Naval Gacha System: It's Time To Monopolize The Seven Seas!

Chapter 247: | 247 | The Battle for Servusarator: Minos Rebellion Part 3

The western region of Servusarator faced the complete onslaught of the United Military. The Minos Rebels that had taken control of multiple cities were overwhelmed by the sudden invasion, unable to mount a satisfactory defense against the United World Government.

As such, an hour after the beginning of Operation Rebound, three western cities and four prison camps had been lost to the control of the United Military. With them were five military camps burning asunder from the first assault of the United Navy.

The Minos Rebel Government were barely maintaining control over the western region of Servusarator. Though, most of their authority were merely contained within the western and southern borders, which was filled to the brim with fortresses.

Nevertheless, the invading forces of the United Military continued to make forward strides into these fortress, intending to take them down and liberate the area from the control of the Minos Rebels. However, retaking the western region wasn't without its issues.

The Minos Rebels were ruthless in their actions, bordering the line of madness. Most of them were willing to die for the Minos Rebel Government, making their surrender akin to ferocious strategies to attack the United Military Forces off-guard.

It was for these reasons that surrendering Minos Rebels were immediately shackled and put down like rabid animals as to ensure their own safety and the security of the surrounding United Military personnel. Although these imprisoning tactics would face the scrutiny of historians in the future.

It was the best way to guarantee the lives of both the rebel and the soldier of the United World Government.

...

Western national road interstate...

Several platoons of the United Army Third Division had fortified the nation road interstate connecting the western region from the north, south, and central regions. Currently, a vast plains resided before them, uttering calm and silence.

But for the soldiers fortifying the surrounding area, the silence was akin to the calm before the storm. Although, the armored vehicles beside them provide reassurance of their capabilities to handle any threats. With them were five APCs, three IFVs, and two MBTs.

It was a substantial amount of firepower, but they weren't fighting against forces that wield swords and bows. The rebel forces had armaments and vehicles previously donated by the United World Government to their local government. These bastards were practically using the United Military's weapons against them.

Fortunately, the weapons sent by the United World Government to the Minos Government before their unexpected rebellion were old relics of the past. In terms of technology, the United Military has greater advantages against their adversaries.

Though, it does propose a question in whether or not the United World Government should continue contributing weapons to the local military forces of the states under them.

Well, such a question would be answered by the end of this war. After all, there was no doubt that the senators within the United World Government would be interested in tackling the issue that eithers advances or degrades their sovereignty over the sea region of Terra.

At any rate, as the soldiers fortified the interstate with sandbags, trenches, and chained-link fences, their captain walked forward, observing their preparations with scrutiny. Although they weren't currently fighting against the bastard rebels of Minos, the company still resided in the utmost frontlines of the battlefield.

If the central, northern, and southern region of Servusarator decided to send in reinforcements. They would be the ones facing it. Naturally, their preparations must be as tightly-secured as possible. Otherwise, it wouldn't take long before they would be breached and defeated by the rebels.

'The Forward Operating Base is currently behind us. We must protect it no matter what, and buy time if the adversaries have the superior power.' The captain thought to himself, though a soldier soon stood in front of him, giving a salute.

"Sir, the preparations have been completed." The soldier reported to the first lieutenant, who nodded in understanding. "Good, stand in your positions and armed yourselves. Prepare for a counter-assault from the Minos Rebels."

The captain ordered, to which the reporting soldier replied. "Understood, Sir. I shall relay your orders." Leaving the first lieutenant, a communication operator stepped forward, another report coming in. "Captain, reinforcements from the Forward Operating Base will reach us in less than an hour."

Hearing the report of the communication operator, the captain of the company raised his eyebrows. Less than an hour might not be long, but in their circumstance, it was too long. Gazing at the communication operator, the first lieutenant questioned. "May I know the reasons?"

"Leftovers from the rebel army are currently plaguing nearby villages and towns. The civilians must be rescued, so airlifts are being prioritized in saving them. The FOB has sent an armored convoy of twenty vehicles to reinforced us, costing more time." The communication operator explained.

