Chapter 2156: The Dashavatara (Kalki, Parashurama) -Part 24

When Kalki and Parashurama saw the scenery, he scoffed at them as if it was an insult to their abilities but it was not the same for Kalki. She felt as if Jin had customised a dungeon instance just for her.

Not because of the beautiful huge lake under a waxing moon that reminded her of her origins, where she was born but more due to the fact that those water clones do not have a mind of their own. They were born from the chi related powers of Kraft thus rendering her future sight on the water clones to be useless.

The only thing that she could predict right now was that the sly looking gentleman in a trench coat standing in the middle of the lake would be producing more of these water clones. But even Parashurama who had no such ability to look into the future would also deduce that the person they had to defeat would be the summoner in his trench coat to stop this from happening.

However, even though it looked as if it would be an easy fight, the moment Parashurama clashed with the first few Water Clones, he realised they were not as simple as they looked. All of them were able to parry against his huge swings and the fact that they managed to hold out without breaking form and not destroying itself showed that these water clones were of a high level.

Upon experiencing how their current enemy worked, the Water Clones moved immediately. In an attempt to bring Parashurama down with quantity, they performed several of the same basic Lotus Sword Techniques. Those flowery patterns were not able to go through the Celestial's barrier, much less leave a scratch of him.

Thus, Parashurama decided to utilise his Battle Fury buffs, allowing him to enter a state of heightened strength and endurance.

If a swing was not sufficient, then perhaps the swing did not put in adequate strength to make sure that it worked. Hence, with his own personal buff activated, the Celestial Avenger once again threw his axe around in an attempt to clear the Water Clones to the best of his abilities.

Unfortunately, as much as they could not make a dent on him, so did his axe regardless of the strength that he had portrayed.

Kraft laughed at the scene, knowing that this clueless Celestial did not know that all of these water clones were a replica of a Sword Saint. The only other person who could see this was none other than the Goddess of War, Kalki. She saw how the swords twisted and turned in a nick of time, disallowing the momentum of the axe to get in the way of its trajectory.

And because Kraft now knew that the basic techniques could not pierce through the Celestial barriers without the anti Celestial coating, then it meant that he too had to do the same as Parashurama had done. Increasing the complexity of the sword technique that had been unleashed.

This time around, the Water Clones synchronised with one another, allowing them to collectively hit the Celestial Avenger at the rate that the barriers could be broken and Parashurama had to take action in order to defend himself. However, the avenger himself was an attacker, not a defender. The wounds that the Water Clones inflicted were strong enough to cause him to bleed.

If not for the fact that he was a Dashavatara, he might have died if the battle dragged on.

The regeneration under the state of Battle Fury helped significantly but it did not provide much aid when it came to protecting oneself. The only way was for Kalki to intervene, which she did at the very last minute when she noticed one of the Water Clones was going for a lethal strike onto Parashurama when he was distracted by the other Water Clones.

She managed to deflect it but had no idea that the Lotus Sword Technique was a continuous attack that caused the Water Clone to continue pressing his assault despite the parry he had received from Kalki. This in turn caused her to strengthen her swords and in a blink of an eye, the Water Clone was cut into two.

Still, that did not stop the remaining Water Clones or scare them away. It was precisely because of the fact that they were Water Clones and the Celestials were stupid enough to fight on the top of the lake, that this became a disadvantageous position for the two of them. It was to the point where Parashurama had enough and sent out a roar that echoed through the entire dungeon instance.

At that moment, humanoid phantoms started to materialise around the Celestial Avenger in red coloured mist form. They then started to clash on behalf of the Parashurama against the Water Clones, giving both of the Celestials a breather until they realised that the vengeful phantoms that Parashurama had collected in his life had been defeated in a sword stroke by the Water Clones.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" Parashurama roared once more and tougher looking red mist phantoms emerged around him again. They too were defeated in one stroke but the time bought for Kalki was more than sufficient to allow her to summon 'Judgement Day'.

A skill that should be able to engulf the entire lake with fire filled with Celestial energy. In fact, it should be powerful enough to evaporate the Water Clones and even injure the summoner.

However, she was hoping that Kalki would be able to kill the summoner because this particular area of effect of magic could not be cast in such a short time frame. And by doing so, she had to pay for the consequences since the backlash from the spell would soon hit her the moment the cast when off.

"Oh? Here I thought, you guys are just a bunch of close combatants. If you are playing with magic, then I should do the same too." Kraft smiled as he saw the white coloured flames spread wildly around the lake, consuming anything that it touched. In a split second, the Devil had already identified that this was not just any simple magic.

It was World Ending kind of magic and he was glad that he could respond in kind too.
