Chapter 12: Shattered Three-views
The burning sun in the sky slowly descended toward the sea, taking the light with it, as the shining moon rose to claim its place, only for the sun to rise once again.
A whole day had passed since Xun transmitted his knowledge to Zoro and Nami. As he had anticipated, it was a wise decision not to send it directly into their brains. After all, compared to his supercomputer-like mind that could process vast amounts of information in mere seconds, their human brains couldn't endure such a strain.
Xun remained comfortably lying on his side, eyes closed. He could feel his body, mind, and spirit evolving continuously. Thanks to his mastery of body control—down to the cellular level—he could sense his physique transforming toward a certain state, with the resulting power-up being merely a by-product.
Before he had mastered his body, this process would have taken years. But now, he calculated that it would take only a month—or even less—to complete the transformation and reach the second level of mind evolution.
At the same time, deep within his mindscape, his suspicions proved correct. The moment he entered the 'OnlyGodForm,' the entire mindscape rippled violently, as though on the verge of collapse. His brain swiftly calculated that if he had activated this form in reality, even if the world's Will intervened to protect the planet from destruction, it would still inevitably herald an apocalyptic age.
Even an ordinary person could easily destroy a planet, let alone someone as powerful as him.
Thus, he had spent the day attempting to divide his form into several parts: God's Hand, God's Feet, God's Brain, God's Halo, God's Wings. It seemed he was beginning to grasp the essence of it.
By delegating authority and power to individual body parts, he could suppress the overwhelming force and take advantage of this "bug" without fear.
After all, an omnipotent power capable of controlling and rewriting universal laws couldn't be managed so easily. Even the slightest fluctuation could reduce multiple planets to dust.
Meanwhile, the sleeping duo finally began to stir, showing signs of waking from their slumber.
Zoro and Nami's expressions were filled with confusion and a trance-like daze as they gradually regained their ability to think and process their surroundings—only to reveal shock as realization dawned upon them.
They exchanged glances, failing to hide the terror etched across their faces, before turning their eyes toward Xun. The lazy figure lying there comfortably, bathed in serene confidence, filled them with deep awe.
Nami swallowed hard and stammered in a shaky tone, "X-Xun, are you really human? Like... are you not a god or something?"
Zoro looked equally shaken, his gaze betraying the same conclusion he suspected Nami had reached.
Xun slowly opened his eyes, observing their normal—though stunned—expressions. He let out a quiet sigh of relief.
Knowledge corruption was always a possibility with such a direct transfer, but fortunately—whether it was due to his luck or theirs—they seemed sane and healthy.
Xun coughed, adopting an exaggerated, almighty pose. The sunlight fell perfectly on his white hair and his bare upper body, highlighting his chiseled eight-pack abs as he proclaimed, "You lost lambs! I, Xun, god of the sea, have felt your longing, love, awe, and fear. Thus, I am here! Kneel in my presence and let me 'inspect' your faith. Zoro, you're fine. Nami, you can come to my room later tonight and—"
"PERVERT!!!"
Before he could finish, a wrathful fist slammed into him. Nami's face flushed crimson with both shame and irritation, though deep down, she felt an odd sense of relief.
Zoro's lips twitched as he watched the interaction, his gratitude evident. Xun's antics seemed to have dispelled much of their unease.
Xun pouted as he rubbed the sore spot on his head. "Ouch, Nami, that was too far! How could you attack a god?!"
Nami snorted, turning her back to him as she struggled to suppress the small smile tugging at her lips.
Suddenly, Zoro's expression shifted as if remembering something. "That Den-Den Mushi…"
Xun smirked, meeting Zoro's gaze. "As expected of you, Zoro—quite sharp. If only you were this sharp when it came to directions…"
Nami snickered, casting Zoro a teasing glance. She recalled how Xun had held onto Zoro's shoulder throughout their journey, an act so overly protective that even she had felt a pang of jealousy. Yet, her curiosity about the Den-Den Mushi remark piqued.
Zoro's face reddened as he muttered defensively, "I was just tired and hungry… I'm not a road idiot…"
Xun chuckled before explaining, "As I mentioned earlier, my comprehension is exceptionally strong. I discovered that Den-Den Mushi operate by transmitting signals—whether for calls, photos, videos, or files. Using that understanding, I located similar signals within human brains and imitated the process."
Although his explanation was riddled with oversights and omissions, it remained just within their ability to comprehend. Sensing an opportunity to divert their attention further, Xun continued, "Anyway, it's nothing major. How about you two? Did you grasp what I transmitted to you?"
Zoro and Nami's expressions shifted once more as memories of the knowledge transfer resurfaced. Both appeared stunned as they processed the enormity of what they had learned. Compared to Xun's techniques, their initial understanding now seemed laughably basic.
Zoro's eyes widened in disbelief. "I never imagined body control could be so profound. I thought increasing my strength tenfold was already impressive, but after learning this art, I realize how naïve I was—and how weak I still am. This technique allows control over every aspect of the body—not just power, but also healing, defense, agility, reaction speed, learning ability, height, weight, body shape, aging, and even things like hormones and secretions…"
"The swordsmanship…" Zoro's voice trembled with awe. "It's even more ridiculous! To think swordsmanship could reach a level where conceptual things—like feelings, injuries, pain, or even memories—could be severed. I can't believe even the strongest swordsman could achieve this!"
For the first time, Zoro's broadened perspective made his previous dream feel almost insignificant.
Nami, her eyes alight with excitement and hope for the future, chimed in, "Right! With this technique, I can make myself small or big, tall or short, fat or slim, beautiful or... well, uglier. I also learned the presence-erasure technique. With it, I'll definitely steal all the wealth in the world and make it mine!"
She paused before adding, "Still, I never realized how terrifying the weather of this world could be. No wonder this place is called Paradise and the New World! The weather here truly follows its own logic and mechanisms. But now, I'm confident I can achieve my dream and draw a complete map of the world."
Seeing their overjoyed expressions, Xun knew the knowledge transfer had been a success. While their body-control techniques didn't yet operate on a cellular level, the techniques were only a step below his own and were sufficient for them to grow. As for the swordsmanship and navigation skills, he had shared them generously. After all, even if he had provided his most advanced body-control techniques, they wouldn't be able to utilize them without a supercomputer-like brain. Their techniques relied more on instinct, whereas his depended on precise calculation.
