will.

Roger's return lit a fire through the entire crew.

That night, the entire crew — including the ship's pet Wangcai — went ashore to drink and party at the island's bar, celebrating all night long.

It also gave Buggy the perfect opportunity to finally convert his hidden loot into Berries.

The next morning, Fang Yi was woken up by an unexpected tongue to the face.

"Ugh—damn it, can't you wake me up some other way?! Why do you always do this?!"

He groaned as he looked down at Wangcai, who was panting happily beside him.

Wangcai had become the crew's mascot — untouchable, unscoldable, and practically worshiped like a little god.

The worst part? The little guy was smart. If anyone dared bully him, he'd go tattle straight to Yamon.

Even though Yamon was a jungle warrior, she was still a woman, and women had near-zero resistance to adorable animals like Wangcai. So now, this dog basically ran the ship.

"Woof! Woof!"

Wangcai barked twice, facing the window.

Only then did Fang Yi notice something unusual — a Marine battleship had docked right next to their pirate ship.

After partying all night on the island and continuing the celebration on the ship until dawn, most of the crew was still sound asleep.

Not one of them had noticed when that Marine ship arrived.