"Alright, see to it that the platoon commanders are briefed." The first lieutenant could only shake his head in understanding as the priority of the invasion was to ensure the safety of civilians. The Forward Operating Base simply couldn't ignore the Minos Rebels terrorizing nearby villages and towns.

"Affirmative, Captain." The communication operator straightened their back and saluted to the first lieutenant before walking away. As the communication operator disappeared from his sight, the captain turned his attention back at the fortification surrounding them.

The fortification was barebones, but it was merely a temporary one. The only thing the company needed were the incoming reinforcements of the Forward Operating Base. As long as the armored convoy reached them, the mission should be considered as complete.

A bell then rang out of nowhere as a spotter standing on top of a tower pointed at their east. Their radios quickly opened, followed by the words of the spotter. *Hostile incoming, 3 clicks west from us. An armored battalion, fifty mechanized vehicles and twenty-one heavy tanks.*

*Numbers of hostile soldiers unknown, but estimated to be 800-1200 Minos Rebels.* The reports of the spotter resounded, astounding everyone who had heard of it. Even the first lieutenant couldn't believe what he was hearing, but it wasn't the time to be dumbfounded.

Without a tinge of hesitation and delay, the captain swiftly ordered through the radios. "Prepare for battle! Head to your defensive positions and armed everything we got!" Afterward, he called out to the communication operator, giving another order. Stay tuned for updates on empire

"Send a distress call to the Forward Operating Base. Report to them about the incoming armored battalion, we need air support to pound them to the ground!" The communication operator quickly nodded, calling the FOB communications for air support.

The first lieutenant walked towards the trenches with a binoculars in his hand and observed the incoming enemy armored battalion. If not for the fact that they had situated their fortification on a hilltop, they would not have noticed the bastards heading towards them.

Ideas poured through his mind as he wondered about the strategies he could implement against the enemy battalion. They could turtle in their position, but it wouldn't take long before they get overwhelmed by the superior numbers of their adversary.

The personnel under his command were 210 soldiers, which already included the operators of their armored vehicles. With their adversaries coming in with heavy tanks, trucks, and jeeps, staying inside their fortifications would mean certain death.

There was also the possibility that the armored battalion might surround them and closed their escape routes from behind. Against their enemy pounding them into oblivion, it would be surprising for the air support to find them alive after twenty minutes of fighting.

'These bastards are known to be ruthless and crazy. They probably wouldn't care about casualties and plow through us like a dump truck!' The first lieutenant thought to himself and glanced at the nearby APCs, IFVs, and MBTs An idea struck him, and it was through the utilization of his mechanized units.

Although the APCs, IFVs and MBTs under his command wouldn't be enough to handle over seventy armored vehicles, they would be able to buy time and perhaps sow chaos within the formation of the rebel armored battalion.

With this in mind, the captain immediately contacted the operations of the mechanized and armored vehicles. He briefed them about his idea, to which they agreed. Lodging in trenches would destroy their greatest strength, which wasn't only superior armor, but excellent maneuverability in the battlefield.

"That is a sound plan, captain. Not bad." The tank commander remarked as the engines of the armored vehicles rumbled to life. The metallic body trembled as the wheels and tracks of the armored assets moved onward. The mission given to them by the first lieutenant was clear.

Attract the attention of the incoming battalion and lay suppressive fire towards their direction. The only thing they need to do was stall the rebel armored battalion as much as possible. Though, they could retreat if the strategy was proving to be incapable of achieving its objective.

The soldiers of the interstate fortification could only watch as the armored vehicles rumbled onward, their turrets pointed towards the direction of their adversaries. The battle formation was simple. The MBTs remained at the rear, with the IFVs in the middle, while the APCs drive in the frontlines.

The battle formation was vast, ensuring that each vehicles would have a massive maneuvering space. It doesn't even matter how much they turn as long as they maintained formation.

At any rate, the captain observed with heavy heart, understanding that his strategy required the sacrifice of those that dared to stand in the path of their adversaries. Even though he presented the ability to retreat if they couldn't handle the firepower of the rebel armored battalion.

There was no way someone from the United Military would retreat in a battle to protect their comrades.

After all, they were the soldiers of the United Army, the shield and sword of the United World Government.
