Chapter 9: Chapter 9: The Big Conflict at the Academy; Rather Than Wait for You to Act, I’ll Strike First
Early in the morning.
The sky had just begun to brighten when Ryun was already up and finished with his morning routine.
With his powerful mental energy, he only needed five or six hours of sleep to feel fully refreshed. This discovery surprised him, and it seemed to be the only "cheat" he had gained from crossing worlds and possessing this body.
After quietly opening the door, Ryun began his new day of physical training.
"Let's start with a morning run... I need to fix my endurance problem."
He ran about a quarter of the way around Konoha Village before the sky fully brightened.
When he could no longer run, Ryun slowly walked back home.
By the time he returned, Asuka had already prepared breakfast. After finishing his milk and bread, Ryun grabbed his bag and headed to the Ninja Academy.
"Why has Ryun suddenly become so motivated?" Asuka muttered to herself, watching his retreating figure with confusion.
It wasn't just his motivation—many of his habits had changed too. His clothing style, his tendency to sleep in, even small things that she used to nag him about—he now did them without prompting.
Fortunately, all these changes were for the better, so Asuka didn't have to worry.
When Ryun arrived at the Ninja Academy, before he could even reach his classroom, a group of students blocked his way.
"Hey, isn't this the little half-breed? Why aren't you wearing your headband today?"
Ryun didn't answer. Instead, he calmly studied the group of students in front of him.
These kids had black eyes and hair, with the Uchiha clan's fan emblem on their backs. They were a year older than him, currently in their sixth year.
"Hey, I'm talking to you!"
When Ryun remained silent, one of them reached out to mess with his hair.
Ryun reacted first, gripping the boy's wrist firmly.
"Talk if you want, but keep your hands to yourself."
His tone was cold, and though his words weren't harsh, they made the other boy furious.
"Oh, you've got some nerve now, huh?"
"You've grown a temper after just a few days, you little half-breed?"
Uchiha Kazuyo sneered, his expression full of malice.
"Looks like it's time to teach you a lesson."
"Come on, Kazuyo, we're all from the same clan. Don't make a scene..." Another Uchiha boy tried to mediate.
The commotion had already drawn a crowd of onlookers, many of them eager to see a fight—especially members of the Hyūga clan, the Uchiha's longtime rivals.
This usually meek "nobody" had dared to "fight back" today, and from start to finish, he wore a cold expression that Kazuyo found particularly irritating.
"Tch, I'll let you off today. But don't let me catch you outside the academy, you little bastard..."
Kazuyo spat out a threat and turned to leave. As much as he disliked Ryun, he didn't want to be the center of a spectacle.
"Did I say you could leave?"
Before Kazuyo could walk away, Ryun's voice stopped him cold.
Being called "half-breed" was one thing, but "little bastard" was something he couldn't ignore.
"Hah? What else do you—"
Kazuyo didn't get to finish his sentence before Ryun's palm slammed into his face with brutal force.
His entire arm was coated in chakra, making the strike impossibly fast. Kazuyo didn't even have time to react before he was sent flying.
Two white teeth flew out with a spray of blood as he crashed to the ground in an undignified heap.
"!!!"
"!!!!!"
Everyone stared in shock. No one could believe that the "soft, timid" little half-breed had actually hit someone—and not just anyone, but a fellow Uchiha!
And he had hit him hard...
"Rather than wait for you to come after me, I'll deal with you now."
Since they were already enemies, backing down wouldn't stop them from targeting him later. And why should he back down anyway?
The kind get bullied, the tame get ridden. Endless tolerance only invites worse abuse.
As he spoke, Ryun strode forward. Before Kazuyo could even process what had happened, a foot slammed into his face.
Blood gushed from his nose instantly.
It wasn't that Ryun was being cruel—no other kid had ever called him a "little bastard" before, yet this guy had done so without hesitation. And he was supposed to be from the same clan.
This was exactly why Asuka had taken him away from the Uchiha district.
Given the nature of ninja school kids, if Ryun didn't beat Kazuyo down hard today, tomorrow someone else would feel bold enough to call him "little bastard" too.
"Bastard, stop right there!"
Before Ryun could press the attack, two Uchiha boys rushed forward to block him.
One of them lashed out with a kick, forcing Ryun back.
Brushing off his sleeve where the kick had landed, Ryun's expression remained calm.
Channeling chakra into his arms made them stronger and more resistant to damage. The kick might have looked powerful, but it didn't hurt at all.
This was one of the benefits of learning chakra control. After a single night of practice, he had already managed to stick to walls—a basic but crucial skill.
His progress was so fast precisely because of his overwhelming mental energy.
Controlling chakra flow required strong mental focus, and with his fused dual souls, his spiritual power was already immense. Add the three-tomoe Sharingan to the mix, and his mental energy was downright monstrous.
Being able to manipulate his chakra even at a basic level gave him a huge advantage.
With just this one skill, he could already dominate every kid here.
"Damn it, Ryun! We're from the same clan! How could you hit him so hard?" Uchiha Senya shouted angrily.
"Why don't you ask why he cursed at me so harshly? Did you think I had no temper? That I'd just let people insult me?"
He had been bullied plenty before—the nickname "half-breed" had been spread by these very clanmates.
In a school full of kids with all sorts of hair colors, who wasn't a "half-breed"? Yet they singled him out.
"If he really saw me as a fellow clansman, he wouldn't have insulted me like that."
"He wanted to teach me a lesson, so I'll teach him one first."
"If anyone dares to disrespect me like this again, don't blame me for being rough."
With that, Ryun ignored the stunned crowd, shoved his hands in his pockets, and walked straight to his classroom.
"Wait, is this really the same half-breed we knew? Since when did he grow a spine?"
"That guy's forehead is huge, and he's got such a girly face, but he hits like a beast?" The onlookers buzzed with chatter.
"What's wrong with a big forehead? And how is that face girly? He's just good-looking! And that attitude... damn, that's manly!"
Some of the girls were already swooning.
"Hah! The Uchiha dogs are biting each other. How entertaining..." A Hyūga kid sneered.
Many of the major clan heirs smirked at the remark.
"Ugh... I'll kill him..."
Kazuyo finally regained his senses, tears streaming down his face as he struggled to get up and charge at Ryun.
"Hey, hey, Kazuyo, don't be rash. Class is about to start. The teacher will be here soon. Just hold on—you can get revenge after first period..."
One of his friends tried to calm him down.
"We should report this to the teacher. You're hurt—you need to go to the infirmary," Senya suggested.
"No! If I report it, how can I get payback? Just say I fell..." Kazuyo spat out another mouthful of blood, his face twisted in rage.
"If I don't knock out every single one of his teeth later, I'm not an Uchiha!"
Kazuyo was convinced he had only lost because he wasn't ready.
If they really fought, Ryun would be no match for him. He had beaten Ryun up before, and this time, he had backup.
