Chapter 219: Chapter 219: The Immortal River

Under the cover of a dark and windy night, Naruto Uzumaki advanced toward the battlefield. Straddling the Red Gourd beneath him, carrying the Banana Palm Fan on his back, and with the Seven Star Sword sheathed at his waist, he was ready for battle. The Kohaku no Jōhei (Amber Purifying Pot), being too cumbersome to carry, floated behind him, its large frame swaying gently in the air.

"Hey ho, hey ho!" The Amber Purifying Pot chuckled cheerfully as it floated along.

"Is it heavy? Should I get off and walk myself?" asked Konan, her smoky, dark brows slightly furrowed as she sat perched on the pot's lid.

"Not heavy at all, not even a little bit! You're as light as a feather!" The Amber Purifying Pot replied, its large, animated eyes following the sway of Konan's legs as they dangled before it.

"Is that so?" Konan mused softly. "Actually, I like it when there's a bit of bumpiness."

"Bumpiness? Like this?" The Amber Purifying Pot adjusted its flight, rising and falling in a gentle undulation.

"Yes, that's exactly it," Konan said with a hint of satisfaction.

At that moment, the pot's white hemp rope, which had morphed into a pair of small hands, wrapped around Konan's waist. "Heh heh, this way you won't fall off!" it said with a goofy laugh.

"Such a dependable child," Konan praised.

Two rosy blushes appeared on the cheeks of the Amber Purifying Pot.

Meanwhile, Naruto, seated atop the Red Gourd, was taking a brief nap. His nose bubbled with each breath, a sign of his exhaustion after days without proper rest. The looming battle demanded every ounce of his strength.

Suddenly, there was a zhiii sound as the Seven Star Sword at Naruto's waist opened its sharp, narrow eyes. Despite lacking a mouth, the sentient sword could still speak.

"How annoying. That dumb, featureless pot—why is it so well-liked by everyone?" it grumbled.

From within the Red Gourd, a resonant voice echoed, "Annoying, indeed. It's hogging all the attention."

The Seven Star Sword retorted, "Attention? What kind of attention? Aren't we all just being ridden on?"

The Red Gourd fell silent for a moment. "Forget I said anything."

"Ridiculous," scoffed the Seven Star Sword. "In any case, let's ostracize it. We'll bully that pot together."

"You shouldn't do that, Little Seven. We're all Father's children; we should stick together," interjected the Banana Palm Fan from Naruto's back.

The Banana Palm Fan's red-and-white patterned surface bore a face resembling that of Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage. Its eyes and nose were situated in the white section, while the red area below, near the handle, formed a mouth. The overall appearance evoked the image of an Indian warrior, with the upper red section resembling a feathered headdress and the lower red section akin to war paint.

High above the battlefield, four Hokage soared side by side on their Flying Nimbus Clouds, engaging in a lively conversation.

"So, you're Naruto's father?" Tobirama Senju asked incredulously after hearing Minato Namikaze reveal the truth about his death.

"Then why doesn't Naruto recognize you? Didn't anyone tell him?" Hashirama and Tobirama both turned their accusatory gazes toward Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage.

"Why didn't you tell Naruto that his father was the Fourth Hokage? And is it true, as Orochimaru whispered to me, that Naruto was bullied relentlessly as a child?" Tobirama pressed.

Hiruzen lowered his head in shame. "It's true. I feel deeply guilty about it."

"Don't blame the Third," Minato interjected. "It was my decision to keep it a secret. Changing Naruto's surname to Uzumaki was meant to protect him from my enemies."

"And did it work?" Tobirama asked skeptically.

Hiruzen shook his head. "It only hid the truth from the villagers and lower-ranking ninjas. The high-ranking officials of other villages all knew Naruto was your son."

"Unbelievable! What were you even doing?" Tobirama snapped.

Hiruzen sighed. "It was Danzo. He had ROOT leak Naruto's information to incite other villages to target him, hoping to use my failure to secure the Hokage position for himself."

"Hmph, typical Danzo behavior," Hashirama remarked, stroking his chin. "Tobirama, this is partly your fault for not setting a better example for your student."

Tobirama, sitting cross-legged with his chin in his hand, shot back, "Big Brother, you can't pin this on me. Danzo's lack of integrity is his own failing. I used open tactics; he resorts to underhanded schemes. And, honestly, Monkey here was too weak to rein him in."

