Chapter 37: Child -35
Hina sipped her juice slowly without saying a single word.
In fact, she was the least surprised among them.
During her time at Marine Headquarters, she had encountered all sorts of talented individuals. Based on the power Peter had demonstrated alone, he was no less formidable than the giant Vice Admirals of the main base... Not to mention, this wasn't even his full strength. Perhaps only that woman knew the true extent of his power.
As Hina pondered that thought, she lifted her gaze toward Robin, whose calm expression remained unchanged, as if she had anticipated it all along.
"Ni... Robin, you were the first to follow him, right? How much do you really know about him?"
It was the first time Hina initiated a conversation with Robin, and her tone was a little awkward.
Robin looked at her calmly, then her face brightened with a smile as she quietly closed her book.
"Ah, has our dear Marine lady finally decided to speak to us? Looks like Peter's charm is truly irresistible—even you've become one of his admirers."
Hina's beautiful face turned cold immediately, and she stared at Robin with a calm expression, though the anger in her eyes was clear.
After a long stare-down, Robin finally gave in with a smile.
"Alright, alright, sorry, I misunderstood you."
She said it with a smile, but her eyes betrayed her—she wasn't truly sorry. In fact, she seemed to enjoy provoking her.
All the girls around her silently labeled her "the wicked woman."
"Hmph, forget it if you don't want to talk. Hina was just asking casually anyway."
Hina's stubbornness planted doubt in the hearts of Vivi and the other girls.
"Sis... the whole tsundere act isn't trendy anymore, you know. Try being a little nicer, please."
"Alright then, I won't say anything." Robin replied with a smile, reopening her book.
Vivi was so anxious she nearly jumped up, while Carina surrendered and pleaded:
"Sister Robin, stop leaving us hanging! Just tell us already!"
"Yes, please, Sister Robin~~"
Robin finally sighed and said, "Alright, but I honestly don't know much... All I know is that he belongs to a race called the Saiyans. He's the last of them... and a prince." She paused, then continued, "I don't know the rest—not his origins, nor the reason the Saiyans went extinct."
She raised her hands in frustration, as if trying hard to gather information. But Peter had kept his mouth shut and revealed nothing useful.
All the girls fell into thoughtful silence.
Vivi said with obvious jealousy, "Even now, Sister Robin is still the closest to Peter... He never told me anything like that."
Carina and Mikita also nodded with disappointment. "Us too..."
They glanced at each other with defeated expressions, then lowered their heads like three wives beaten by the first wife.
Robin tilted her head gently, tapped her cheek with a finger, and said mischievously:
"Is there a chance none of you actually asked him?"
"Huh?" *3
The three girls froze, then clapped their hands together in sudden realization.
"That's right!!"
Hina: "...Three idiots."
Hina finally understood why the girls had so easily accepted being Peter's women within just a few days.
With intelligence like that, even if Peter one day took all their money, they'd probably end up thanking him.
She watched them silently, then drifted into deep thought.
"Saiyan? If that race was truly powerful, how come there's no record of them in the Marines?"
It boiled down to two possibilities: either Peter was lying... or the race didn't originate in this world. Or perhaps, they had been deliberately erased from history—like the Void Century. (That's three possibilities~)
And the only power capable of that... is the World Government.
Only then did Hina understand why Nico Robin followed him.
They were the kind of people the World Government had forbidden from existing.
When she reached that conclusion, Hina looked at Robin with a hint of sympathy in her eyes, which left Robin slightly confused.
Just then, Carina suddenly shouted:
"Could Peter's lust be because his race is facing extinction?"
"He wants to repopulate his species himself!"
She banged the table with excitement, as if she had uncovered the greatest secret.
Upon hearing that, Vivi, Mikita, and Hina's eyes lit up at the same time.
Even Robin clapped for her. "Amazing! You guessed that on the first try?"
Carina laughed, "I'm famous for my wisdom—I can uncover secrets just like that."
She rubbed her nose proudly, unaware that Robin and the other two had quietly stepped away from her.
While she was basking in her moment of triumph, a voice came from behind:
"Since you're so smart... you should give birth to a genius child for me."
A strong hand wrapped around her from behind, and Peter pulled her off the chair.
He had just returned from swimming and was planning to shower—now he had a chance to take Carina along.
Carina's face turned pale as she looked to the others for help.
But everyone, even Robin, ignored her.
Some buried their heads in books, others nervously drank juice—desperate to avoid the same fate.
Carina screamed as she was dragged away: "Remember this! One day you'll all need me!!"
Her voice faded as she was taken into the cabin.
Once she was gone, the four remaining girls let out a collective sigh of relief.
After a few breaths, Vivi patted her stomach with concern and said in a troubled tone:
"I gave birth to a child... yet I still feel like a child myself."
Mikita looked at Vivi's round belly and teased:
"Stop lying to yourself... that's all from the sweets and snacks you've been eating."
Vivi's concern deepened. She collapsed onto the table with a heavy sigh.
As for Hina, her expression was the darkest among them.
To her, she wasn't a lover—she was a prisoner.
To be forced to have a child by that man? She'd rather die.
She resolved, secretly, that once she reached land, she'd secretly buy contraceptives—even if it cost her life.
What no one noticed... was that Robin's smile had vanished at some point.
She gently placed her hand over her flat stomach.
No one knew what she was thinking.
