Chapter 396: Chapter 393 : Journey!!

Caesar was running for his life, carrying the heavily injured Jiude Mai on his back.

He could swear to God that he'd never run so fast in his life, even wishing he had two more legs!

Whoosh—!

A sharp sound of something tearing through the air echoed like thunder across the sky.

The flying weasel, circling around, brought back the information. Caesar, almost instinctively, slammed his foot into the ground, using the huge recoil force to slide sideways several meters.

A flash of cold light, faster than the eye could follow, grazed his cheek, narrowly missing.

Then, on the smooth ground, a clear and precise line appeared, as though something extremely sharp had cut through it.

Beads of sweat, as fine as yellow beans, slowly trickled down Caesar's temples, gathering at his jaw before finally dripping to the ground.

So close... That was close!

If he had been even half a second slower, or if there had been any mistake in his movement, his head would have already rolled off.

Caesar turned his head, looking into the chaos of smoke and dust, his gaze locking onto the figure in yellow robes. It looked as if he had trouble swallowing.

The person in the yellow robes, with a pale mask on his face, slowly raised his tattered sleeve, extending his slender white wrist. His long fingers gently formed a light grip in the air.

Caesar could clearly feel an inviolable sacred field expanding around that person.

The weasels flying in the air seemed to notice the terrifying presence before their master did. They shrieked in a panicked warning.

In the next moment, the space within several dozen meters around them instantly seemed to be sucked into a vacuum.

The air itself, visible to the eye, converged directly in front of Caesar, forming into a roaring wind dragon.

The dust and smoke on the street within a hundred-meter radius were all drawn towards the roaring wind dragon.

Broken concrete fragments, steel bars, and even streetlights and car wreckage were all sucked in, then shredded in the high-speed whirlwind, as if it were a giant cutting machine, howling as it rushed toward Caesar!

This... is beyond human strength!

The wind dragon, wrapped in steel debris, roared and spun forward. Wherever it passed, everything was directly crushed.

How did things end up like this?

Well, it all started an hour and a half ago, when they had just landed.

Jiude Mai was steering the yacht, checking the direction while saying to him, "We're almost there. Be careful. I bet those people are looking for you everywhere."

"What's there to be afraid of? Didn't I already 'die'?" Caesar replied casually, his expression showing a hint of indifference.

"You don't seriously think a fake death can fool them, right?" Jiude Mai rolled her eyes at him, saying with annoyance, "Your dad survived having his head chopped off, let alone you only got shot. They're not that easy to fool."

"You say Pompeii faked his death, but what evidence do you have?"

Caesar frowned slightly, still finding it hard to believe.

At the time, he had personally chopped off Pompeii's head and was sure he was truly dead. There was no way he could have been mistaken.

"How can you be sure that what you see, touch, hear, and feel is real?" Jiude Mai laughed lightly, saying meaningfully, "Don't be too confident. There's a lot in this world you don't know."

"Hallucinations." Caesar narrowed his eyes, quickly guessing the possibility, "Or maybe it was a hypnotic spell or something, right?"

"I don't know. I'm not a god."

Jiude Mai shook her head, saying, "Anyway, that's what the boss told me."

"Who is your boss?" Caesar asked again.

"Hehe, that's a secret~" Jiude Mai shrugged, sighing. "I'm just a worker, no authority to spill any boss info. Don't ask too much. My job is to take you to Rome, and after that, it's up to you to handle things!"

"You won't help me?"

Caesar raised an eyebrow, surprised. "I thought you would come with me."

"Not happening~ Mr. Caesar."

Jiude Mai crossed her arms and made a big X with her hands, shaking her head like a rattling toy. "I'm not getting involved in any trouble. Once we disembark, we'll part ways!"

"You're quite clever." Caesar sighed. If he could, he wouldn't want to be dragged into this mess either.

But unfortunately, the moment he rejected Pompeii, there was no turning back.

Under the thick cover of night, the yacht passed through the bay harbor, quietly docking at the shore.

Jiude Mai pulled down the gate, then turned to Caesar and said, "Oh, before I leave, there's one thing I need to tell you. The main characters have arrived. Good luck~"

"Main characters?"

Caesar paused, then quickly realized she was referring to the people sent by Cassel. He nodded. "Thanks. If I get the chance, I'll repay you."

"Wow, the favor of the heir to the Gattuso family? I'll have to think about that~" Jiude Mai twirled a lock of her hair, smiling with her lips, and under the dim moonlight, she looked exceptionally bright.

Whoosh~

A gentle breeze blew across the shore.

Suddenly, the cold chill it carried made Caesar shiver with goosebumps!

The latest small novel is on 69.com!

Word Soul—Kama Itachi!

The dancing wind spirits cheered and scattered, expanding like a radar, gathering all nearby information.

Caesar quickly turned to the bridge of the harbor. A figure stood there, draped in tattered yellow robes, like a ghost.

The person wore a pale mask, with three tentacle-like, twisted yellow symbols painted on it, making Caesar's scalp tingle with a sharp 'buzz.'

"Secret Order?!"

Caesar had just blurted out when he saw the ghostly figure in yellow robes, as if reaching out with an open hand to grasp something, then casually threw it toward them.

Boom—!

What seemed like a light movement caused a huge commotion!

The air instantly erupted like boiling water, violently churning with waves. A beam of light, so faint it couldn't be seen with the naked eye, streaked across the dim, hazy night.

The beam of light sliced through the sky at an angle, creating a curtain of water as it skimmed across the lake's surface.

In that life-and-death moment, Jiude Mai forcefully shoved Caesar aside, but at the cost of being pierced through the abdomen by the beam of light. Blood sprayed out like a fountain, splattering across the deck.

"Run!" Jiude Mai's pupils were dilated. She coughed up blood, using her last bit of strength to say in broken sentences, "It's the Word Soul... Judgment!"

After saying those words, she lost too much blood and fainted immediately.

Judgment?!

Caesar's pupils contracted sharply, as if struck by lightning.

He turned his head, shocked, staring at the figure in yellow robes standing at the bridge's edge. His bloodshot eyes seemed like they wanted to tear apart that yellow robe to see who was inside.

However, the figure in the yellow robe opened his fingers again and slowly clenched them into a fist.

A chilling murderous aura filled the air, and a faint light that seemed capable of piercing everything cut through the misty night sky, with its target unmistakably Caesar!

Without time to think, Caesar grabbed the wine-decked Mai and instantly entered 'Blood Rage' mode.

His foot slammed down on the deck, and all his furious strength erupted, his body shooting forward like an arrow released from its bow.

Boom!

A massive explosion came from behind, and Caesar glanced back.

He saw the entire yacht, split cleanly down the middle as if it had been sliced by a water blade.

Run! Run! Run!

In an instant, only the thought of escaping filled Caesar's mind.
