Chapter 230: Chapter 230: The Blade Revealed

Before the Water Gate, Madara Uchiha spoke with a sly smile:

"Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage of Konoha, also known as the Yellow Flash, correct?"

Minato raised an eyebrow in surprise. "We've never met before. How do you know me?"

Madara chuckled. "Back when I was trying to recruit Obito, I specifically had White Zetsu gather information about you. If I recall correctly, you were still alive then. But now, you're here as an Edo Tensei summon. It seems you died not long after that. Such a shame—you were too young, and it seems you didn't even get to outplay your own student."

Minato's eyes narrowed. "So, it was you. You were the mastermind behind manipulating Obito to attack Konoha."

Although Madara already knew the truth about the Infinite Tsukuyomi, he still exuded an air of dominance.

"Hmph. Some lives exist merely to add a splash of color to others' eyes. Yellow Flash, will you manage to dazzle me?"

"I'll do my best," Minato replied calmly, "but I can't guarantee I'll meet your expectations!"

Sizzle! Orange markings appeared around Minato's eyes, and his pupils shifted into horizontal toad-like slits.

He thought to himself, Thanks to this Edo Tensei body, I've gotten a bit more proficient with Sage Mode.

Swish!

Minato threw a Flying Thunder God kunai and quickly formed hand seals.

"Sage Art: Flying Thunder God Kunai Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

The kunai multiplied into thousands, scattering across the battlefield!

With a dramatic flourish of his cloak, Minato charged forward like a streak of light.

"Konan, I'll take the lead. You handle the support!"

Konan raised her hand gently. "Understood."

"Shikigami Dance!"

Rustle! Countless sheets of paper split apart, forming sharp spears that rained down from above!

Swish! Madara dodged with the Body Flicker Technique, but the paper spears adjusted their trajectory mid-air, persistently targeting him.

Looking up at the sky, Madara mused, Oh? So that's the paper woman Obito was wary of. An intriguing ability. Hmph, let me light things up for you!

Swish! While moving at high speed, Madara formed hand seals, preparing to unleash a fiery jutsu at the sky.

But just then, Minato emerged from a nearby Flying Thunder God kunai.

"I won't let you succeed!"

"Sage Art: Rasengan!"

However, Madara's lips curled into a cunning smirk.

"Naive. I anticipated you'd strike while I was forming seals. But my target was always you, Minato."

Swish!

In the instant their blades clashed, Madara adjusted the direction of his jutsu.

"Fire Style: Majestic Destroyer Flame!"

The fiery explosion erupted point-blank. No shinobi could possibly react in time—except for Minato Namikaze.

Whoosh!

At the very moment the heatwave surged toward him, Minato teleported away.

"Hm? Such reflexes..."

Madara, momentarily surprised, redirected his flames.

The fire roared like serpents, engulfing a hundred meters in an inferno. The scattered Flying Thunder God kunai in the area were all incinerated.

"This should be a safe zone now," Madara muttered, lifting his gaze to the sky.

By this time, Konan's paper clones had filled the air.

"Hmph."

With a cold snort, Madara summoned the skeletal frame of his Susano'o. Drawing a string of magatama beads, he hurled them skyward. At the same time, he enhanced his attack with another fire jutsu.

"Fire Style: Phoenix Sage Flower Claw Crimson!"

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! The fiery magatama lit up the night sky, creating a dazzling yet destructive display.

Though Konan's paper clones were numerous, they couldn't withstand such concentrated firepower. One by one, they were struck, exploding into bursts of flame.

Amidst the fiery chaos, Konan's true body weaved through the destruction.

Madara locked onto her with his Sharingan. From the Susano'o's hand, he formed three magatama into a spinning wheel, coating it in flames before hurling it skyward.

"Fire Style: Yata Flame Wheel!"

The wheel spun rapidly, its fiery edges slicing through the air like blades.

With no way to evade, Konan stacked layers of paper to form a barrier. But the Yata Flame Wheel tore through her defenses effortlessly.

At the critical moment, a Flying Thunder God kunai appeared in front of Konan. Minato teleported in, rescuing her just in time.

Whoosh!

Back on the ground, Minato let out a breath of relief. "Phew, that was close. Good thing I made it in time. Konan, to make support easier, I've placed a Flying Thunder God mark on your shoulder."

Konan glanced at her shoulder.

Minato smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, the mark is on your clothing. I know girls care about appearances, so I paid attention to that detail."

Konan nodded. For someone as exceptional as Minato, there was nothing to criticize.

Madara, arms crossed and feet tapping rhythmically, gazed at Minato with a faintly nostalgic expression.

"Minato... I remember now. During the Warring States period, the Uchiha and Senju clans joined forces to hunt down the priestess of the Hagoromo Clan. But she was rescued by a man named Namikaze Ronsho. After that, they vanished without a trace. Later, when Konoha was founded, the Namikaze clan suddenly emerged. Minato, you must be Ronsho's descendant."

Minato replied, "I grew up an orphan. I don't know much about my family's history."

Madara murmured, "Hmph. Ronsho wasn't the issue. The problem was the woman he saved—the Hagoromo Clan. During the Warring States period, they were a noble clan on par with the Senju and Uchiha. If not for their dwindling numbers, they wouldn't have faded from history so soon."

Boom!

The battle raged on.

In the distance, Naruto Uzumaki and Obito Uchiha continued their prolonged clash of fists.

Obito, shaken, opened his eyes wide. "So... this is the future."

Naruto spoke earnestly, "This is why I chose a path completely different from the one before. I want to defeat those guys. For that, I need strength—and comrades. Not comrades who stand behind me for protection, but reliable allies who can endure the same trials alongside me!"

Obito's voice softened. "That's the real reason I've been holding back against you. Because I know you can be saved. And you have incredible potential. Your achievements will surpass anyone's. That's why I chose you."

Naruto nodded. "And Madara too, right?"

Obito glanced at the distant figure of Madara. "Yes."

"I see." Obito's tone grew contemplative. "I thought your actions after Nagato's death were beyond my expectations because you'd been hiding your true self all along—even your Hokage dream was just a facade. I assumed you spared me because you feared the Gedo Statue in my possession. But now I see... I was being narrow-minded."

Naruto asked, "So, will you assist me?"

Obito replied, "After all this, refusing would be ungrateful. Whether it's atonement for my past sins or closure for Rin, I have no reason to say no."

Naruto smiled in relief. "Thank you for trusting me, Obito."

Obito, with a newfound resolve, responded, "No, Naruto. I should be the one thanking you—for your unwavering determination to guide me onto the right path."

Naruto helped Obito to his feet.

Obito said, "Now, we just have to wait for Tobirama to return."

Naruto's gaze sharpened. "Actually, I have a strange feeling... I hope it's just a hunch."

Whoosh!

The vortex of Kamui swirled.

Naruto, Obito, and Madara all turned their attention to the scene.

Tobirama Senju appeared—but his entire body had turned pitch black.

Obito exclaimed, "What's going on!?"

Naruto remained calm. "So, it's come to this."

Madara's Sharingan flared with rage. "This feeling... Black Zetsu!"

Black Zetsu grinned wickedly. "Heh heh heh, it's only been a short while, and things have already gotten so lively. Obito, you're as useless as ever. And Madara, you're nothing but a fool."
