Chapter 80: [80] Raise the White Flag—Surrender!
"A ship from Amazon Lily?"
Could it be the Pirate Empress?
Hearing Shalria's words, Sora paused, surprised.
"Y-You go take a look first. I, uh…" Vivi's face turned crimson. She wanted to say 'I'll wait for you', but couldn't bring herself to speak the words aloud.
Sora gave her a teasing kiss, pulled her into an embrace, and walked out of the captain's quarters with her in hand.
Seeing Vivi's flushed cheeks and how Sora was holding her hand so affectionately, Shalria bit her lip, clearly envious.
Sora rarely showed that kind of intimacy toward her or Anna.
"Master, the ship from Amazon Lily is over there!"
Up on deck, Shalria pointed to a large vessel being pulled by two enormous sea serpents.
Nami, Nojiko, Mikita, and the others were also watching the distant ship with great curiosity. It was their first time seeing a vessel dragged by giant snakes.
"Master, your spyglass," Anna said, handing Sora a telescope.
"Damn… it's only the second Boa sister, Sandersonia."
Sora took the spyglass and peered through it. What a letdown.
The only passengers on the ship were Sandersonia and a handful of rugged-looking female warriors from Amazon Lily.
None of the beautiful warriors from the storyline—like Marguerite, Aphelandra, Kikyo, or Rindo—were present.
He was deeply disappointed.
Sora only needed one more person to join his pirate crew to meet the 18-member threshold and trigger an upgrade to a Level 3 Pirate Crew.
That upgrade would unlock new abilities, new crew roles, and—most importantly—give him an additional ship binding slot. That way, he could officially bind the Ark Maxim to his fleet and control it just like the Divine Slave.
So he was just one person away from a significant power boost.
Should he bring Sandersonia into the crew for the upgrade and then kick her out afterward?
Sora hesitated as he studied her.
If she still looked like her adorable younger self, maybe he'd let her stay and serve alongside her sister, the Pirate Empress. That kind of sister act had its own appeal.
But now…
Yeah, maybe not.
While Sora debated, Sandersonia's ship drew near the Divine Slave. They raised signal flags, instructing him to halt.
As a vessel operating under the protection of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Amazon Lily's ships had legal clearance to plunder targets.
"Lady Sandersonia, that ship looks like a merchant vessel. There don't seem to be many people on board," reported a burly, masculine-looking female warrior after observing Sora's ship through a telescope.
"Just take their food and money. Don't touch anything else," Sandersonia said casually.
To maintain the Pirate Empress's public image and secure her place among the Seven Warlords, Amazon Lily's ships generally refrained from plundering merchant vessels—and if they did, they were usually restrained about it.
After giving her orders, Sandersonia leaned on the railing with a bored sigh.
She had been near Water 7 for days and still hadn't found a trace of the Godslayer, Sora.
She was beginning to believe her mission—to negotiate for the flying ship technology—was going to fail.
Still lost in thought, she looked toward the approaching "merchant" ship.
That one glance stopped her cold.
"…Huh?"
"Lady Sandersonia, th-that man looks like the Godslayer Sora…" a female warrior stammered, face pale, staring at Sora standing on the deck of the Divine Slave.
Of all the people they could try to rob—they chose him.
We're screwed…
The warrior, who considered herself quite a "beauty," started sweating profusely. Sora had a reputation for abducting princesses and beautiful women.
Why isn't he flying a pirate flag?! Why the merchant banner?! Sandersonia cursed silently.
Because Sora's ship flew a merchant flag, she hadn't looked through the telescope herself. Otherwise, she would have immediately recognized him.
If she'd known Sora was aboard, she never would've even considered an attack.
She was here to negotiate peacefully, and now they'd just tried to rob him…
There's no way he'll believe they came in peace now.
Just as panic set in, Sandersonia saw five figures launch from the Divine Slave, soaring straight toward her.
Clearly, they weren't here to talk.
Leading the charge was Sora himself.
She quickly calculated the power gap between them and then shouted to her crew:
"Raise the white flag—surrender!"
From the air, Reiju watched the Amazon Lily ship raise the white flag and felt a strange sense of déjà vu.
"Looks like they're surrendering," she said, glancing at Sora mid-flight.
"In that case, no need to fight," Sora responded casually.
If they had chosen to resist, he wouldn't have shown mercy. He'd kill anyone who needed killing.
"Sora, looks like that handsome face of yours really works wonders. You scared them into surrendering," Nami said with a mischievous smile, clad in her revealing combat outfit.
As the wielder of the Logia-type Rumble-Rumble Fruit, she was now one of the ship's main fighters and had come along ready for battle.
"Hmph, I joined this crew because of that face," Mikita joked with a wink, standing beside her in her own seductive outfit.
"Tch. Weren't you captured?" Nojiko, also dressed for combat, rolled her eyes.
Mikita just shrugged. "Like you weren't?"
Reiju, Nami, and Nojiko all fell into silence at that.
A short while later, the five of them landed aboard the Amazon Lily ship.
There, they found the crew disarmed and submissive—completely lacking the will to fight.
Among them was Boa Sandersonia, second of the three Boa sisters, towering and green-haired.
Sora looked around at the tall, burly warriors—none under three meters in height—and frowned.
Then he turned to Sandersonia, who stood at over four meters tall, and his frown deepened.
"Is everyone accounted for?" he asked, eyeing the kneeling Sandersonia.
She glanced back at her warriors and quickly replied, "One person's still in the cabin."
Just as she spoke, a tall figure stepped out of the ship's cabin, whistling and carrying a tray of food, clearly in a good mood.
Sora's eyes lit up when he saw her.
Apherandra?
