Chapter 139: Special Rules

Did it really only take two days?

You've got to be kidding!

Others might not know how severe Might Duy's injuries were, but as a member of the Nara Clan, Koshino certainly did. 

Perhaps, as a Nara, Koshino was somewhat lacking because, aside from mastering the clan's secret techniques, his medical ninjutsu skills were even inferior to an average Nara clan member.

Apart from knowing a bit about pharmacology from the Nara Clan's secret scrolls and some basic first aid methods learned at the Konoha medical camp, Koshino was a complete novice in medical ninjutsu.

Yet, even with that limited knowledge, Koshino's understanding of medical ninjutsu far surpassed that of Guy, Genma Shiranui, and Ebisu.

So, when Might Duy appeared before Koshino, covered in blood after being harassed by the Uchiha and Hyuga Clans, Koshino knew it would take at least a month for Duy to recover from his injuries. 

After all, the Uchiha and Hyuga Clans showed no mercy when they gave Duy a hard time!

But who could have imagined that Might Duy would recover from such severe injuries in just two short days?

Except for a few places still wrapped in bandages, the serious wounds had all scabbed over, and the minor injuries, along with the bruises, had completely disappeared.

In that moment, watching Might Duy giving a lecture, Koshino felt a sense of disbelief.

Looking at the vibrant Might Duy, Koshino felt that this legendary Genin, the creator of the forbidden Eight Gates, was the true indestructible cockroach!

An unkillable cockroach!

"It's simply... simply a miracle!"

"In the original storyline, Uzumaki Naruto had the terrifying constitution of the Uzumaki Clan, which allowed him to recover from injuries far faster than normal people!"

"But Might Duy?"

"Who would believe he's from the Uzumaki Clan?"

"Yet, recovering from injuries in just two days, a feat that would take others half a month, there's no other way to describe Duy's terrifying recovery ability other than calling him an indestructible cockroach!"

With a silent sigh, Koshino deeply exhaled and looked at Might Duy with eyes full of envy.

However, envy was just envy.

After a moment of reflection, Koshino quickly approached Might Duy and said, "Captain Duy, I'm here!"

"Oh! It's Koshino!"

"You're early! This is youth!"

Indeed, Might Duy was like an upgraded version of Guy. From their first real interaction, Koshino understood what true enthusiasm was.

In front of Koshino and the others, Might Duy didn't mention the Uchiha and Hyuga Clans, likely because Guy, Genma Shiranui, and Ebisu had already explained the situation to him.

After a speech full of youthful and passionate rhetoric to boost the team's morale, Might Duy praised Koshino and the others for their performance yesterday, 

finally waking up the drowsy Koshino, Genma Shiranui, and Ebisu.

But just when the team, including Koshino, thought today's mission was to clear out the remnants of the Mist Ninja's first line of defense, Might Duy, 

who had regained command of the team, announced that today's task was to transport supplies!

"Captain Duy, are you sure? Our mission is to transport supplies?"

"Genma's right, Captain Duy, you must be mistaken! We performed so well yesterday, we're practically the village's elite team. How could Lord Shikaku assign us a supply transport mission?"

"Transporting supplies? Is Lord Shikaku trying to remind us not to get complacent over a little success? Ah! This is youth!"

Within the team, Genma Shiranui and Ebisu looked on in shock, while only Guy, influenced by Might Duy, continued to chant the mantra of youthful passion.

But, not to mention Genma Shiranui and Ebisu, even Koshino was completely stunned when he heard about the mission from Might Duy.

Apparently, even Koshino hadn't expected that a mission like transporting supplies would fall on his shoulders!

At this moment, is there really war supplies that need to be moved in the Konoha camp?

The answer is yes, and the quantity is quite large!

In yesterday's battle, Konoha's side had breached the first line of defense outside the Mist Ninja's main camp. It was precisely the time to properly reconstruct the original Mist Ninja's first line of defense. 

Therefore, the task of transferring supplies within the Konoha camp became extremely important. 

After all, Konoha's ninjas needed to gradually move the war supplies into the original Mist Ninja's first line of defense!

But just like Genma Shiranui and Ebisu said, they had earned the title of "elite" in yesterday's battle. How could a task like transporting supplies fall on them?

even assigning other tasks to Koshino and his team would be more fitting for their "elite" squad title, showing that the camp valued Koshino's team!

Unfortunately, despite shedding the label of "incompetent," Koshino's team's status in the camp hadn't changed at all.

Especially Might Duy, who didn't feel there was anything wrong with the transportation task.

Then, with Genma Shiranui and Ebisu both wearing bitter expressions, Koshino remained outwardly silent but inwardly uncomfortable, following the enthusiastic Might Duy and Guy to prepare for the transportation task. 

But upon reaching the storage area for Konoha's war supplies and seeing the surrounding Konoha ninjas pointing and whispering, Koshino, still wearing his Anbu attire and mask, suddenly became the center of attention. 

A glint flashed in Koshino's eyes as he thought to himself:

"Something's not right!"

"If Uncle Shikaku really assigned us the transportation task, how could others have this attitude? They should be gloating!"

"But in their eyes, I clearly see confusion and surprise!"

"Could it be that Uncle Shikaku didn't assign us the transportation task, and it was Might Duy who took it upon himself to accept it and brought us along?"

Suspecting that this might be the case, Koshino's curious gaze fell on Might Duy.

Clearly, Koshino was curious about what Might Duy meant by taking on the transportation task. 

Was it to ease the burden of transferring supplies for Konoha, or did he have another purpose?

While Koshino was silently pondering Might Duy's intentions, Might Duy indeed approached Koshino, Guy, and the others. Before executing the rather "low-level" transportation task, he instructed them:

"Koshino, Guy, Genma, Ebisu."

"Never underestimate a task like transferring supplies. After all, supplies are the foundation for us ninjas to fight."

"Moreover, in my view, transferring and transporting supplies is also a form of training!"

"So before we start the task, let me set a special rule for you!"

With that, Might Duy raised three fingers towards Koshino and the others, smiling as he said:

"First, during the task, you are not allowed to use chakra!"

"Second, every time you transport supplies, you must carry them personally!"

"And third, every time you transport supplies, it must be at least three boxes!"

"Yosh! Let's start the task now! We must transport more supplies than any other team; this is our youth!"

With that, Might Duy took the lead, carrying five boxes of war supplies, and quickly disappeared from Koshino and the others' sight.

Koshino, who had remained silent, listened to Might Duy's special rules and couldn't help but ponder deeply!

"Special rules? Transporting supplies?"

"Might Duy's hidden meaning..."
