Chapter 45: Fuinjutsu.

After returning to the village, I made my way straight to the Senju compound. The mission had gone smoothly in the end, and honestly, I was looking forward to a break—even if it was short. When I got home, the place was quiet.

Tsunade wasn't there. I wasn't surprised, though. Lately, she's been working on something big.

With the Second Great Ninja War still fresh in everyone's memory, Tsunade had once proposed an idea—to assign a medical ninja to every squad. Back then, the council rejected it. They thought medics would be liabilities on the battlefield. Fools. That mindset had already cost Konoha too many lives.

But now? Things were changing. The war might've ended, but small skirmishes had started again. Tensions were simmering beneath the surface. And Tsunade… she was pushing hard to get her proposal approved before the next war began.

I figured Shizune must be with her at the hospital, working late. With nothing else to do, I decided to work on my fuinjutsu instead. So I headed into the sealed section of the house—one that Tsunade had recently taught me how to access.

The seal on the entrance was tied to chakra signatures and required a specific hand sign. Tsunade had already linked it to my chakra, which meant only the two of us could open it. Honestly, this place had more classified materials and ancient jutsu than the Hokage's own archive vault.

Once inside, I went straight to the fuinjutsu section.

It had four scroll-bound books stacked neatly:

* Book 1: *Uzumaki Basic Seals*

* Book 2: *Uzumaki Intermediate Seals*

* Book 3: *Uzumaki Advanced Seals*

* Book 4: *Uzumaki Master Seals*

My eyes lit up like a kid on his birthday. I grabbed the first book and went back to my room. There, I started reading right away.

It focused on fundamental chakra control, symbolic structures, and the meaning behind each seal. The Nine Kuji-in—the mudras—were especially emphasized. These hand signs were critical for forming sealing formulas. It was basic stuff for the Uzumaki, but even the basics had depth.

I breezed through the chakra control sections. That was already one of my strong suits. Then I moved on to learning how basic seals functioned—barrier tags, containment marks, chakra flow regulators. I lost track of time, completely immersed.

Meanwhile, at the Hokage's office...

Tsunade had just finished her discussion with Hiruzen about Konoha's current military state. Hiruzen was already leaning toward supporting the medic-nin initiative, but the council still needed convincing.

Then an ANBU arrived and informed them of Minato's return.

Tsunade immediately perked up. If Minato was back, that meant I had returned too. Hiruzen smiled as well—probably thinking about the Daimyo's gratitude. With how important that mission was, we could expect good funding.

Minato entered a moment later, greeting both Tsunade and the Hokage respectfully. Without delay, he began his report.

He described how the Rain ninja had kidnapped the Daimyo's son to stir conflict between the Sand and the Fire Nation. Their plan was elaborate—cross the border, get caught in Wind territory, and pin the blame. Turns out, Hanzo of the Salamander had accepted a secret deal with the Hidden Stone. In exchange for betraying the Fire Nation, they promised him protection during the next war.

Hiruzen's eyes narrowed. Tsunade's jaw tightened. That alone was enough to raise alarms.

Then Minato casually mentioned that Kakashi had killed both a jonin and a special jonin.

Tsunade raised a brow, impressed but not shocked. Hiruzen's surprise was more visible, but he managed to keep it calm. After all, Kakashi's been making waves lately.

Next, Minato mentioned that *he* had taken down three jonin and Kandachi—the Rain's elite jonin and Hanzo's right-hand man. Both Tsunade and Hiruzen nodded, not all that surprised. They knew what Minato was capable of.

Then came the bombshell.

Minato revealed I had killed two jonin and two special jonin—and captured another two special jonin for interrogation.

The Hokage blinked. "What?"

Tsunade's eyes widened slightly but quickly recovered. She knew I'd been holding back. She probably guessed I was saving my strength for the right moment.

Hiruzen, on the other hand, leaned forward. "Repeat that."

Minato calmly repeated himself. "Ren eliminated two jonin, two special jonin, and captured two more for interrogation."

Hiruzen leaned back in his chair, stunned. "I see…"

But Minato wasn't finished. "Also," he added, "Ren used Wood Release to defeat them."

And that… broke the Hokage.

The old man slumped back, pale-faced, eyes wide. His mouth opened, but no words came out.

Tsunade smirked. "Well, that's a surprise."

She casually summoned water and splashed it on Hiruzen's face.

He jerked back to life, coughing and staring between Minato and Tsunade. "Wood Release… you're serious?"

Minato nodded.

Tsunade grinned, clearly enjoying this. "I gave him a surprise test at the beginning of the mission. Looks like he returned the favor."

Hiruzen tried to regain his composure. "Summon Ren. I want to talk to him—immediately."

Minato raised a hand. "No need. I'll go get him."

Then minato created a shadow clone,

And with a yellow flash of light—The clone vanished.

Author's Note: 1 Million Views! 🎉

Thank you all so much for helping this fanfic reach 1 million views! I never imagined my very first novel would receive this much love and support. I'm truly grateful to each and every one of you who's read, commented, and supported this journey so far.

To celebrate this milestone, I've planned a second meeting between Ren and the God!

During this meeting, Ren will receive a Shinjutsu ability—the same origin-level power seen in Boruto, wielded by top-tier characters. For those unfamiliar, Shinjutsu is said to be the origin of all jutsu—ninjutsu, genjutsu, taijutsu, and everything else stems from it.

But don't worry—although this ability is powerful, I'll make sure it comes with conditions and develops gradually, evolving through stages instead of becoming instantly overpowered. Balance will be maintained. 😉

Let me know your thoughts on this in the comments below. Do you like the idea of Shinjutsu in the story? Should the God give it, or do you want something else? I'm always open to reader suggestions.

Once again, thank you for helping me reach this incredible milestone!
