NBA Skills: Dominating Kuroko no Basket

Chapter 95: Flying to America

Time flies, and in the blink of an eye, Shiro and the others had graduated from middle school and were now high school students.

Looking back, it felt like just yesterday they were sweating it out on the basketball court, reveling in the pure joy the game brought. Now, they were heading off in different directions, starting new chapters in their lives.

One sunny afternoon, a gentle breeze rustled through the trees in a park, where Shiro and Momoi sat together on a bench. Leaning against him, Momoi breathed in the faint, familiar scent that always comforted her. She asked softly, "Shiro, have you decided which high school you'll attend?"

Shiro smiled warmly, stroking her silky hair. "Not yet" he replied. "I've received so many offers from top schools, it's hard to choose."

Momoi furrowed her brows, trying to recall the names of their friends' chosen schools. "Aomine went to Too Academy, Midorima to Shutoku High, and Kuroko to Seirin High. They're all in Tokyo. Akashi chose Rakuzan in Kyoto, Murasakibara went to Yosen High in Akita, and Kise joined Kaijo High in Kanagawa" she murmured.

Shiro chuckled, shaking his head with a hint of helplessness. "I didn't expect them to decide so quickly" he sighed.

Momoi pouted and teased, "Hmph, I'm the only one still sticking with you, wandering around like a drifter without a school!"

Shiro quickly reassured her, "Alright, alright, don't be mad. I just haven't made up my mind yet. We still have time. By the way, Momoi, how about we take a trip to the U.S. during the holidays?"

Momoi widened her eyes in surprise. "What? Why the sudden urge to visit the U.S.?"

"My mom wants me to go" Shiro explained with a shrug.

"Is it okay for me to go? She invited you, not me" Momoi said, her voice tinged with hesitation.

"Why wouldn't it be okay? You've already met her" Shiro replied with a playful grin. "Plus, we've been together for years. Our parents have met, and they're happy about us!"

Hearing this, Momoi nodded slightly, though her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. She responded, "Alright, I'll talk to my parents later and see what they think" She stood up, ready to leave.

But Shiro wasn't about to let her go so easily. He grabbed her hand, pulling her back to him. With a teasing smile, he said, "One little kiss isn't enough"

Momoi gasped at the unexpected move, her face turning a deep shade of red.

Shiro wrapped an arm around her waist and tilted her chin gently with the other, meeting her lips in a soft kiss. Overwhelmed by the moment, Momoi closed her eyes, her arms instinctively wrapping around his neck as their affection deepened.

...

As the night fell and silence blanketed the world, Shiro lay in bed, his mind drifting to his middle school years. The tournaments, the victories, and even the defeats were now part of his memories.

But he knew those days were just the prelude. High school basketball would be where the real excitement began. The matchups with the Generation of Miracles and the arrival of players like Kagami promised unforgettable battles.

Shiro suppressed his excitement, determined to focus on improving himself.

"Show my stats" Shiro muttered in his mind.

"System, redeem Gary Payton's Glove steals"

After his intense match with the American team, Shiro realized he still had room to grow defensively. While his offense was formidable, he wasn't confident about stopping opponents' attacks like Davis without entering in the zone.

Gary Payton was renowned for his defensive prowess and stealing ability. Gaining this skill significantly enhanced Shiro's defensive capabilities, bringing him closer to his goals and setting him up for even greater achievements.

...

The day of their trip arrived. Early in the morning, Momoi packed her suitcase, feeling both nervous and excited about her first flight. When the doorbell rang, Shiro was there to pick her up.

After some final preparations, they headed to the airport. Sitting in the waiting lounge, Momoi couldn't hide her excitement, observing everything around her with curiosity.

Shiro, amused, smiled warmly. "What's so fascinating?" he teased.

"Just... everything! It's my first time flying!" she exclaimed.

Soon, the boarding announcement came, and the pair made their way to their seats. As the plane took off, Momoi gazed out the window, marveling at the view. But as the hours passed, her excitement gave way to drowsiness.

Noticing her sleepy state, Shiro gently handed her an eye mask. "Get some rest. We have a long flight ahead" he said softly.

Momoi smiled, slipped on the mask, and soon drifted into a peaceful sleep. Shiro watched her, his hand holding hers, a quiet contentment filling his heart.
