Chapter 40: CH 40: REACTION FROM THE WORLD
The room was silent, save for the rustling of paper as Yuji unfolded the freshly delivered newspaper. The bold, attention-grabbing headline stretched across the front page:
"Absolute Pirates Ravage Coctus Island! Dangerous New Threat Emerges!"
Yuji's sharp eyes scanned the accompanying image a chaotic scene depicting the aftermath of their battle. The destroyed town lay in ruins, Marines sprawled unconscious or lifeless on the ground. At the center of it all was his own picture, his expression calm but exuding an unmistakable aura of dominance.
Hancock leaned over his shoulder to read, her eyes narrowing. "They dare to call you a bloodthirsty criminal? Typical Marine lies."
"Uhm… Captain…" Bepo's hesitant voice broke the silence.
Yuji turned to see Bepo crouching on the floor, staring at three pieces of paper that had fallen from the folds of the newspaper.
"Look at this," Bepo said, his hand trembling slightly as he held up the bounty posters.
Yuji took the papers and scanned them one by one. Hancock and Law moved closer to get a better view, and even Van Augur turned his head slightly, his expression unreadable.

Yuji smirked as he read the numbers. "Hmph. A little lower than I expected, considering I fought toe to toe with Garp. They're hiding the truth."
Law crossed his arms, his expression unimpressed. "They're covering their pride. The Marines can't admit that someone like you went against their so-called hero and lived."
Bepo, however, wasn't focused on the numbers. "Uh, Captain… where's my bounty?"
Yuji glanced at him, then back at the posters. "Looks like they forgot about you, Bepo."
"Forgot?" Bepo's shoulders slumped, his ears drooping in disappointment. "Does that mean… I'm not part of the crew?"
Hancock stifled a laugh, but Van Augur and Law didn't bother hiding their amusement.
"You should be glad," Law said, patting Bepo on the back. "No bounty means you're not a criminal yet."
"But I want to feel included…" Bepo muttered, his voice barely audible.
Yuji chuckled, placing a hand on Bepo's head. "Don't worry, Bepo. You're still part of the crew, bounty or not."
As the room settled, Yuji's gaze shifted to Van Augur. "What do you think about my offer?"
Van Augur adjusted his hat and looked away, his expression unreadable. "I still don't know."
Yuji smirked. "You'll come around. Like I said, the meeting between people—the first time is a coincidence, the second is by necessity, and the third…"
"...is fate," Van Augur finished, his voice steady.
Yuji nodded. "How about this? If we meet again, a third time, you'll join my crew."
Van Augur raised an eyebrow. "A bet, then?"
"A promise," Yuji corrected, his golden eyes gleaming.
Van Augur stared at him for a moment before nodding. "Fine. If fate brings us together a third time, I'll join." With that, he turned and left the room, leaving Yuji and his crew in reflective silence.
As the bounty posters of Yuji and his crew spread across the seas, their names reached the ears of the most powerful figures in the world.
On Moby dick
On the deck of the Moby Dick, Whitebeard sat on his massive throne-like chair, his towering presence overshadowing even the largest of his crewmates. Marco, his first division commander, handed him a bounty poster.
Whitebeard's eyes scanned Yuji's poster, a grin spreading across his face. "GURARARARA! Another young fool who thinks he can shake the seas. If he wants to challenge me, let him come!"
Marco smirked. "He's got guts, though. Standing up to Garp and living to tell the tale isn't something you see every day."
"GURARARARA! True enough. But guts alone won't save him if he crosses my path."
On Onigashima
King entered Kaido's throne room, holding Yuji's bounty poster. He handed it to the Emperor without a word.
Kaido's eyes lit up as he read the bounty. "WORORORO! A mythical zoan user, eh? And one with Lunarian traits…"
King's wings twitched slightly. "He's dangerous, Kaido-san. Recruiting him might not be as simple as you think."
Kaido grinned. "If he's strong, he'll join the Beast Pirates. If not, I'll crush him."
King's tone turned cautious. "He doesn't seem like the type to bow to anyone."
"WORORORO! Then I'll enjoy breaking him even more!"
On totto Land
Big Mom cackled as she held Yuji's bounty poster in her hands. "Mama-mama! Another interesting soul has appeared on the seas!"
Katakuri stood nearby, his expression as stoic as ever. "He's strong, but reckless. Taking on Garp and the Marines like that…"
Big Mom's grin widened. "Strength is all that matters, Katakuri. If he survives long enough, perhaps I'll invite him to join the Charlotte Family."
On Amazon Lily
Back on Hancock's home island, her sisters Marigold and Sandersonia stared at her bounty poster with a mix of pride and envy.
"Big sis looks amazing!" Marigold said.
"She abandoned us to sail with that rude man…" Sandersonia muttered, though her voice lacked genuine anger.
"Quiet, you two!" Gloriosa snapped. "She's neglected her duties as the future Empress. Running off with a pirate crew…"
But even Gloriosa couldn't hide the hint of a smile tugging at her lips.
On an Unknown Island
Ulti ran through the forest, waving a bounty poster in her hand. "Hey, Pay-tan! Look, look!"
Page One, in the middle of a fight with a massive bear, barely glanced her way. "Not now, Big Sis!"
Before the bear could attack, Ulti transformed into her hybrid form and delivered a devastating headbutt.
"ULTI-MORTAR!"
The bear collapsed, unconscious. Ulti grinned triumphantly and handed Page One the poster.
"Look! Yuji's bounty!"
Page One's eyes widened. "He recruited someone new!"
Ulti pouted, crossing her arms. "UGH! Why would Yuji leave us here while he's out having fun?"
Page One smirked. "Big Sis, Yuji said he'd come back for us once we're stronger."
"Well, we're strong enough now!" Ulti declared.
Page One chuckled. "Let's keep training. When he comes back, we'll be ready."
Back in their hideout, Yuji folded the bounty poster and placed it in his pocket.
"So," Hancock said, her arms crossed. "What's our next move, Captain?"
Yuji smirked, his golden eyes gleaming with determination. "We keep sailing. If the world's already watching, let's give them a show they'll never forget."
His crew nodded, their spirits high despite the challenges ahead. The Absolute Pirates were just getting started.
To Be Continued..