"I admit my failure," Hiruzen said somberly. "I let both of you down."

Tobirama sighed. "Forget it. It's my fault for dying too soon, leaving the village's burden entirely on your young shoulders. But the way Naruto was treated—it's unacceptable. A Hokage's son, a hero's child, forced to hide his identity and endure scorn? What kind of dark era is this?"

"We fought tooth and nail to end the wars, to build villages where children could have carefree childhoods while learning skills to secure their futures. And yet, here we are—with a boy stronger than any Hokage, who doesn't even know his own father. What kind of nonsense is this?"

Minato interjected, "Actually, I think Naruto does know me."

"???" Hashirama and Tobirama looked at him in confusion.

"I built the Four Symbols Seal so that if Naruto ever accessed the Ninth Tail's eighth tail, he would meet me. Given how much he's grown, we must have met by now."

"Then why—?" Tobirama began, only to be interrupted by Hiruzen's theory: "Maybe Naruto resents you for making him a Jinchuriki. After all the suffering he's endured, it's possible he blames you deep down."

Minato looked pained. "Could that be true?"

"No," Hashirama said firmly. "Naruto isn't the kind of child to harbor such narrow-minded grievances. I believe he's simply focused on preparing for the battle ahead and hasn't had time for a father-son reunion."

Tobirama scoffed. "Big Brother, you're overthinking it. No one is too busy to acknowledge their own father."

Hashirama pondered. "Well, maybe Naruto plans to summon him through Edo Tensei later and live together long-term. If that's the case, why waste excitement on a brief meeting now?"

Tobirama rolled his eyes. "What does this have to do with me not having kids?"

"I just feel like Naruto has already been a husband and a father in some way. He knows the hardships of fatherhood and is giving his father a taste of it," Hashirama mused.

"What kind of logic is that?" Tobirama asked, exasperated.

"Perhaps there's no logic at all," Hashirama said with a shrug. "It's just the dark humor that exists between fathers and sons."

"Ridiculous," Tobirama muttered, shaking his head.

Half an hour later, the Flying Nimbus Clouds reached the skies above the Immortal River in the northwest of the Land of Rain.

With a flutter of paper, Konan's form materialized in the air.

"What an interesting jutsu," Tobirama remarked. "Are you Naruto's woman? You're even wearing matching outfits."

"His wife?" Minato perked up.

Konan shook her head lightly. "Not yet." (Not yet doesn't mean never, so don't overthink it, nitpickers.)

"A shame," Tobirama teased. "If you were, I'd have taught you my Tandem Explosive Tags."

"So you're the infamous ancestor with questionable character," Konan murmured.

"What was that?" Tobirama asked, not catching her words.

"Nothing," Konan replied coolly. "And I don't need it. Naruto already taught me Tandem Explosive Tags."

"???" Tobirama was stunned.

"Here he comes!" Hashirama's sharp gaze locked onto the ground below.

The Kage all turned their eyes downward.

Whoosh!

A Kamui vortex twisted space and time.

At the Immortal River, Obito Uchiha appeared.

Naruto's eyes sharpened. Without a word, he wielded the Banana Palm Fan and unleashed its power:

One swing—Wood Release: Forest Creation!

Another swing—Earth Release: Shattering Stone!

A third—Fire Release: Raging Inferno!

A fourth—Wind Release: Whirling Tempest!

Four Elements Combined: Wind, Forest, Fire, Mountain!

BOOM!

The Immortal River transformed into a hellish inferno.

"Such chaos. But it's useless against me," Obito said calmly as he emerged unscathed, his Edo Tensei body phasing through all attacks.

From above, the Kage observed.

"He has no shadow!" Hashirama noted.

"A secret Uzumaki shadow seal?" Tobirama speculated.

"Neither ninjutsu nor physical attacks can touch him. It's as if everything passes through his body," Hiruzen remarked.

"It really is Obito," Minato said grimly.

Suddenly, at the center of the battlefield, a massive Kamui vortex erupted, swallowing everything into singularity—a single eye.

From that eye emerged a man whose face was perfectly split into black and white, with long black hair flowing behind him. His handsome features mirrored Hashirama's, but his aura was one of pure malevolence.

"My name is Tsuchima Senju. Pleased to meet you."
