One Piece: Getting Stronger by Writing a Diary

Chapter 178: Chapter 139.5 – A familiar person

"Tsuru, where do you think this Arton came from? With such power, why haven't we heard his name before? and he's also accompanied by Shanks' daughter. Is this man's appearance somehow connected to Shanks?" Sengoku asked, rubbing his temples as he turned to Tsuru after hanging up the call with Garp.

"My understanding of Arton isn't as deep as Garp's. He's the one who's had direct contact with Arton. My knowledge is mostly based on what I've heard from Gion," Tsuru replied, shaking her head. After a brief pause, she continued, "However, anyone with the ability to make both Garp and Gion want to recruit him into the Navy is certainly not simple. I strongly agree with something Gion mentioned to me: a man with such potential and a decent character—whether he becomes a Warlord of the Sea or not—should not become an enemy of the Navy."

Sengoku nodded slightly in agreement, adding, "Indeed, anyone capable of defeating Shiki is a force to be reckoned with."

"Rather than letting him become an enemy of the Navy, making him a Warlord of the Sea would be a better choice," Sengoku mused. "However, there currently isn't a vacancy in the Warlord positions. But if Gion says Arton has a decent character, why is he so determined to form a pirate crew? Could it be the influence of Shanks' daughter?"

Tsuru shook her head and sighed, "I have some idea about that. This man's ship was once sunk by a Celestial Dragon."

"What?!" Sengoku's eyes widened in shock. "A Celestial Dragon? That's… troublesome."

Sengoku's face twitched as he tried to process the information. In that moment, he felt a wave of helplessness. If a man with the potential to join the Navy had turned pirate because of a Celestial Dragon, Sengoku wasn't sure whether he should start complaining about the Celestial Dragons themselves.

"I remember there are still Celestial Dragons in the East Blue. We should keep an eye on that situation to prevent any interaction between Arton and the Celestial Dragons," Tsuru suggested.

"Even if Arton is reckless, he wouldn't be crazy enough to attack a Celestial Dragon, right?" Sengoku raised an eyebrow.

"It's better to be safe than sorry," Tsuru replied. "What if Arton really does go off the deep end?"

Hearing this, Sengoku stared at the documents on his desk related to Arton, falling deep into thought once again. After a long pause, his gaze shifted to the file on Uta, and he murmured, "Shanks must have already seen today's newspaper. If Arton does something against the Celestial Dragons, what would Shanks do? But surely, Arton wouldn't go that far…"

Despite his reasoning, Sengoku couldn't find a solid motive for Arton to attack the Celestial Dragons. However, he wasn't about to dismiss Tsuru's advice. Soon, he and Tsuru began discussing related strategies.

While Sengoku was deep in his concerns, elsewhere in the New World, on a desolate island…

"Boss, look at the latest newspaper! Something big has happened," called out Yasopp, a senior officer and sharpshooter of the Red-Haired Pirates, as he hurried over with the news in hand.

Shanks, the red-haired pirate, was enjoying his drink when Yasopp rushed over with the latest newspaper.

"Hmm? What could have you so worked up, Yasopp?" Shanks asked, raising his glass to Yasopp with a hearty laugh. "Forget about it, whatever it is, just drink up first! Hahaha."

Yasopp, however, placed the drink aside and held up the newspaper with a serious expression. "Drinking can wait, but you need to see this first!"

Normally, Yasopp would have downed the drink without hesitation, but the news in the paper was too important to ignore. His uncharacteristic behavior drew the attention of the other senior members of the Red-Haired Pirates, including Benn Beckman and Lucky Roux, who were now curious about what could make Yasopp refuse a drink.

Shanks raised an eyebrow at Yasopp's unusual behavior but began to read the newspaper. After a moment, his eyes widened in shock.

"What?! Shiki has returned to the seas?" Shanks exclaimed, immediately drawing the attention of the entire Red-Haired Pirates crew. "Wait, no—he wasn't just back, he was killed by a rookie pirate?!"

"Shiki? The legendary pirate who once rivaled Roger?" Lucky Roux remarked with interest, biting into a large piece of meat as he walked over. "I can't believe he was still alive. But it looks like he's gotten so old that even a rookie could take him down."

"No, Shiki still had powerful abilities," Shanks corrected him. "This rookie must be a monster!"

"The newspaper says he can create a world of swords," Benn Beckman added as he read the news. "This rookie pirate named Arton even claimed that these swords are more powerful than the Supreme Grade Swords!"

"A power to create infinite swords, huh? That guy Mihawk is definitely going to be curious about this Arton, hahaha," Shanks said, slapping his thigh.

"Come on, Shanks, and the rest of you—can you focus on the important part here?" Yasopp said, exasperated by his crewmates' reactions.

"Aren't we focusing on the important part?" Shanks grinned. "You came to tell us about Shiki, didn't you?"

"Idiot Shanks, look closely here," Yasopp said, pointing to a particular photo printed in the newspaper. "Doesn't this person look familiar to you?"

"A photo?" Shanks squinted at the image. "Wait, this is... Uta?!"

Recognizing the familiar face in the photograph, Shanks immediately stood up, shocked.
