Naruto: Rebuilding the Hidden Sand Village

Chapter 83: Rebuilding the Hidden Sand Village [83]

May 30th, Konoha Year 48, 11:30 a.m.

The delegation from Amegakure officially arrived just outside Sunagakure.

In the vast, open desert, there wasn't a grand welcoming parade. The only notable sight was a welcome party of over a hundred shinobi at the village entrance, headed by none other than the Fourth Kazekage himself, Rasa—modestly dressed yet still radiating sharp looks, spirit, and undeniable presence.

"Very good," Rasa said, nodding as he turned to the shinobi next to him who was diligently recording the significant occasion of "Amegakure's Visit to Sunagakure."

"This must be documented truthfully. No exaggeration, no falsification!"

This would be preserved in Sunagakure's official historical scrolls, a vital document for future generations to understand the village's development. Just like in Konoha—after Danzo knelt down, his two close friends sighed and remarked:

Back then, Hiruzen worked in the light, Danzo operated in the dark. Together, they built Konoha's golden age. Now… only the two of us remain.

Their contributions would also be recorded in Konoha's history scrolls—detailing how light and shadow, with their young comrades, created an era of prosperity.

So everything here had to be taken seriously. No inaccuracies allowed—future misunderstandings would be a problem.

Though compared to his own title as Fourth Kazekage, the Third Hokage's résumé had way more attached to it. You could probably fill an entire page just with his titles.

"Still need to work harder…" Rasa sighed inwardly.

Then he patted the shoulder of the excited shinobi beside him.

"The documentation of this event—Amegakure's visit—will be your responsibility."

Meanwhile…

When the Amegakure delegation saw the sheer number of shinobi at Sunagakure's gates, they were visibly stunned.

This visit was partly due to Yahiko's desire to show gratitude for having his life saved by the Sand, and partly to seek support to quell the chaos still plaguing the Land of Rain.

After all, many of Amegakure's citizens were struggling just to get a meal.

So their delegation wasn't large—just a dozen or so people. Konan and Nagato had stayed behind for safety reasons. Yahiko had instructed them that if anything happened to him, the responsibility of the Rain would fall on them.

He believed that with Nagato's legendary Rinnegan—said to be the eyes of the Sage of Six Paths—he would surely bring peace to the shinobi world.

Still, Sunagakure didn't exactly have the best reputation.

And now, seeing so many shinobi waiting outside the gate, Yahiko was getting a little nervous.

What the hell is Suna planning?

Is this a trap?

Are they going to capture us and use us to pressure the Rain?

But thinking about it logically, if Suna had wanted that, they could've just abducted him in front of Nagato instead of saving him.

And he had already told Nagato: if something happened to him, forget him—put the Rain first.

So, seeing the Fourth Kazekage, wearing his Kage hat, walking towards him with a smile, Yahiko didn't know what to do.

He quickly told the shinobi around him to stay vigilant, be wary of tricks, and if any danger arose, to disregard him and immediately break through. The Land of Rain was in chaos right now; one more person alive meant one more bit of strength!

However…

"Welcome to Sunagakure, leader of Amegakure."

The Fourth Kazekage suddenly extended a cordial hand to shake his, nearly making him draw the kunai from his waist.

But when he saw that the Fourth Kazekage had no other movements, releasing his hand after a few shakes and then making an inviting gesture, Yahiko immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

"Guess I was overthinking it…"

He smiled and said, "Thank you, Lord Kazekage, for your hospitality."

Looking around at the shinobi gathered at Suna's gate, Yahiko felt a surge of emotion:

I didn't expect Sunagakure to greet a minor village like us with such formality…

It truly made him feel their respect and sincerity.

May 30th, Konoha Year 48.

The Fourth Kazekage and the leader of Amegakure exchanged heartfelt greetings.

Under the kind, approachable, and charming guidance of Lord Kazekage, the delegation from Amegakure toured many of Sunagakure's most famous landmarks—though details of these are omitted here.

The atmosphere between both sides was warm and amicable. With Rasa's approachable personality and witty charm, and Yahiko's humble demeanor, the shinobi from both villages quickly bonded. Laughter echoed throughout their visit.

One moment, in particular, left a deep impression on Yahiko.

When Lord Kazekage, in front of both Sand and Rain shinobi, solemnly explained his philosophy on village governance—and extended that into a vision for peace in the shinobi world—it deeply moved the Rain's leader.

Eyes brimming with tears, Yahiko tightly gripped Rasa's hand, visibly emotional. Looking him straight in the eye, he declared his willingness to follow Suna's lead and work together to build a peaceful future.

Moved by Yahiko's sincerity, Rasa let out three hearty laughs, squeezed Yahiko's hand in return, and sighed three times before shouting:

"At last—I am not alone on this path!"

He then agreed to Yahiko's request. Sunagakure would stand beside Amegakure, and together, they would contribute to world peace.

May 30th, afternoon.

Under the scorching desert sun, the Fourth Kazekage and the leader of Amegakure officially signed a mutual alliance pact.

Sunagakure agreed to assist Amegakure in putting down remaining insurgents, help restore operations and infrastructure, and provide the Rain's struggling citizens with food and jobs—ensuring they had full bellies and stable lives.

Yahiko was so moved he burst into tears, calling the Kazekage…

"A truly good man!!!"

In just half a day, the two villages, aligned in values and ideals, bonded through their shared burning desire for peace. Their alliance was forged swiftly and harmoniously.

"So, Sunagakure can provide Amegakure with large quantities of food," Rasa said with a smile, looking at Yahiko. "But you also know the environment here in the Land of Wind; food isn't plentiful. Even as brothers, we must keep clear accounts. The money that needs to be paid, Amegakure still has to pay."

"I understand, Brother Rasa." Yahiko gave a wry smile. "But… we don't have much money right now…"

Unless they followed Nagato's sarcastic suggestion to go looting just to fill their empty reserves—which they never would. That would go against everything they were trying to build.

The world was already hard enough; why make it worse for someone else?

"If possible, I hope Sunagakure could—"

Before he could finish, Rasa cut in:

"Does the Land of Rain have any other resources?" he asked. "If you've got materials, we'd be willing to take those too."

"Resources? What about mineral veins?"

"Yes, of course, they can! Whether it's mineral veins or manpower, these are all resources.." Rasa narrowed his eyes and casually pulled out a document he'd clearly prepared ahead of time. His eyes gleamed mischievously as he offered it to Yahiko with a grin.

"Here, take a look… Sunagakure has already drafted a full list of aid plans and trade terms for the Land of Rain. If you've got any concerns…" He smirked.

"we can still discuss it, you know~"
