A few days later, Uchiha Gen met with Owl, one of his hidden subordinates within Danzo's Root.
Stepping into the courtyard of his family estate, he smirked.
"Come on out," he called casually.
A moment later, Owl appeared from the shadows, immediately kneeling on one knee.
"Master Gen, I have returned," he reported solemnly.
"Good," Gen nodded approvingly. "Your strength has improved since last time. Keep working at it, and you'll break into the Kage-level soon enough."
Owl's eyes flashed with determination. "Yes, sir!"
Gen wasted no time. "What about Danzo's storage facility? Did you find the Hashirama Cells?"
Owl nodded. "Yes, Master Gen. Danzo's main headquarters is at its weakest right now—he moved most of his forces to the front lines. Only around twenty Root members remain inside."
He smirked slightly. "And five of them are already under your control."
Gen's smirk deepened. "Not bad... Then let's go all in. Since we're already infiltrating, let's take over all of them and wipe out Danzo's base completely."
Owl's eyes gleamed. "An excellent idea, Master! And if I may suggest, we should stage the attack to make it look like an ambush from Mist Shinobi."
Gen grinned. "I was thinking the same thing. But we'll need to be thorough—Danzo's paranoia runs deep. He'll investigate every detail."
The Plan
Gen and Owl carefully designed a fake scenario:
A team of Mist Shinobi "infiltrators" (who were actually under Gen's control) would storm the Root base.
They would "steal" classified documents and treasures.
Explosives would be set off, destroying the base.
Owl and two others would barely escape and report back to Danzo.
To make it believable, Gen used his Shadow Clone Avatar in Mist Village to manipulate a known Mist spy in Konoha, allowing them to "discover" the location of Root Headquarters.
Within a few hours, the spy "accidentally" leaked the information back to Mist Shinobi leadership—playing directly into Gen's hands.
With everything in motion, Owl gathered the remaining Root agents and placed them all under Gen's Enslavement Seal.
Breaking Into the Vault
Standing before Danzo's treasure vault, Owl gestured to the massive sealing barrier.
"This is it, Master Gen. But only Danzo knows how to unlock it."
Gen smirked. "That won't be a problem."
Activating Sharingan, he analyzed the countless layered seals protecting the vault.
"This old dog really went all out with his security... Too bad it's useless against me."
With a wave of his hand, Gen sent out streams of sealing script, bypassing the defensive barriers without triggering a single alarm.
A few moments later...
"Done."
Smirking, Gen teleported inside the vault.
The sight inside made him whistle.
"Damn, Danzo… hoarding all these treasures like a dragon."
The room was filled with rare jutsu scrolls, weapons, forbidden research, and medical documents.
But what caught his attention was a hidden chamber within the vault.
"Found it."
Using the same method, Gen bypassed the secondary seals and entered a small, hidden chamber.
Inside, he found a cylindrical glass container filled with nutrient fluid—suspending a large mass of living tissue.
"Hashirama's cells..."
The sheer life force radiating from the tissue was incredible.
"This is priceless," Gen murmured, carefully sealing it away with Flying Thunder God before transporting the entire treasure vault to his personal underground lab.
Finally, he found a huge reservoir of medical-grade nutrient fluid—worth hundreds of millions of Ryo.
"Might as well take everything."
Using Wood Release, Gen created dozens of storage containers and drained the entire reservoir before teleporting it all back to his lab.
Executing the "Attack"
Five days later...
A massive explosion shook Konoha's northern district as flames and smoke erupted into the sky.
Villagers panicked.
Anbu immediately rushed to investigate.
From the distance, Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi's expression darkened as he observed through his Telescope Jutsu.
"Danzo's base? Under attack?"
Suddenly, several Mist Shinobi operatives dashed out from the smoke—each carrying several massive scrolls.
"They're escaping with stolen intel!"
Sarutobi's face twisted in rage. "After them! We can't let them escape with Konoha's secrets!"
As he led his Anbu in pursuit, Owl and his "injured" Root agents limped out of the wreckage.
"Lord Hokage!" Owl gasped. "It was Mist Shinobi! They raided the base and stole our secrets!"
Sarutobi's expression darkened further.
"Danzo will be furious."
But what he didn't know was...
Danzo had lost far more than just documents.
He had lost his entire secret lab... and every one of his remaining Root agents had fallen under Uchiha Gen's control.
The first phase of Gen's plan was complete.
