Shiki couldn't help but tease Hinata when he saw her flustered expression.
"Huh?"
Hinata had never expected such a question from him and immediately panicked.
"No...it's...that..."
In the end, she gave up, lowering her head with visible steam rising from it. Her mind was clearly overloaded.
Shiki smiled even wider.
"Steam Girl is so fun."
"Take a rest, I'll walk you back." Shiki said as he saw she was already too overwhelmed to respond, not wanting to push her further.
Hinata, dazed, barely understood what he was saying. It took her about ten minutes to calm down.
"Let's go." Shiki said, standing up.
Hinata put down her cup and followed him closely. As they left the courtyard, Shiki heard a heated conversation.
"Sasuke! Move it!" Naruto shouted energetically, "Are you done already?"
"Shut up!" Sasuke snapped, clearly irritated.
Shiki turned to look at the two.
Naruto was running backward, constantly glancing at Sasuke, trying to cheer him on. Sasuke, on the other hand, was drenched in sweat, sitting on the ground to catch his breath.
Apparently, people's physical stamina couldn't always be compared. Sasuke was exhausted, glaring at Naruto in confusion.
"You were supposed to be the weakest... how do you still have so much energy?"
Shiki didn't interrupt them and continued walking with Hinata.
Soon, the large mansion of the Hyuga clan came into view.
"Um... Shiki-kun." Hinata gathered her courage and asked softly, "Would you like to come to my house for dinner?"
She felt a bit of regret right after asking. Now that her big appetite had been revealed, she could eat freely at home without Shiki needing to feed her anymore.
"Next time." Shiki smiled, reaching out to ruffle her hair gently before giving her a slight nudge, "See you tomorrow."
Before Hinata could respond, Shiki had already walked away.
She watched his back and subconsciously bit her lip.
Shiki made his way back to the Senju residence. After sparring with Hinata, he realized that his progress in physical combat was still too slow. He needed to improve his taijutsu, at least the basics, and work on his combat experience.
While he could easily defeat Neji with his insects and superior strength, he worried that he might accidentally go too far and seriously injure him.
The thought of training with someone came to his mind—Tsunade.
He couldn't see himself learning from someone like Guy. The green tights and "youthful energy" were just not his style.
"Teacher, I want to improve my taijutsu." Shiki said as he found Tsunade lounging on the sofa.
"Taijutsu?" Tsunade glanced him over and asked, "Can you handle it?"
"Just the basics." Shiki clarified.
He didn't need to master advanced techniques. With his abilities, he only needed to grasp the essentials to improve his overall combat ability.
"Fine. After dinner, I'll teach you." Tsunade said with a grin, raising a finger, "But you'll owe me an extra bottle of honey wine every day."
"No." Shiki refused, "You already promised to teach me before. No changing the terms now."
When dealing with Tsunade, it was important to stand firm, or she'd keep pushing for more.
"Alright!" Tsunade grumbled, her voice tightening, "Just wait till tonight!"
Shiki shuddered.
Uh-oh. Private lessons with Tsunade might turn into something far more brutal than expected.
At that moment, the door opened, and Shizune walked in.
Shiki raised an eyebrow slightly. She was wearing a white nurse's uniform today, giving off a gentle, caring older-sister vibe.
"Sister Shizune." Shiki greeted politely.
"Go cook." Tsunade ordered with a smile that looked all too threatening, "Afterward, I have to teach Shiki taijutsu."
Despite her pleasant tone, Shiki could sense a looming danger.
Shizune, unaware of the silent exchange, turned toward the kitchen. But at the doorway, she paused, remembering that she was still in her nurse's uniform. She slipped it off, revealing a tight vest underneath that showed off her toned midriff. Casually, she threw on an apron and started preparing dinner.
An hour later, outside the training cabin…
"There's not much to teach when it comes to basic taijutsu." Tsunade said lazily, "Just learn through experience during battle."
Shiki nodded. That was exactly what he needed.
"Let's start." Tsunade stepped forward and suddenly aimed a foot directly at him.
Shiki dodged awkwardly, eyeing her heeled sandals. One wrong move, and those things would hurt for days.
"Good." Tsunade said, even though she wasn't using her full strength. The fact that Shiki could react so quickly showed he was ahead of his peers.
But she wasn't about to let him off the hook. After all, he had dared to stop her from drinking earlier.
"Teacher." Shiki suggested nervously, "Could you… take off your shoes?"
"What? Scared?" Tsunade smirked, enjoying the moment.
"Weren't you so cocky just a moment ago?"
---
Shiki leaned back as Tsunade's right foot brushed past him.
He noticed her bare feet were already dirtied from the training ground.
Though she teased him, she was surprisingly honest, taking off her shoes as requested. Without the heels, the threat seemed less, but Tsunade became even bolder.
Before Shiki could recover, her red-painted toes flew toward his chest, backed by a strong wind. He blocked the strike with his arm, but the force left his elbow numb and tingling.
Not missing a beat, Tsunade stepped on his arm, launched herself into the air, and brought her left leg down, striking his shoulder with her calf.
Shiki was knocked off balance, falling backward.
"Are you okay?" Tsunade stopped her attack, walking over and looking down at him with concern.
