Naruto: Uchiha Madara's Cousin

Chapter 140: 140. Movie Production

In Uchiha Tajima's office...

At this moment, the roles in the office were reversed. Uchiha Gin was sitting at Uchiha Tajima's desk, vigorously writing, while Uchiha Tajima, who should have been there, was lying comfortably on the long bench beneath.

"So, this is why you wanted me to do your work?"

Hearing Uchiha Tajima's story, Uchiha Gin lifted his head from the pile of documents. His lifeless, fish-like eyes were dull and worn down by life.

Looking at his uncle, who was resting with his eyes closed, Gin couldn't help but voice his complaint.

"Have some sympathy for your uncle. My vision is blurry, and Madara is in an emo phase, so the responsibility of handling clan affairs falls on the person I trust the most – you."

Tajima, appearing perfectly at ease, showed no guilt in making Uchiha Gin do the grunt work.

"I may not be educated, but don't try to fool me."

Gin rolled his eyes dramatically, then asked curiously, "By the way, how exactly did you escape?"

Although he suspected Tajima was exaggerating, the story still needed a proper ending. No one likes an unfinished tale, even if the plot is terrible.

"Escape? Watch your words. I left with dignity, under the awe-filled gazes of those two kids."

When Gin doubted his strength, Tajima leaped up from the bench, his bloodshot eyes wide open as he spoke with conviction.

Inside, though, he felt a hint of relief.

His Mangekyō Sharingan was on the verge of its limit back then.

Luckily, his Susanoo's shield technique had scared the two boys, allowing him to turn around and leave calmly, without them seeing the blood pouring from his eyes.

"Really?" Gin asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Absolutely. Do you doubt your uncle's strength?" Tajima defended himself, though inwardly, he was uncertain.

"Fine, let's say you won a round. Then what? The Konoha Usurpation Plan?"

"What plan?"

"Oh, nothing, just misspoke."

Gin laughed it off, but his mind was turning.

If his uncle really took down the future First and Second Hokages, wouldn't the Uchiha clan rise to dominate Konoha?

If they spun the story just right, his cousin Madara could take control of Konoha, and Gin would live the easy life, indulging in power.

"Heh heh."

Daydreaming about the bright future, Gin chuckled to himself.

"What are you laughing about?"

Tajima squinted at his nephew, wondering why he was acting strange.

"Oh, nothing. I'm professionally trained. I don't laugh… unless I can't help it."

Though his words were serious, Gin's mind was already filled with schemes.

"Ah, finally done!"

With a final flourish, Gin signed Tajima's name on a document titled "Application for Postpartum Care of Sows."

Relieved, he stretched and quickly stood, ready to escape from this bureaucratic nightmare.

"Done already? I'll call you next time!"

Surprised by Gin's efficiency, Tajima returned to his desk with a satisfied smile.

"If that's all, I'll be going now."

Gin was eager to leave before Tajima discovered the mischief he'd pulled in the paperwork.

"Wait."

Tajima's relaxed expression shifted to a serious one as he called out to Gin, who was about to leave.

"There's one more thing..."

Even though he had something to say, the words seemed hard to find.

"Just spit it out. Don't drag it out like squeezing toothpaste," Gin said, frustrated. "And hurry, even if you're the clan leader, you still have to respect labor laws."

"It's about Madara. Something's wrong."

Tajima sighed, his pale face showing concern.

"Huh? What could be wrong with him?"

Gin was confused.

Konoha hadn't even been founded yet, so why would Madara have issues already?

"Madara was defeated by a Senju boy. He's fallen into despair. If this continues, he may never grow beyond this point."

Tajima shook his head, worried.

He had high hopes for Madara as his successor, but if this continued, Madara would become a laughingstock within the clan.

"Heh, his resolve is shattered already?"

Gin rolled his eyes again, though he understood. After all, Hashirama's Wood Release was a whole level above, so it made sense Madara had no chance to fight back.

"Exactly. I need you to help him regain his confidence."

Tajima's piercing gaze made Gin uncomfortable. He quickly waved his hands in refusal.

"I'm no match for my cousin. How could I help him rise again?"

"No, you can."

Tajima handed Gin a book, which Gin accepted without thinking. As soon as he glanced at the title, his stomach sank.

"The Mangekyō Awakening Guide. Author: Uchiha Igaku."

What?! Even after all this time, I thought we were done with this guy.

"What's the meaning of this?" Gin asked, flipping through the thick guide. The main point of the book was clear in just two words: Sacrifice.

"The bond Madara shares with you is among the strongest in the clan, aside from his brother Izuna. Of course, there could be others hidden."

Tajima's words sent a shiver down Gin's spine.

Damn, is my uncle planning to sacrifice me to help my cousin awaken the Mangekyō?

"You raised Madara. Surely, you don't want him to become a failure, do you?"

Why does your tone sound so off?

"While I don't want my cousin to turn into a shut-in, I'm definitely not pure enough for this. Maybe let Izuna take over?"

Gin made a grand show of being moved but ultimately declined, reminding Tajima that his relationship with Madara was just casual.

Plus, in a past life, he had even flamed Madara in an online forum, which got heavily censored afterward.

"I have other plans for Izuna."

"What plans?"

"Izuna will need to watch. He might awaken his eyes too."

(Facepalm)

Gin stared at Tajima, wondering how his uncle had such a keen sense for maximizing resources.

"You're really good at managing resources, aren't you, Uncle?"

"Please, nephew, I'm counting on you!"

Tajima stood and bowed at a 90-degree angle, making Gin feel exasperated.

"It's not that I don't want to sacrifice for the family, but I…"

Gin began to express heartfelt emotions, focusing on the hardships above him, trying to appeal to his uncle's humanity.

However, Tajima acted like he didn't hear, even whistling nonchalantly.

"…and the children, they'll be devastated!"

Gin's emotional appeal turned into a comedic performance, but Tajima interrupted.

"Wait. I think there's been a misunderstanding."

Tajima quickly stopped Gin from wiping his nose on his new pants, clarifying, "I didn't mean for you to actually die. I just want you to stage a fake death to trigger Madara's awakening."

"Oh, that's a great idea!"

Gin immediately praised the plan, mentioning his award-winning acting skills from elementary school.

"And the script?"

Tajima, not well-versed in writing stories, admitted he had been stuck on this part for a while.

"This is too important to involve anyone else, so…"

"Hold it!"

Gin made a large "X" in front of his chest. "Wait, are you saying I have to write, direct, act, and do the special effects all by myself?"

"My nephew is so talented!"

Tajima smiled warmly, pretending to sympathize with Gin's frustration.

If you're not going to show me kindness, don't blame me for being ruthless, Gin thought.

"'Uchiha Muzan' coming soon! Stay tuned!"
