Naruto: The Tale of an Otsutsuki

Chapter 111: Chapter 111: Temporary Class Seven

In the Hokage Building's conference room, Tsunade sat casually on the sofa, eyeing the two Konoha elders—Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu—with thinly veiled impatience.

"So, what do you want now?" she asked bluntly.

"We're here to discuss Naruto," Homura began, his tone heavy with authority.

"Given that Naruto is Jinchuriki, we believe he should no longer participate in missions related to the Akatsuki organization. Instead, a four-member team should be formed around him to monitor and protect him at all times," Koharu added.

Tsunade's face hardened as she leaned forward. "No. Absolutely not."

The elders exchanged surprised glances before Homura pressed on. "Tsunade, Naruto isn't a child anymore. He can't be allowed to do whatever he pleases. If he's captured by the Akatsuki because of negligence, can you bear the consequences?"

Tsunade didn't flinch under their scrutiny. "Naruto isn't some fragile porcelain doll. He's the future of this village, and we cannot keep him locked away forever.

"Furthermore," she continued, "the recent attack on the Sand Village proves that even a Jinchuriki isn't safe in their own village. Gaara was ambushed despite being surrounded by his people. Keeping Naruto here would only make Konoha a target for the Akatsuki."

"And you're willing to gamble the entire village's safety on this belief?" Koharu retorted sharply.

Tsunade smiled coldly. "It's not a gamble. It's a bet I know I'll win. Naruto won't fail."

Memories of Naruto's determination and unshakable spirit flashed through her mind. The boy who had once bet everything to win her trust now carried the weight of her faith.

"Then who will ensure Naruto's safety on these missions?" Homura asked.

"I've already thought of someone," Tsunade replied with a knowing smile.

"Who?"

"Kirito."

The room fell silent for a moment as the elders processed her words.

"Are you insane?" Koharu finally exclaimed. "If you send Kirito out, who will protect Konoha? He's the village's greatest asset!"

"And isn't he also the best person to protect Naruto?" Tsunade countered. "Kirito has the strength and skill to handle any situation. Moreover, with his mastery of Wood Release, he can suppress the Nine-Tails if necessary."

Homura frowned deeply. "But Kirito is a member of the Third Division. He's never left his team, even after becoming an elite Jonin. How can you ensure his cooperation?"

"I'll handle that," Tsunade said firmly. "Besides, this is a temporary arrangement. Kirito will join Team Seven for missions involving Akatsuki, ensuring Naruto's safety. It's the best solution."

The elders exchanged uneasy glances. They had no choice but to concede that Kirito was the optimal choice.

"If Kirito and Naruto fail and bring disaster to Konoha, are you prepared to take responsibility?" Koharu demanded.

Tsunade's eyes flashed with resolve. "As Hokage, I will take full responsibility."

Realizing they had no grounds to argue further, the elders stood to leave. "Fine. But remember, this is only temporary. We will revisit the permanent structure of Team Seven later."

"Understood," Tsunade replied curtly, watching them leave.

Once the room was empty, Tsunade leaned back with a sigh. She knew this wouldn't be the end of their interference. The elders had been trying to influence the structure of Team Seven for a while now, likely hoping to insert someone of their choosing.

But for now, Kirito was the perfect safeguard.

"Shizune," Tsunade called, turning to her assistant.

"Yes, Lady Tsunade?"

"Inform the Torture and Interrogation Department to expedite their work. And send for Kirito—I need to speak with him."

"Right away," Shizune replied, hurrying out of the room.
